Azzo was sitting near the playgrounds of one of the smaller parks since the largest one was as far as he knew still off limits. There were some smaller kids and adults, he always brought his puppets. Some of the parents seemed to appreciate the show as it kept the kids quite for a while.
However today he was tired and it showed, he still wasn't getting a decent nights rest, there were still random dreams that plagued him, none as terrible as the occasional terrors that popped up, not yet anyways. Which was a relief to him, he didn't want night terrors all the time, occasionally was bad enough.
He was sitting there with a box of his grand mother's homemade sugar cookies. They were Easter left overs, not only that but he had tons of chocolate and other sugary over loads to keep him going. Most of which would attract kids or even animals, though normally he'd avoid giving a pet chocolate, since he knew it made most of the sick.
He was holding one sugar cookie in his hand watching kids play. It was dangling dangerously low. Low enough for any passerby to look at it hungrily.

The park was a good place to look for people. Never mind the fact that ********* had done this many times before and had not located any of her girls through this method. The point was that many people were in and out of a park during the day, meaning she could check many people in a day for possibly being one of her girls.
Too bad the main park in the city was closed off. This meant the manx cat had to suffice with a smaller park. It wasn't a bad thing. Just not as big a populous to investigate. The pale feline's paws padded across the sidewalk, since the grass would tickle her paws if she was on it for too long. If she encountered a person, she rubbed up lovingly along their ankles. Little kids were adorable, but some of them didn't know how to pet a cat the right way. About half of them were tugged away from ********* by their parents, who were muttering something about strays and fleas, but the other half of the kids were allowed to roughly rub her fur. It honestly felt as if the kids were trying to pull her skin off, but the feline was a nice and patient one.
Any attention was good attention.
After the most recent assault, the feline skittered away from a particular three year old, only to literally run into a cookie. Well, almost literally. It was right in front of her face, just out of reach. That was unfair, to just have a cookie dangling in your face without being able to do a damned thing about it.
Doing the only thing she could openly do about the situation, the cat began to mew out in jealousy. That cookie should have been hers.

Azzo was snapped out of whatever insomniac sleep trance he was in by the mewing. He blinked and looked down at the sound. "OH." He said with a smile, "Hello there."
He noticed the cookie and she was mewing rather loudly apparently she was hungry. Well he couldn't deny a kitten of food. He promptly sat the cookie on the ground. "There you go kitty."
He said with a smile looking at her, she was a pretty cat. Though tailless, which caused him to wonder what might've happened to it. Considering most of the cats he normally saw had tails, ah well. He gave her a soft scratch behind the ears before retrieving another cookie for himself.
"I have more" He said before leaning back down nibbling on the cookie, "You are a pretty girl, I wonder if you have an owner wondering around here." He never minded sharing food, he looked for someone that might've been the cats owner, hoping they weren't going to freak over the cat just being given a cookie.

Well, at least he hadn't called her a kitten.
The cat mewed out again, eying the cookie, and watching it get set down on the ground. The next sound that came from the tailless feline was a trilling pleased sound. ********* still had that magic touch of being able to con people out of food. Well, it wasn't so much "conning" as it was convincing them to share their food.
Some cats might have cautiously approached the food, but this pale spotted cat immediately trotted up and began to nibble along the edge of the cookie. It was not exactly the same as eating a cake, which was nice and soft on her teeth, but this baked treat was still just as good. To accompany her current snack, there was the infamous pleasant feeling behind her ears. Oh yes, it was always nice when a person tended to her ears. Naturally, she pressed her head into the sensation, abandoning the cookie for just a moment.
If only the situation called for it, she might have answered something along the lines of "I don't have an owner, I don't need one," but unfortunately it was not an appropriate time. Instead, her pale green eyes wandered up to look into the boy's brown ones.
He has more cookies? I'm jealous!

Azzo chuckled as he leaned there watching her nibble the cookie. He smiled as he ate his own. "You sure are pretty." He said watching her, reaching down to softly rub her again and smooth a slightly mussed spot. Apparently one of the kids might've been a little too rough with her if she came through the park.
He blinked when she looked up at him, he lofted his brow curiously before giving a soft hum. He always liked animals. "I have more if you're still hungry after that one." He said as if he could read her mind, but she wasn't the first animal he fed. He normally limited them to two though. Since he didn't want to make the animals sick.
He glanced over the park looking curiously around, maybe no longer for an owner since one hasn't came over by now. "I hope you have someplace safe to stay at night. Then again you might just live near by... I hope" He said looking back down to her, it sounded slightly cryptic, like he knew what went on at night. However he chuckled at himself, he was talking to animals again that couldn't talk. At least they couldn't ever tell anyone, so it was better this way right? He could at least get some things out of his head that he didn't feel like telling the counselors he'd gotten stuck with since his grandmother insisted. Granted he resisted that kind of help as long as he could.

Oh, this boy's efforts with that one spot of mussed fur received extra affection from the cat as a reward. She momentarily paused with the cookie, stood up and rubbed her full body against him, padding a little ways, turning, and rubbing the other side of her body against his hand. It also helped that he was completely stroking the cat's ego with all the talk about how pretty she was.
********* had always thought of herself as a looker, even if she was smaller in stature than some other cats.
The mention of getting more cookies, however, redirected her attention to the boy, then promptly to the cookie. If she ate all of this cookie, he'd give her some more? That sounded like a good deal if she ever heard one! Setting herself in front of the cookie again, she crouched down and continued her work. Once again, as the boy spoke, her eyes would drift up to him thoughtfully.
********* was listening.
Well, ********* lived wherever she was at the moment. So technically his statement was correct about her "living near." However, she also lived far away too.

He chuckled as she seemed to appreciate the attention he was giving her. He watched almost curiously as she looked to him then the cookie. How odd, it was almost like she understood him.
He shook the thought from his head, she was probably just hungry. He stretched for a second before continuing his converstation with her, despite the fact it was one sided. Not to mention it was loud enough anything he was saying to the cat was sure to be lost in the kids screaming and playing.
He sighed, "I just hope you stay somewhere safe at night. I'd hate to find out you where another victim of these things the senshi are fighting." Now how many people actually knew about those?
He'd finished his cookie and reached down to give her a little more attention, cautiously while she was eating so she wouldn't think he was trying to take the food away from her. "Heh, sometimes I think I've gone crazy, kitty." He said softly with a heavy sigh.

One would have almost wondered if they were watching this tailless cat on fast forward, for she was making quick work of the cookie. She paused when she was halfway done, and much like any cat would, randomly began to clean herself. Lick the paws, wipe them over her head, repeat until she was satisfied.
However, this boy had interesting things to say. He knew that the senshi were fighting things for a lack of a better word. ********* knew a better word, and it easily popped up in her thoughts. Youma. Curiously, her eyes went back to the boy's, as if trying to figure out who or what he was.
He was no Senshi, for her head wasn't sending her all sorts of signals screaming "WAKE HIM UP!" If he was part of the Negaverse, he would have probably been trying to capture her. No Negaverse agent was smart enough to use cookies so far, so why would they start now? The boy began to pet her again, and fortunately, she wasn't eating at the moment, so there was no freaking out about her food being stolen away.
Yet his statement and heavy sigh seemed to stir up some sort of reaction in the feline. Rather than remain where the cookie was, she then bound up onto his lap without even really asking (like she could right now anyways). Once settled in his lap, she patted him gently with one paw.
Wait? Did this cat just give him a "there there" pat?

He blinked, looking at her, did she just give him a pat? He held her softly and picked up her cookie that was half finished sitting it on his lap as well so she could have it if she wanted it.
He sighed, "Heh even Polaris and Metis must think I'm nuts for following those things sometimes... I can track the damn things... there has to be a reason" He said looking at the cat and shook his head again, "How many people can do that? It's crazy right? I'm crazy..." He shook his head, "Next thing you know I'm going to see floating pink elephants, or something just as silly."
He wrinkled his nose, "Funny thing is If I tell the counselor he'll probably have me locked up in the loony bin." He frowned before rubbing her again softly, "You probably don't understand a word I've been saying though." He was trying to ignore the obvious patting and looking at him when he mentioned things that seemed to trigger a response in the cat.
He looked in his bag, "I wonder if you like lemon cookies." He said curiously as he dug out another cookie for the cat, a bunny rabbit shaped lemon cookie with sprinkles.

The pat was completed, and miraculously the cookie had been brought back to her. Oh, this was perfect. Once more, she began to bite onto the cookie, eyes flickering up to the boy as he talked. However, there was one name in the various things he mentioned that stood out.
Metis.
Metis knew this puppy-earred boy?
Well, maybe the manx could at least learn this boy's name through the blind senshi. Right now, the cookie was needing to be eaten. ********* couldn't deny the cookie the right of being eaten! She couldn't help but feel for him, since she knew very well he was not crazy. However, she really couldn't say too much about it.
Otherwise he'd end up thinking he was even more crazy.
When she finished up the second portion of her cookie, she sympathetically began to rub herself up against his torso. Poor boy, ********* understands! The cat paused for a couple seconds, seeming to perk up at the mention of a lemon cookie, but rather than go begging for it, she continued to be a good tailless cat and rub up against him some more.

Azzo continued to softly rub her while he watched her eat, He wasn't going near the food. She made fast work of it, he chuckled softly as she was eating the cookie.
"My you sure do finish off food fast." When she started rubbing herself up against him he smiled, and scratched her ears again softly.
He sat the lemon cookie down where the other cookie had been placed. "Here you go." He said as he offered the other cookie to her. As he sat there watching her eat. "Hmm, wish I knew your name." He said softly before leaning back to watch the kids play. There'd been a few that were watching him play with the cat, off in the distance.
He chuckled slightly, "I think they're jealous..." He said softly to the tailless cat.

A silent little jingle rang in her head, though it was far from perfect from the original Oscar Meyer jingle.
My manx it has a first name and it's H-E-B-E... um... that's it...
Well, nobody ever said that cats were meant to be jingle writers. The song itself easily dwindled in her head, but aloud she couldn't say a word. ********* had a name, but she just couldn't tell the boy. It was very upsetting, but the small cat had gotten used to it. There wasn't much she could do about it, other than remain an overly friendly cat.
Who was apparently getting spoiled with cookies. Again, she wasn't one to hesitate, and easily wandered over to the cookie. It had colorful sprinkles, hurray! Eagerly, the cat began to lick away the sugary decorations. If she wasn't eating and was for some reason allowed to speak, she probably would have stated the fact that the kids watching were definitely jealous, but they should have come over to join the fun. The more, the merrier! The more meant more attention for her.

If Azzo could hear her sing that and not think he was crazy he'd probably be laughing about it. He watched her lick the sprinkles off the cookie, "Hmm, so you do like sugar." He said amused by the cat.
He was still giving her attention, without giving it too roughly like the younger kids were adept to do. "Grams would like you." He said thoughtfully, "Then again Grams likes anything that likes her cooking."
He grinned a thought turned back in his head, "You know, I kind of wish I could help the terrorist without everyone thinking I'd get in the way." He said Remembering the last three attacks he'd been involved in.
"Though the first time I had broken ribs. I could understand not helping then." He said thoughtfully, but it seemed he wasn't of any possible help the way he was and that was slightly depressing. "Melody thinks I'm going to get myself killed..." He muttered in an undertone.

The manx was pretty easy to please. She purred at the mention of "Grams," whoever she was. Then again, he could have said something stupid like Charonite liking her, and she still would have probably purred. ********* did enjoy getting attention when she could.
The colorful sprinkles were soon enough gone, leaving a partially soggy cookie there for her to munch on. Partially soggy wasn't a bad thing, because it made eating even easier. The cat chewed on the edges of the cookie, mentally nodding at things that were mentioned before her ears literally twitched.
Pale green eyes were rather quickly on him after the mention of a familiar name. Melody. Wasn't that the girl she had most recently woken up as a Senshi?
Then again, this was a big city, and there were definitely many Melodys in the city. Perhaps this Melody he spoke of was not the Senshi of Cherry Blossoms. Yet, ********* eyes still remained on the boy as she thoughtfully chewed. Maybe he would say something that could clarify for her if this was the one and same Lacrimosa or not.

Azzo watched her, finish off the sprinkles from the cookies. He was still idly giving her attention and soft scratches behind the ears.
He seemed to ponder, "For that matter I think Melody is the only one that I know with crazy makeup like she has. Though it's kind of cute." He said with a shrug.
He paused, "I can't help but feel like something bad might happen when she's around though... Like I should protect her or something..." He gave a soft sigh as he sat there.
"Though I feel like Aurora, occasionally could use the same protection." He'd thought that since he'd seen her crying in the larger park.
"What's weird though..." His thoughts were jumping a mile a minute, "Is that one of the scouts I've met knew my name... I didn't even introduce myself. How weird is that?" He asked curiously.
