Outside of the great city, the world seems to stretch in all directions; for most, their lives take them along the well-made, well-mended roads that lead out from each of the city's four gates. For others, their path is ever-changing, weaving between order and happenstance with little to no warning at all.

For those who travel east of the city, a mountain-range rises; although it seems formidable, multiple paths crisscross the surface of granite gray and dark green life. Following these paths, which lead ever upwards, the curious traveler will come to hear the sound of running water, as from a lake and - curiously - a gentle spring.

At the summit of the range, which is in truth surprising level and sheltered by its taller brethren, lies a large complex fronted by an ornate temple facade. The temple is obviously weathered by the rain and the wind, and by Age itself, but it remains meticulously maintained nonetheless, carrying a dignified sense of Time. The posts of the facade proclaim it as Qui Yu Temple: The Temple That Prays For The Rain.

The doors themselves are open; thieves, it seems are not feared here, and the remote-seeming location probably aids this security. Beyond the temple, or following the small paths to either side, brings one behind the main building; the water continues to flow, creating the peaceful sound that echoes through the complex. In the center of this running water lies a courtyard filled with odd stone structures: Monuments for those who have passed. These too are meticulously cared for, and here, oddly, can no sound be heard but the wind.

And finally, behind the temple, lies a water-strewn system that is carved into the mountain-side, descending below in a time-worn series of bridges, roofs, and buildings enough for a large family. Many creatures dwell here, and natural life is in full force; however, all the buildings but one are shut tightly and remain unused.

This is a place of natural beauty, and was once home to those who cared for its well-being and for the souls of those to whom their loved ones prayed. Yet now it is avoided for that same reason, and there are few who wander onto the temple's grounds to discover the views within.

Jing Lin had heard a bit here and there about the Qui Yu Temple, not terribly much in detail but one rumor among all the others was what drew his attention. From the sounds of it not many people went there and that made it seem like the perfect place to visit for an outcast like him. The rumors that were going around about him, whispers of his true legacy, were at some points a bit tiring to deal with so a trip out of town was wonderful. He'd heard a few whispers here and there about Bai Mei already though he had been expecting it, one like him couldn't appear with a child that looked half grown without causing some buzz.

His son though seemed blissfully ignorant and even now the pretty child with the odd colored hair was currently racing forward as quickly as he could. He stumbled here and there, seemingly ungraceful as a new born horse but it made him chuckled. Bai Mei truly was a sweet child and as such he was never happier about the fact that he had been gifted with that strange, magical flower.

"Don't run to far ahead!" He called out to the boy who was getting a bit to far ahead of him for his liking, he wanted him to be close enough that he could protect him if the need arose. The walk from town to the temple was longer then they had walked for some time but completely worth it as they arrived. The two of them paused at the wide open, inviting gates and looked around, "How beautiful." Jing Lin murmured to himself.

Bai Mei looked up at his Father for a long moment, smiled, and reached out to take the man's hand in his, giving it a squeeze, then tugged on it, "Come on! Let's go inside, lets look around." He murmured, giving a little tug before he started forward inside, tugging the tall man along with him.
