Zoan Devil Fruit {Animal Abilities}



Zoan literally translated as Animal System, is a type of Devil Fruit. This type of fruit allows the user to transform into an animal and animal-human hybrid forms at will

Effects
A Zoan fruit allows the user to transform into one other species. This type of fruit provides three forms: the user's natural form, a fully transformed type, and a hybrid form, combining both original and fruit-bestowed species into an odd form (usually in a bizarre way where the size is greatly exaggerated). The only known hybrid forms of human users shown so far that was not bipedal is the Hebi Hebi no Mi series (as snakes don't have legs).

As stated in an SBS, if the user's original form was the same as the fruit's bestowed species, taking the fruit would enhance the respective species' talents, making the user the epitome of his kind. In the case of humans it would manifest as intelligence, which humans specialize in, and the person would be described as having reached enlightenment.

Strengths
The Zoan fruits mainly improves physical abilities and allows the user to use his or her three forms to adapt to a situation during a fight to find the form that gives the biggest advantage.

Zoan powers are usually utilized for their hybrid form, as this form usually (seen thus far) enhances the physical statistics of the user by combining positive attributes from both the user and the physical-level equivalent of the Zoan species. Having this advantage being based on the user's strength, though minimal on normal humans, proves to be an excellent physical enhancement for people of superhuman levels. Zoan fruits are thus favored among already superhuman users who prefer to enhance their physical abilities for the use of martial arts. This as well as creating new fighting styles.

In their hybrid form Zoan users experience enhanced senses, as this form uses a combination of both user and fruit abilities. Skilled Zoan users are also capable of using their powers to shape-shift out of harm's way; this is particularly useful, especially when the Zoan's body has been restrained, as Chopper demonstrated so many times (such as Chopper switching from heavy point to the smaller brain point to dodge a strike).

Zoan could be considered amongst the least impressive type of Devil Fruits as they solely rely on brawn power and that some are very weak i.e the Inu Inu no Mi Dachshund model. However, rare Zoan's such as those labeled "Mythical" may display some attributes of Paramecia and/or Logia classes to generate rare and incredible powers combined in one person; the phoenix's rare ability to instantly regenerate from any wound makes it virtually equivalent to Logia users in damage tolerance, and its ability to generate fire also further gives it similar abilities to the Mera Mera no Mi.

-Switching Forms for any situation, basically well rounded
-Zoan users with mystical fruits can have some element powers doubling there over capabilities

Weaknesses
Physical powers granted are limited to just the capabilities of the proportionate physical equivalent of the animal they are able to transform into. In hybrid form, these strengths of both species may be combined, but again seems to be just a mixture of both forms.

Sub-Categories

Among the Zoan Devil Fruits and users, some of them can be categorized together into common types with common traits depending on what type of animal they turn into

Carnivorous Zoan

As stated by Tony Tony Chopper, carnivorous animals are more predatory and bloodthirsty than others by nature and as carnivorous species tend to be better adapted for combat. Users that turn into such animals are naturally more dangerous and powerful in physical combat, and may have useful features such as claws to aid in a fight. One of the most extreme examples of such a Zoan user is Rob Lucci, who went as far as to maul his opponent in full-leopard form.

Ancient Zoan

As stated by Scratchmen Apoo, this is apparently a much rarer type of Zoan Devil Fruit which allows the users to transform into ancient and extinct animals, such as prehistoric reptiles like the dinosaurs. The only Ancient Zoan that has been shown so far is wielded by X. Drake, allowing him to transform into a carnivorous dinosaur, the tyrannosaur.

Awakened Zoan

As explained by Crocodile, these Zoan's are users who have by unknown means attained the ability to be stronger, faster and tougher than what the Zoan Devil Fruits abilities bestow normally. This also includes faster recovery time, which functions involuntarily even when the user is unconscious. They also have a very "cutesy" look with a chronic runny nose, despite their strength. The four Demon Guards are classified as such users.

Mythical Zoan

Mythical Zoan fruits are an exceptionally rare type of Zoan Devil Fruits and is said to be even rarer than Logia Devil Fruits. They allow users to transform into mythological creatures (which may have special abilities that are comparable to Paramecia and Logia Devil Fruits), the sorts of which could be regarded as the subject of legends and the like. The only one shown so far belongs to Marco, the Phoenix.

Dog-Dog Fruit: Jackal Mode
Dog, Egyptian, Muily Form

Background:
The Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Jackal is a Zoan-class Devil Fruit that allows the user to transform into a full jackal or a jackal-human hybrid at will. Inu means dog, and this is one of the many Inu Inu no Mi models around. It was eaten by Chaka.

As seen by Chaka, this Devil Fruit increases both speed and power, allowing Chaka to jump onto the roof of Arabasta's castle, where Crocodile was sitting. Chaka has used this based on his emotions, turning into a Jackal when Crocodile enraged him. Chaka has only shown a single attack.

Weakness:

Jackal Fangs: This devil fruit user rely's on fast hard hitting attacks usually carry's a weapon and when striking with the weapon hits are harder

Can transform into a full Jackal to avoid damage or sneak around.

*Narikiba (鳴牙, Howling Fang): After transforming into your full jackal form, you draw your sword, puts it into your mouth, dashing towards his opponent swiping them with the blade.

Dog-Dog Fruit: Wolf Mode
Dog, Wolf, Muily Form

Background:
The Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Wolf (イヌイヌの実 モデル狼 (ウルフ), Inu Inu no Mi, Moderu Urufu) is a Zoan type Devil Fruit that allows a person to transform into a large werewolf and a full wolf. "Inu" means dog.

The powers of the fruit have been used mostly by Jyabura for combat purposes in conjunction with Rokushiki and Tekkai Kenpo in order to make him a more lethal fighter. When used together with his underhanded tactics to make opponents drop their guard in front of him, they give Jyabura an advantage that most predators in the wild have.

Weakness:
-Same characteristics as a wolf suffers same weaknesses as one

Were Moon: This devil fruit user tries to make opponents drop there guard then attack quickly but does not deliver lethal attacks, they give smaller ones to weaken opponent before going for a critical hit

Ox-Ox Fruit: Bison Mode
Cow, Bison, Muily Form

Background:
The Ushi Ushi no Mi, Model: Bison is a Zoan type Devil Fruit that allows a person to transform into both a bison-human hybrid and a full bison. This fruit is one of many Ushi Ushi Fruit models found in the One Piece world. The Ushi Ushi Fruit was consumed by Dalton of the former Drum Kingdom.

Dalton basically transforms into a hybrid-form to increase his physical power, or into his full bison form to increase his traveling efficiency.

Weakness:
-Same characteristics as a bison suffers same weaknesses as one
-Standard Devil Fruit Weakness (Thrown In Water, or Sea Stone weapons Weaken or negate Fruit Powers)

Ox-Ox Fruit: Giraffe Mode
Cow, Giraffe, Muily Form

Background:
The Ushi Ushi no Mi, Model: Giraffe (ウシウシの実 モデル麒麟(ジラフ), Ushi Ushi no Mi: Moderu Jirafu) is a Zoan type Devil Fruit that allows a person to transform into a giraffe-human hybrid and a full giraffe.

The fruit's bestowed powers, as used by Kaku, have been used mostly for combat. Combined with his Rokushiki skills and swordsmanship, Kaku uses the power of the Devil Fruit to become a stronger force in battle. Intially, due to having just eaten the Devil Fruit, Kaku had not mastered control of the fruit's powers and turned into a full giraffe when he fought with Zoro. He however quickly learned to use them to his advantage.

Weakness:
-Same characteristics as a Giraffe suffers same weaknesses as one

Box Necked: This devil fruit user users there long reach for fast attacks at a long distance, when carrying weapons this user becomes even faster.

The main fighting style of this fruit user is long range keeping there body out of harms way while they fight with there long arms and neck

* Kama Kirin (鎌麒麟, Scythe Giraffe): Used in half-giraffe form. Strikes an airborne enemy with your somewhat rectangular, and possibly hardened neck.

* Kirin Hōdai (キリン砲台, Giraffe Cannon Stand): Used in half-giraffe form. Stands like a normal giraffe, but pulls neck into your body, making it smaller.

* Pasta Machine (パスタマシン, Pasuta Mashin): Used in half giraffe form, this is your most ridiculous technique. After pulling your neck in too much from Kirin Houdai, his neck is completely gone, but his arms and legs become very long, like putting dough through a pasta machine. In this mode, you use your weapon technique to the greatest effect, because of added reach.

* Henchikirin (鞭竹林, Bamboo Whip Forest): Used in half-giraffe form. Whips your neck, hitting the opponent repeatedly with your head. Written with emphasis on kirin (giraffe) and can also mean "weird".

* Mōchikirin (猛竹林, Fierce Bamboo Forest): Used in half-giraffe form. In this attack, you thrust your head at your opponent with even more ferocity. Has the same emphasis on kirin as in henchikirin.

* Gekirin (逆鱗, Imperial Wrath): After using Pasta Machine, you can use yontouryuu technique this way. He uses his arms and legs to fire multiple slashes at the opponent. Has an emphasis on kirin.

Cat-Cat Fruit: Leopard Mode
Cat, Leopard, Muily Form

Background:
The Neko Neko no Mi, Model: Leopard (ネコネコの実 モデル：豹 (レオパルド), Neko Neko no Mi Moderu: Reoparudo) is a Zoan type Devil Fruit that allows a person to transform into a leopard-human hybrid and a full leopard.

The powers of the fruit have been used mostly by Rob Lucci for combat purposes and to further fuel his lust for battle. Lucci notably uses the fruit's powers to make his Rokushiki techniques like Shigan and Rankyaku more powerful with the addition of claws on his fingers and the added strength in his legs respectively. Lucci, unlike other Zoan users so far, has also used the fruit's power in a more bestial manner, having used his full leopard form in battle to attack Luffy like a real leopard with claws and teeth.

While most Zoan Devil Fruits normally allow three forms of transformations under normal circumstances, Lucci is somehow able to access a fourth form, like Chopper with his Rumble Ball, only without the use of external help. Through Life Return: Kami-e Bushin, Lucci's muscles shrink and compress, granting him a smaller and slightly more human half leopard form. In this form, Lucci is apparently faster and capable of executing more hits than his normal half leopard form, he also becomes a smaller target especialy compared to his normal hybrid-form. However, in exchange for this increase of speed, his physical power apparently lowers.

Bird-Bird Fruit: Falcon Mode
Bird, Egyptian, Muily Form

Background:
The Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Falcon is a Zoan-class Devil Fruit that allows the user to transform into a falcon or falcon-human hybrid at will. This is also noted as one of the five known Devil Fruits that allows the power of flight. Tori means bird, and due to the rarity of being one of the five known flight-empowering Devil Fruits, this is the only one of its model shown so far. It was eaten by Pel.

As shown by Pell, this Devil Fruit grants him increased speed and strength. However, as one of the five known powers that grants flight, he can also fly. This is useful in both traveling and attacking.

* Tobizume (飛爪, Flying Talon): Takes flight in your half human/half falcon form, swoops down on your opponent, and attacks with the bird talons of his hands. When using this attack, you fly so fast that he appears to be invisible.

Snake-Snake Fruit: Anaconda Mode
Snake, Amazon, Muily Form

Background:
The Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Anaconda (ヘビヘビの実　モデルアナコンダ, Hebi Hebi no Mi, Moderu Anakonda) is a Zoan type Devil Fruit that allows a person to transform into an anaconda hybrid and a full anaconda. "Hebi" means snake in Japanese. It originally belonged to some Tenryūbito who fed it to Boa Sandersonia.

The powers of the Devil Fruit were originally used by Sandersonia for the sick entertainment purposes of her Tenryuubito masters. After she was freed, she used the powers to deceive her fellow Kuja warriors. By stating that her ability to turn into an anaconda is part of the curse she and her sisters lied about receiving, she is able to give some form of justification of the curse in order to hide her and her sisters' backs from the Kuja. By doing this deceitful act, Sandersonia is able to live normally amongst the other Kuja without shame.

The powers of the fruit have also been used by Sandersonia for combat purposes. With her long hybrid body gained from the fruit's powers, she is capable of moving in snake-like patterns to both avoid and attack her opponents.

* Heavy Slam (蛇スラム, Hebī Suramu): With your tail wrapped around an opponent, you slam them head first into the ground.

* Hebigami-Tsuki: Yamata no Orochi (蛇髪憑き 八岐大蛇, Snake-Hair Possession: Eight Branch Giant Snake): Forming your hair like seven snakes, uses them, along with your own head, like a hydra-like beast to attack an opponent. The fangs of these snakes are as strong as steel, and are capable of crushing stone.

Snake-Snake Fruit: King Cobra Mode
Snake, Amazon, Muily Form

Background:
The Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: King Cobra (ヘビヘビの実　モデルキングコブラ, Hebi Hebi no Mi, Moderu Kingu Kobura) is a Zoan Devil Fruit that allows the user to turn into a large King Cobra, and in the hybrid form take the shape of a Naga like creature with a humanoid upper body. It can also give the user the ability to create and spit poison. "Hebi" means snake in Japanese. It belonged to the Tenryūbito who fed it to Boa Marigold.

The powers of the fruit have been used mostly by Marigold for combat purposes. With her long hybrid body gained from the fruit's powers, she is capable of striking her opponents at long range, constrict them, and spit lethal poison. Marigold's Devil Fruit was fed to her originally for entertainment purposes only and so while unseen being used this way, it means the Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: King Cobra has a degree of performance value.

* Hebigami-Tsuki: Salamander (蛇髪憑き 炎の蛇神（サラマンダ）, Snake-Hair Possession: Salamander): Marigold lights a match and sets herself on fire, then forms her hair into two snakes, creating a three-headed flaming snake creature. When this attack is used with Sandersonia's "Yamata no Orochi" technique, it is said to be the ultimate absolute attack, for it aims towards the target at all possible directions and leaving no percent chance of a blind-spot for the attack.

Human-Human Fruit
Smart, Human, Muily Form

Background:

SPECIAL NOTE: To have this fruit your rpc had to be a Animal first and are permanently turned into a humanoid type creature

The Hito Hito no Mi is a Zoan type Devil Fruit that allows its user to turn into a human hybrid and a full human.

The powers of the fruit have been used by Chopper for a variety of ways. Chopper mostly uses them in order to interact and understand humans. He has used them to a point that he is able talk in human whilst in his normal animal form. In the midst of battle, Chopper has also used his Devil Fruit powers in order to fight enemies with the strength given by the Devil Fruit. With the Rumble Ball he developed, Chopper can further use his Devil Fruit powers to an extent unlike most other Zoan Devil Fruit users.

Mole, Digging, Muily Form

Background:
The Mogu Mogu no Mi is a Zoan type Devil Fruit that gives it's user the power to become a mole.

The fruit's bestowed powers, as used by Miss Merry Christmas, have been used primarily for combat. During her and Mr. 4's battle against Usopp and Chopper, the way she used her mole hybrid form in a sequence of events, greatly resembled to the game of "whack a mole". Mainly when Usopp tried to use the 5-Ton Hammer on her and she kept retreating into her holes. The majority of her named techniques while in her mole hybrid form were also first seen being used during the same battle.

Background:
The Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu (ヒトヒトの実 モデル：大仏 Hito Hito no Mi, Moderu: Daibutsu?) is a Mythical Zoan-class Devil Fruit that allows the user to transform into a Daibutsu (a giant Buddha statue).

Weakness:
-This fruit has no apparent weaknesses, aside from the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses.

Background:
The Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix is a Mythical Zoan type Devil Fruit that allows a person to transform into an Phoenix hybrid and a full Phoenix. "Tori" means bird in Japanese. While this fruit's power is a Zoan, due to the uniqueness of the phoenix, the additional powers it grants may be considered similar to those of Paramecia (the somewhat "superhuman" power that affects the user's body: regeneration) and Logia (the generation of blue phoenix flames that allows him to become somewhat intangible).

This Devil Fruit gives the user increased physical attributes (as is with all Zoan type) and the rare ability of flight, as well as the possibility of launching aerial attacks.

They will usually switches back to their human form to deliver kicks, but can also enhance them with the cutting power granted by their hybrid form's talons.
