Title: I know the feeling
Fandom: Kingdom Hearts
Word count: 249
Notes: I picked that title being it mirrors the frustration I feel when I'm writing. Not much relevance to the games storylines, but I threw in a helping of references to KH, and one for FFX. Lost in frustration, and an idea found in the oddest place.

Sora sat at his desk, completely frustrated. Only...he didn't have a desk. Well at least not a visible one. It was covered in crumpled up white balls, rejected ideas cast out on 20% post-consumer recycled paper.

Nothing was coming to him, except for the dream of swimming in a pool of munny. He had entered the Destiny Islands' only writing contest hoping to get a little cash out of it. Sora was determined not to lose to the likes of a mushy romance story coming out of Selphie's mind, or a goofy comedy involving Wakka using him as a blitzball target, with Tidus doing his annoying laugh in the background.

He was glad the adults judging the competition would not allow Riku to write about his deepest, darkest forbidden fantasies. Sora already knew about those...all too well.

Taking the time to clean off the top of his desk, Sora set down a new piece of paper, wrote his name on top, and waited, tapping the desk with his pencil.

And then it hit him.

No, not an idea. A book fell off a shelf and hit him square on the head, addling his brains for a moment. He picked up the book and looked at the cover. It was Dickens' Great Expectations. That's when an idea finally came.

He would write about a young boy who had great expectations for himself (As Sora expected to win the contest), but ended up getting frustrated over his lack of progress.
