Thaiyo was lightly dozing in the sun on the ledge of his cave. How long had it been since he found the basket and brought it back to his home. He had no idea. At first, he hadn't even paid attention to what it was only that it was in similar shades as he was and that appealed to him. He was a simple creature with a simple mindset of survival. Thaiyo didn't like being around others of his kind and why? Chatter chatter is all they ever do and to him, it was a waste of energy.
Speaking of energy, he nosed the basket around to the sunniest spot of the ledge and sniffed it. It smelled like a girl and he decided if it ever did anything, maybe he would keep it around. Otherwise, it could be a dud. And he didn't want anything cluttering up his small cave. He liked it. It was filled with rocks and leaves and things that comforted him from some deep ache that always seemed to be there.
Why was it there?
Settling himself and getting more comfortable, Thaiyo went back to dozing in the sun. Too many thoughts keep one awake at the most inappropriate times.

The basket had wiggled. He was sure of it. Round and round Thaiyo circled the thing he had named U'yara. He liked how it flowed off his tongue and rolled around. Nosing his way close, he sat nose to basket and waited.
It did nothing.
He prodded with a paw and it wiggled again. Ah ha! Success. Thaiyo was simple and liked simple things. He wondered how much longer it would be before the little one decided to emerge. Impatient, he had tried to take the lid off but it was on there tight. No amount of tugging and clawing had removed it.
Looking behind his shoulder, he watched as the clouds rolled in and covered the mountain tops. His home, the Sanid Mountains. Thaiyo had covered much of the area in his travels and knew it quite well. Grabbing one of the handles with his teeth, he began to drag it in towards his den.
A storm was coming, he was sure of it. Moving further back into his cave, he rolled around in his pile of leaves, moss and other random comfortable stuff that was his bed. A flash of light and the sound of rain began.
His basket quivered as they both stayed there in silence.
