Almost every single chapter title in Hellsing is a video game allusion. Here's a list:

1. Vampire Hunter (European title)
2. Master of Monster
3. Dead Zone
4. Balance of Power
5. Elevator Action
6.Age of Empire
7.Call To Power
8.Ultima On-Line
9. D
10. Xanado (originally spelled "Xanadu")
11. Final Fantasy (Obviously)
12. The Screamer
13. Aubird Force (announced for PSX, but eventually canceled)
14. Gun Bullet (Japanese title)
15. Balloon Fight
16. Soldier of Fortune
17. Last Mission
18. Get Away
19. Yaksa (for the MSX, which was only released in Japan)
20. The Man I Love (also for the MSX)
21. Ogre Battle
22. Angelous
23. Wizardry
24. Hundred Swords
25. Might and Magic (Obviously)
26. Psyoblade
27. Castlevania (Obviously)
28. Heart of Dream (not a video game allusion)
29. Relics
30. Heart of Iron
31. Finest Hour
32. Lunatic Dawn
33. Operation Wolf
34. Warcraft (Obviously)
35. Wolffang
36. Black Onyx
37. Sorcerian
38. Oblivion
39. Romancia

Interesting, huh?

Very nice observation!
Of course the Japanese are video game junkies, when they aren't inventing something wonderful and innovative (even if it's useless 3nodding ), so I can see that. I just wish I knew more Japanese pop culture. There are many references, especially on that page 'Kohta Hirano is so happy about this volume going on sale that he changes into-'

Wow! I had heard that most of the chapters had video game titles. I just didn't think that applied to all but one of the chapters. Very careful observation and research as always, NLK! 3nodding

... huh. That is interesting. Though I have always pictured Hirano as the typical gamer type.

Not to mention his mini series Ikaryaku kind of confirms that fact.

I like most of those games except for Might and Magic.

...I don't think you really took my comment the right way. I meant they make very useful and innovative things and it's only now and then that I find an article on some quirky little doodad they've invented, like rhoombas. In all honesty, they create many items that can change the life of a disabled person, improve gaming or create a faster and smaller computer. I only say the quoted above because I have seen some very quirky things as well as useful. Like a hat with cameras all around it so one can take a 360 degree picture. XD
