Orange eyes looking up at the sky, Mauja felt fairly mellow today. He hadn't done anything dangerous lately, so his adrenaline levels were at an all-time low. Not that it really mattered. In his age, he had settled down, though he wouldn't admit it. He wasn't too old, anyway, and he would never let his free-spirit die.
Good thing he was oblivious to the fact that he had two grandcubs.
His tail flicked to the side, and he trotted along, humming a little tune that he had made up along the way. He was really thinking of going home for a long while and watch his little ones grow up a bit. It'd make his family happier, and it would definitely do this cheetah some good.

A stripe of white seems to race across the tan earth, mucles rippling gently with every motion like that of a calm lake - gold eyes barely blinking, alert and searching. Desite the hunter's glaring fierceness, there was a soft glow of beauty shouding her.
And suddenly, she slowed to a halt, puffs of air escaping her maw from the run. Her pink nose flared, sucking in air that only seemed cool to her heated body.
With the determined run, left a relaxed female. Featured softened to that of a feminine, athletic woman instead of a fierce hunter. Asha sighed - he really needed to return home - home to Sanu. Her Journeyman status was long overdue to becoming a Master, and she was anxious.
She had trained hard, and would perhaps recieve the title of Head after she returned. For now, though, she trotted along, to keep her muscled from cramping with the run.

Shoulder twitching, Mauja's ears swiveled back and forth. He had stopped now, looking around the area to make sure he hadn't wandered into an angry pride's territory. Seeing nothing, he resumed his tune, quietly at first, and then it grew louder.
He was about to start back on his trail when he caught sight of something. His tune stopped, and he snapped his head back up, his eyes looking around to try and find it again. And there it was. A flash of white reflecting the bright sun had caught his eye, and he smiled. Now his day could really turn into something fun.
All it was was a little need for attention. He wasn't looking for feminine company, exactly, but someone he could talk to and treat nicely. Or make them feel overly awkward. Either way, he was in for some fun today, at least.
So he trotted over towards the white blur, it's shape coming into view as he came closer. He recognized the body shape- he had met a leopardess before, of a similar girth, but very very different in pelt. "Good afternoon, my sweet. Such lovely warmth today." He smiled, putting on his nice face for this first impression.

Asha nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard a voice. Her body had become totally relaxed, letting her attention wander to other things - the pride, and their leader, et cetra. She would be ashamed to admit she actually squeaked!
"A-ah, hello," she stammered out for a second - was a great first impression, right? She frowned, clearing her throat, mortified.
So distracted, she did not notice the tack on pet name and such. With a quick jold of her mind, she realized his comment on the warmth of the day. "Oh, yes, it's quite nice. It must be much hotter for you with such a dark pelt, sir," she said kindly, remembering herself.

Mauja smirked, quite liking that she seemed down-to-earth. Too often his time was wasted on little girls who thought themselves princesses and amazing things.
"Oh, it's not too bad for me. I quite like keeping my body warm. It must be find for you, darling, with that radiant pale coat." He smiled, looking over her light markings. It was a cute combonation, he had to admit.
"But sunny days just bore me so. I have nothing to do while I'm away from home nowadays." His eyes wandered off. He felt like an old man, just rambling off about his own life in front of a female. Rule one: Never start talking about yourself. It was something his grandfather had taught him, and here he was, blatantly ignoring it. He couldn't help but smile, thinking of how he must be rolling in his grave at the thought of it.

Asha gave a small nod. It was humid-warm where she live - back home, where she missed, not the mostly arid area like out where she was, but as a part of her Journeywoman esperience, she was to learn about all types of areas and foods for when she needed to hunt.
A light coat was simply a coat when in her area - the moist heat would penetrate anyone's coat.
"Oh?" She asked, instead. "I've not thought any days boring since I've come out here... But then, it's quite different from home." She tilted her head. "Why not return home? Home's are cherished places, after all."
She hoped she had not spewed too much - this was why she was a hunter, not a healer. Her brain couldn't retain the complexities. Perhaps one of her cubs...

Flicking the end of his tail, Mauja looked back at her. "Homes really are cherished places, aren't they?" He looked down, a small defeated smile on his face. "I just find it kind of smothering some times, so I have to leave. But they understand. I can't help but miss all of my little ones, though. My eldest is almost full-grown, and my youngest is running around curiously and getting into trouble." He thought of his little ones at home, not so much of the ones with their real mothers. It was hard sometimes having such age differences, but they were all such cute little bundles to him. Part of him didn't want to admit that his first litter was almost grown, because there was no way he'd admit to how old he was getting.
"So you like to travel, love?" His eyes locked on her, a smile on his face. "Oh, the joys of the young hearts." He sighed, laughing a bit.
Seaki
The white female gave a small noice in agreement. She hadn't been home in so long, that she missed it dearly. She knew in her mind that when it was time for her to leave, she was anxious to get away from the pride and enjoy the world.
"You sound to have a large family. It sounds endearing. You don't look too much older than myself though," the aquised with a faint quirk of the lips.
"I used to like travel. I miss home though. My chest throbs whenever I think of home - I haven't been back since the dawn of the last bloom... I probably need to return soon..." She frowned at the thought and sighed.
"Young heart?" She questioned faintly. He seemed youthful as well, but then - he did have a litter that was nearing adulthood.
Polette
"I do have a large family, actually." He laughed, thinking of all his cubs. "I do believe the count is to twenty-five blood-cubs." It was a first use of the expression, and as soon as the words left his mouth, he didn't like them.
"I got a head start in life, I guess you could say." Another laugh, but not as big. It was rather sad if you thought about it, having his first litter barely out of his cubhood. He liked the responsibility, the forced growing-up he had to do.
"Traveling is for those who love it, regardless of age. I started a bit early." He rolled his eyes, a smirk on his maw. "Too many head starts in my life, dearest. It's just the path that's been laid before me, I suppose." He smiled. He had aged too quickly mentally, seeming like an old man as he spoke
Seaki
Gold eyes widened slightly with the number, hoping that not all of them came from one female. She knew it was possible. The largest litter she knew of was seven. Four litters would up the count, but the male wasn't all that old, so multiple females?
Well, that was a lion's way of doing things, but cheetahs, she was unsure of. She gave a small breathy giggle to take the attention away from her suprise, but she frowned soon after. The sad tone that would carry after his noted head-start.
"At least it's there for you, right?" She asked, hoping to cheer him up. "I was told that everything works out in the end, regaurdless of the circumstances. Whatever will be, or something." She shook her head. She shoulod ger her facts straight before spouting nonsense.
She quirked a small smile. "At least you know your path. You never know. Many head-starts are good, I think."
Polette
"You seem quite surprised." He laughed. "Don't worry about it, most creatures are surprised by my family. I kind of like standing out a bit." He smiled; his family brought him nothing but joy, no matter what.
"Well, sometimes. I wouldn't say it always works out, but as long as you look at it positively, it's not so bad." His toes flexed, and he thought about the words a bit more carefully. If he had chosen to take a negative route after all the bad things in his life, he never would have made it past cubhood.
"Well, my path seems to just be wherever my paws step. The unknown is the most desirable of futures, is it not? The greatest high- not knowing if you'll still be there the next day. I quite enjoy being high on those feelings." He laughed, showing his teeth as he did so. He thought that by now, she must think him crazy, but at least he was speaking his mind, something that he rarely did with others, let alone females.
Seaki
"Just a little," she agreed. "But to each his own, right?" She grinned a little, golden fire sparkling in mirth. Her years perked forward a bit on his view on family - she supposed that would be correct, but she really didn't have a family to call her own, simply guessing at it.
Despite, she gave a small sound of agreement in the back og her throat.
"The Unknown?" Asha asked. She was simply a hunter, but her journeywoman-hood made to travel from her caccoon of saftey. "Do things not become mundane after a while? Is that why you travel?" She was asking too many questions for her own liking, but she was curious
Polette
"Mhm, the unknown, my dear." He nodded, a knowing smile on his face. "You know that feeling you get when you just start running, not knowing or caring where you're going? I do love that feeling." He grinned, thinking of all the times he had just run off.
"In my life, things are never boring or mundane. I just....hate repition." He turned his head to the side, eyes far off in guilt. His father had been the same, and his grandmother, and every generation in his family. It was a detestible trait, mainly for someone who was really trying to make his life with a family. It had torn his family apart at the seams, turning his grandfather into a cold, bitter male after his abandonment by his mate and his son. They needed 'adventure' and needed to 'see the world before they die.' "But everyone needs a little adventure, right?" He tried to blur it all away, thinking that he could really be different; that he could be the father that his cubs needed.
Seaki
Asha gave a small nod of understanding, She hated mindless repetition as well, but he seemed to be going to a much deeper lever - one that she herself could not understand. One that she would possibly never undertand.
She gave a small frown, watching his far off look - eyes shrouded in what looked like something firecely negative. She didn't undertand it, it was so baffling. She just hope dshe would never feel that pain as well.
"Yes, but - everyone needs a place to return to, as well. When they complete that adventure," she said, speaking more from her own experiences and her longing to return home. She couldn't imagine the feeling of not being able to return.
Polette
"Yeah. Good thing I have one to go back to." He smiled at the leopardess. It had been a....strange conversation, to say the least. Every once in awhile, he ran across another that actually cared about his life, instead of just the fun they could have for a little while.
"I suppose I should get back to that." His eyes flicked to the side, knowing exactly how to return home from practically anywhere. If his travels were good for anything, they sure did give him an amazing sense of direction. "It was fun, love." He winked at her, moving to leave. "Maybe another time we can actually have some fun." He smirked and turned, starting to trot his way home.
Seaki
Asha gave a short laugh, and nodded a short goodbye. "See you around," she called, heading back in her own direction, not looking back to see where he had gone. After a short moment, she realized she hadn't gotten his name, but that didn't totally matter.
With a small calm breath, she began running again, hoping to make it home soon, steps rejuvinated by the odd coversation she just experienced.
