Which pets can you get (besides dog, cat, and ducks) and how can you get them?

I think those are the only pets you can get, unless you mean the cattle, sheep, goats, and chickens which you buy...
Oh, and you buy goats from Van!

No. Those are livestock and stuff. Cuz I've heard rumors that you can get a raccoon.

If your friends with certain people they might give you a pet. (If you give the dude at the dig food, and you become friends with him he gives you another dog)

HuzzahTheGiant i heard that u could get a pig as a pet in magic melody aka soh Unless they decide to remove the feature in the english version, than yes, it's been confirmed to be true. Heh, I know this is off topic, but you can get a pet pig in GC 3. ^_^

Be good friends with Mukumuku and you'll get a lizard, and if you get all seven Stone Tablets at the dig site you'll get a Chihuahua, the one that hangs around the site with the bow around its neck. But, the earliest you can get that one is in the seventh year, whereas the Cat and Lizard can be obtained in the second.

I haven't read about a raccoon yet, but I guess I'll search around for it...
On the GB3 version the pig is so cute! If you own a pig it'll find seeds for you too!

Cereah Wow, I hadn't heard the lizard one yet... I gotta try that one xd I haven't read about a raccoon yet, but I guess I'll search around for it... On the GB3 version the pig is so cute! If you own a pig it'll find seeds for you too! The pig was cute! heart I'm glad I'm not the only one in the dark about the raccoon...

I understand that you can get the raccoon if you befriend Vesta, but I haven't gotten it yet, and I talk to her and give her stuff alot...
I heard you get the lizard by befriendly the snow monster thingy, giving him flowers or fish everyday in the winter, hasn't happened for me yet...
And the little dog from Carter if you get all the tablets...

So for the tablets, do you have to have one for each Chpt? Or is by years? Because the system they use for AWL really confuses me. @_@

The tablets can be found once a Year, not by Chapters, but considering you can only get one a year you have to be at least Year 7 before you can get the dog, and it gets a bit harder to get them as the years grow because the site gets bigger with each year...
