Vivid green grass tickled Benjamin’s skin, prickling and brushing him with their slender fingers. With eyes closed and arms behind his head he inhaled, breathing in the refreshing air and wind of Hananeko Park. A few seconds of holding in his breath and the Bengal exhaled, feeling the tension of today’s woes ooze away with each molecule of air passing his lips. His eyes opened to slits, revealing dual colors: warm yellow and bright green.
Lips pulled into a tight grin and he rolled to his stomach, relaxingly stretching his arms out in front of him. “I’s always nice to relax in tah park when I’m feelin’ stressed fah some reason,” mused the cat as his head flopped to the side and his eyes closed once more, his spotted tail flicking back and forth.
Muscles loosened and ears flattened, his expression turning calm and tranquil as Benjamin fell asleep. However, a needle gleamed in the sun, obscured in the pockets of his worn pants.
Relaxed or not, there would always be potential dangers.
