When you do like a family surname or last name using the filet method of crochet. It has recently become popular and I want to make one for my sibling for christmas. But I can't find abpattern because I don't know what it's called!!!

Like Monograms? I'm not sure if that is the word you are looking for but it is all I can think of.

Monogram sounds like what you would be looking for. It would basically just something with the first letter of your surname on it. The only example I can think of is Ron Weasley's sweater his mum makes him.
