Crystal caravans have been journeying throughout the world, seeking myrrh for many years now.
Seek the water of life.
Long ago, miasma swallowed the world. Its very touch was fatal, and it claimed many lives. But we have since discovered a way to hold it at bay.
Crystals protect us from miasma. Smaller crystals now guard the villages of the world, while greater ones guard the cities. We all live our lives within the embrace of the crystals' blessing.
The power of the crystals is not limitless, however; it gradually diminishes over time. We must rekindle the crystals' radiance each year by purifying them with myrrh. In turn, they protect us from the miasma for another year.
But myrrh cannot be found just anywhere. We must seek it in the dank depths of dungeons, across forbidding mountains, even beyond the sea.
This task falls to groups of young men and women sent off each year by every town the world over. It is their duty to collect myrrh and bring it home. They are known as the crystal caravans.
This is the tale of one such caravan and its adventures.

That high because not everyone wants to be a Caravanner! There will only be 8 Caravanners allowed!

Weapons, Special Attacks & Armor
Weapons/Armor
Each race has one particular type of weapon that they can use. Which weapon you have equipped determines your strength stat and what your focus attack will do. When having weapons made at a blacksmith, one pattern will create a weapon for every race. For example, a Novice's Weapon pattern will create an Iron Sword for a Clavat, a Partisan for a Lilty, or a Solid Racket for a Selkie, depending on which character turns the pattern in to the blacksmith. Every character can wear two pieces of armor--a piece of body armor, plus a piece specific to their race.

Magacite & Status Effects
Magical stones that are found in treasure chests or dropped by many monsters when they die. Equipping them in action slots allows the characters to cast spells.

Burning Character gets set on fire and lightly damages you for a moment.
Curse Cuts your strength, defense, and magic stats by half.
Death You are dead. In multi-player you can be revived. In single player, equip a Phoenix Down to automatically revive you.
Freezing Character cannot move and takes heavy damage. Move your control stick around rapidly to quickly break free.
Haste Speeds up your characters movements, spell casting, and charging times.
Paralysis Character cannot move. Move your control stick around rapidly to quickly break free.
Petrification Character cannot move. The effect will eventually wear off.
Poison Character gradually loses health. The effect will eventually wear off.
Shock Character cannot move. Move your control stick around rapidly to quickly break free.
Slowness Character moves very slowly. The effect will eventually wear off.

She was packing her things, only the necessary of course, a few changes of clothes, the travel journal that she had been put in charge of, her money pouch, and her personal care items. Sighing she sat on her bed. Her room viewed the river her family lived by. Today would be the last night with her family until they returned. They departed tomorrow. Everyone in the town knew everyone, everyone was like family to everyone despite the differences in race.
Looking out she got up, leaving her room, leaving her house, heading to her friend Reho's. Her little brother trailing her, hed been doing so the past few days and she knew it was because he was going to miss her.

Alister was working up a massive sweat working over the hot coals. he was working a bit of armor for the trip it was in a day, after all he was a blacksmith. whis body was covered in soot from the fire and all you could hear from his house was the hammer on anvil. It was the hard work but them liveing was better for the whole town, due to the fact that if they fail the mist would invade them all and slowly kill them. The male looked at the sword he had just made it was sharp and good for him, fighting was not his main job on the trip but to make armor and weapons for the others. 'All done I hope they like what I made.' with his forest green hair blocking part of his eyesight he put on a headband. the voices of the kids at play reached his ears. this was a normal trend soon they would ask him to play some sort of game. Alister would always tell them not now that he had to work..that was the truth but now he has to go get myrrh along with a few kid form the village. his eyes soon fell on the sets of armor for the others that would join him he made them over the last week just as the elders order him to.
something made the male wonder if they know about the armor. after all nothing is hidden in this village. most people saw or heard whats happened. ' come this time tomarrow we are going to be risking our lives to save them all, kind of sad that the send us, but like all before us it had to be done.' Alister let out a breath blowing the small strand of hair up and back down. The male started to wak twords the river hopeing to see a frendly face or two.

"Do you....have to? I-I mean, we're about the same age, anyways. I should--"
"No." Achaius replied. "You need to stay here." He glanced back. Father was in the fields, focusing his energies on the crops. "...He needs you, you know."
Pater bit his lip, and nodded. His posture straightened, his fists clenched. "Your...I mean....She'd be proud, I think. I never really got that close to her, but....I think she's happy you're doing this."
Achaius blinked. "..Heh, I'm not leaving until tomorrow, you know." But seeing that look on his brother's face made his eyes soften. He ran a hand through his brother's golden hair. "He needs you... I'll be back later." He tried to ignore his brother's stare as he headed to the river. Achaius needed to go think.

Just sitting on bridge letting his feet dangle off the one side faceing the town. syd saw the whole town he was tempted to start fishing from this spot but no rod or bait..takeing things out of his pcket and tossing them in the water it was a bunch of rocks..syds older brother left for the feild of flum a while ago or thats what they tell him. syd saw Achaius a bit away he wounder what he was up to if the Liltian was going to join him throwing stuff in the river. but most likly he was going to just sit by himself and watch Syd throw things in but once the toehr male was in hear shot ." Here to think or to join me throwing junk in the river? " his voice was just over the sound of the river. syd was hopeing that the people heading on the quest would come and talk now, but talking was something they could do on the road. But it would be nice to chat.

The large hand on his pocket watch landed onto the sixth dial; The smaller one was set on the first. Lifting himself up off the ground, He glanced about rubbing his eyes. Shifting his earthy hazelnut globes from left to right, up and down. Reho's shoulders were slumped and relaxed, His head was low and uncharacteristic. The title Night Owl was well fitting; Letting out a long and deep yawn he stretched out his arms and legs. Sitting there lazily and chilled he could almost forget that he had to go meet up with his friend, Sarafeen. She wanted to run by him a list of a few things and make sure he was prepared and ready-Knowing the lazy slacker he was.
The whole preparation progress was so tiring to him, He just wanted to lay down in a soft and cool patch of grass- Maybe under a tree if possible. Just snoozing and dozing the day away. Of course he couldn't slack today. If she would find him in the state he was in, She'd laid him out in no time. With that thought his whole body shivered and trembled. Her beatings were almost a murderous act.
With a soft sigh he shot up to his feet. Now standing, The male started to walk towards his house. Trying to beat his dear friend Sarafeen to his home before she would find out that he didn't pack at all. But, going as his usual slow and steady pace would cause him to end up worse then anything in any of his nightmares. Shuddering at the thought-Which he did a lot. He lighten his steps and lengthened his strides. Racing home, Having his posture relaxed and his eye's aimlessly tracing his surroundings, Looking for any sign of Sarafeen.

Sitting on the steps to the Alchemists house was Jojo, Sarafeens little brother. He was a quiet boy, almost melancholic and hardly spoke. He was the only one in town who wore black and some neon like colors. He was there, sitting...Sarafeen was no where to be seen at all. Upon Reho's arrival Jojo held out a note, most likely addressed to the males death. And if that was the case then it would sound overly sweet itself. Overly sweet was her most lethal disguise of 'your gonna die'.
Jojo remained indifferent to the whole thing. The note itself stating that Reho had until she got back from Market to be ready, if he wasnt then simply put shed pack his a** with his belongings. Issue was who knew how long Jojo had already been sitting there waiting for his sister to come back.

He didn't waste a moment to examine Sarafeen's little brother, He quickly scanned the note then crumbled it up, Tossing it into a waste bin next to his home. He pulled his hand on her brothers shoulder and tugged him inside the house along with him. Racing towards his room, Ignoring his parents and his siblings he still had her little brother in his grasp. It wasn't until he went into his room when he let go of him, Dashing over his clutter packed floor, maneuvering over his clothes and miscellaneous belongings he tossed about.
"Hey, I brought you in here because i wanted you to help me with something, Can you do that? " Reho was deep in his closet, Pulling out his unused luggage and tossing all about anything that wasn't particularly what he was seeking around the room.

Jojo blinked at him, silent as ever before shrugging. He wasnt too concerned if his sister beat on the male selkie, she did it almost everyday anyway on varying degrees. Looking round with bored red eyes he looked to the floor, bending and picking up a sealed envelope. No address or anything but something was in it. He wasnt nosy however and merely set it down before looking back to Reho.
Sarafeen had just walked from the market, turning to head down the road before spotting her other travel companions by the bridge. Head tilting slightly she started towards the bridge instead. The Lilty and the Clavat already there.

Achaius shrugged. "Very well." He sat down beside the Clavat, picked up a stone, and tossed it in.

He smiled slightly at the sound.
"So..." He decided to try starting a conversation for once. "Have...you packed yet?" Achaius stared at where the stone had landed in the water, scratching his head.
