I love both of them (separately). But I think Basch is a tinny-winny bit better (*Spoiler!* because he doesn't die in the end )...
You've got the 'bad guy'- Gabranth (or Noah) and the 'good guy'- Basch. You can pick one or the other. But Basch is the good guy, so he automatically wins. Not that I'm complaining. But I want to see a FF where the good guys lose... really, I do.
