[Join-duel] Ready to be a firekin

The older lion stretched his paws as he got ready for his first duel. He was strong and even though he was a little older the large lion was more then ready to fight his way into the pride. He was welcomed into the pride by a lioness Kibela, she had opened her den for him as he got used to the pride and as he also started to find his way into it. He had to win a duel and he wasn't that sure how it was going to go but he was about to fins out that was for sure. A smirk was on his lips as he wandered toward the area he was told to meet his opponent. He lifted his head proud ready to take on who ever was coming his way. He knew he was going to have to be a little more careful than all of those other times that he fought, mostly because when he was a rogue he often fought for his life. He knew that wasn't the case this time. He didn't have to fight the male for his life.

He looked around and met eyes with the younger male that looked just as ready to fight as he was. "Are you ready?" He asked before bowing at the go ahead. He close his eyes for a moment getting into his zone before launching forward, his years or practicing and fighting in the rogue lands was showing. He snarled before pushing himself harder and slamming into the side of the male.

Ubawa was not in the mood for a duel.

His last match with a rogue had not gone so well, ending with his defeat. While it was good to gain a new member of the pride, it hadn't been the best for the somewhat egotistic lion's confidence. He thought he would never be able to lose, much less to a small lioness. Too bad she had turned out a hell of a lot more spunky than he could have imagined.

Sighing heavily, he watched his opponent approach, getting up from his sitting position only when the other made ready for battle. At least this lion looked formidable. Then again, if he couldn't beat a little girl, what chance did he had now? No. He wasn't going to think like that.

This guy was going down.

"Bring it on, friend," he told the other, claws gripping the dirt for just a moment before the firekin felt the impact of the first attack. Grunting, he wasted no time making a counter-attack, bringing his paw down on top of the other's head heavily.

Iivari let out another grunt as he felt a paw hit his head. It took a moment before he could feel the pain of the impact on him. He shook it off right awake, glad that he had a mane to absorb some of the impact. He growled as he looked at the other male, reaching a paw out and snarling as he did, he aimed toward the male's rump, he was about to act as if the male was a rogue before he reminded himself that it was just a sport. He calmed down just a little bit before smacking the side of the male with his claws retracted into his paw. He then pulled him self away from the male making a bit of a distance between the two of them.

Rolling away from the lion after his second attack, Ubawa got himself to his feet quickly. His side was aching him, but it wasn't enough to knock the focused look off his face. No, he wasn't going to bow down so easily. Growling lowly, he charged at the other again, rushing full-speed.

His plan of attack? Ram the guy!

Ducking his head, he plowed into the male, tackling him over onto the dirt without really thinking his attack through. Maybe that had something to do with his inability to win: he was a bit reckless.

As he watched the younger male come his way he tried to figure out when the other male was going to reach him. When he was slammed into sooner then he expected it threw him off he wasn't exactly ready for it yet. He snarled and went to snap and latch on to the male's side but as he did he ended up missing. He growled in frustration as he stumbled to his feet.

Ubawa found himself a little disoriented after that attack. Who knew running head-first into another lion could make you a little dizzy after? Frowning, he got himself to his feet, feeling air brush by him from a missed attack.

He countered with a spectacular miss of his own, his paw going wide.

Growling, he got to his paws, shaking off the daze the best he could.

Iivari lost his attention span for a moment, he was about to hit the other male but as he turned around he noticed the male was looking a little dizzy he tried his hardest not to laugh. He raised a paw and went to hit the male's side but ended up coming a little short of hitting him. Man they were both looking a little sad at the moment.

Regaining his focus, the male looked back at the other, moving away from the attack though it had come up a little on the short side anyway. It was good to see that his reckless attack might have done some damage to the other lion as well.

Now that the world wasn't spinning as much, he got himself ready for another attack, bracing himself and watching the other intently. He could see they were both getting a little tired now. Expending all that energy in their opening couple of moves had winded the both of them, it seemed.

But he wasn't going to give up just yet.

Iivari started at the male before hissing. He could tell that this duel was going down hill quite fast. He stared at the male before shaking his head, he moved forward and halfheartedly swipped at the male missing once more. He didn't care at the moment, he knew that he was going to be able to grab another duel with some one else when it came down to it. So for now he was going to have to wait.

Dodging the attack, Ubawa straightened himself, offering a grunt. "You're pretty strong," he told the other, "but I guess you can tell that this duel is over. That's alright. I don't mind if you want to train some more and find one of the weaker pride members to duel against. Maybe you'll get lucky."

Smug words from a lion who could have lost if he hadn't been lucky. Still, for him a victory was a victory. He turned from the other male and started for home.

His head hurt and he wanted to rest a bit.

Iivari raised a brow at the male in his reaction. Once more he tried to hold a laugh back in his throat. He remembered when he was young and had an attitude like that. He thought he was better then everyone else in the world and he always found it amusing when he saw younger lions. "Sure, Sure." He chuckled slightly nodding toward the male before stretching his paws out and starting to head back to the female that welcomed him into his den for a little bit. It was a intersting fight but he knew he would start to get back into the swing of fighting. For now he was going to rest for a bit.
