Beibhinn was a solitary creature, though not necessarily by nature so much as it was by chance. Few soquili seemed to roam near the area she'd claimed as her own, and those who did often came and went in a few days time. She was grateful for the ocassional company but in the end, Beibhinn quite liked having her own self as company and not having to worry much about anyone else. It was merely her nature to care for others, and when there were no others, she wasn't so easily distracted. Curious in nature as well as kind, Beibhinn often explored farther and farther from her little home. Never too far that she couldn't find her way back, but she'd always push her borders bit by bit in exploration of the lands around her.
Unfortunately it was this exploration that had caused a bit of...trouble. On a particularly troublesome night, she hadn't been able to sleep, and decided to walk for a while until she could work herself up enough to fall asleep. In the dark of night, with the moon overhead, she tripped in a hole. Thankfully nothing had been broken on her person, but her glasses had gotten under hoof and were snapped in half. An easy fix, no doubt, if she'd known how to do it herself, but she didn't. And Beibhinn, poor dear, was quite blind without the aid of her glasses.
It just so happened that the Soquili had heard of an odd stallion who was quite capable of fixing a multitude of things. After a night or two to recover from her near-death experience, Beibhinn had set out to find this stallion. It might've been easy if she had a guide, but she didn't, so blind as a bat the young mare set out on her journey. A few hours into said journey found the usually reserved young lady... well.
"Ow! Damn it all!"
Not so lady-like.
She shook her head to clear it, huffing her hair out of her eyes, and tried to focus her vision ahead of her. "I haven't the slightest idea where I am, and I can't see more then a few inches in front of my face. This is wonderful." She scowled a little, and began to tread forward carefully, putting her hoof out tentatively. A few minutes later...
"Damn!"
Another hole in the ground. Just who dug these things, anyway? "Oh, I give up! I bloody give up! This is absurd; you'd think someone would be able to help a poor blind mare, but no! No one around for miles, of all the rotten luck!" This was not going well. She should have stayed home and waited for some poor schmuck to come help the helpless.
Ah, well.
