In theory, Ciril loved long walks on the beach. In theory, the beach was a sunny and pleasant place, full off… of sun and pleasantry and whatnot. Unfortunately, it was also full of sand, which had an annoying tendency to get everywhere, especially in places where one definitely did not want sand to be. There had to be some sort of cosmic law about it. It was pretty easy to understand why so many people preferred hanging out at the lake, but the beach had something that the lake wouldn’t have:
Firelizard eggs, or at least that was what Ciril was hoping for. Thus far, he had discovered only rocks. And sand. Occasionally, perhaps when the beach could stand the excitement, Ciril came across a sand-covered rock. It made sense in his mind: while firelizards were pretty rare in the Weyr, the Greens had to lay their eggs somewhere when they forgot about them. With its naturally warm sand, the beach seemed like a good place for a firelizard to lay some eggs. Ciril clambered over a sand-covered rock and nearly slipped, spreading little sand granules all over his fine clothes. Now he knew why people normally wore as little as possible when at the beach; it was just so much easier to deal with.
He frowned at his dark blue shirt and tried to wipe some of the granules off, but that only served to spread them out more, especially with the sea spray kicking up and lending its moisture to the air. Maybe not even Green firelizards were dim enough to lay their eggs in places such as this… they were probably more likely to lay their eggs directly in a tunnelsnake’s mouth than anywhere sane!
Giving up on wiping off his shirt, Ciril continued his search, which mostly consisted of looking at the ground curiously, as though he had never seen such a thing as sand before.

It was a perfectly sunny day, and B'ryn was happy to be gliding over the Weyr and the lands surrounding it on a lazy trip with Draith. I'm glad we didn't have anything to do this morning... His tone was that of anyone who had spent the entire morning sun, and now the it was starting to get high in the sky, B'ryn gave him an affectionate slap on his shoulder.
I think we should take a swim at the beach, she said, and received a slightly nod from her companion, who banked slightly and brought the beach into view before them. I'm sure you could use a good scrub.
I'm not sure what you're implying with that, he replied with a huff, but it does sound nice. And a nap.
As they began to circle toward the sands, paying no particular attention to how slowly or quickly they were going with their circles, B'ryn could help but laugh aloud. You know I'll never argue with that. They landed easily, Draith trying to backwing as little as possible so as not to kick up more sand than necessary, and B'ryn slid from his back as he crouched down to remove the riding straps. As soon as they were discarded in the sand, they were running to the water, B'ryn pulling all but her breeches and loose undershirt off in the pursuit of her dragon, who easily beat her. Once Draith had found a comfortable place in the underwater sand, where B'ryn could easily stand, he settled there and crooned expectantly as she waded up beside him, drawing up a handful of soaked sand and starting to rub him down.

Tie was going to strangle her aunt the next time she saw her, if she could remember to stay angry that long. She'd stayed in her aunt and uncle's room that night, her candidate barracks a little too far away for her tastes when it was dark and she was already tired, and it always made her happy to have her family willing to let her snuggle down amongst her cousins for a sleep. She always slept more peacefully when between two bodies for warmth, instead of the cold empty that was her bed.
The reason for her anger was waking to find that her normal clothes were gone, replaced with an outfit more suited for 'the warmer weather' according to her uncle, a snicker coming from the man over the morning cups of klah. Tie hadn't said anything more after her initial grumps, dressing herself quickly and scuttering out into the warm sky.
Her skin was used to the sun beating down on it, her shoulders bare thanks to the lack of proper shirt her aunt had left for her. It would be best to say she wasn't wearing much of anything, a thick wrapping covering her chest. It was made of good and light material, soft enough to let breezes keep her cool yet strong enough to count as a top, and the way it clung to her indicated that her aunt probably had made it specifically for her. The bottoms she wore were almost the same way, short shorts that hung no longer than her upper thigh, yet they didn't press against her as she ran out barefoot onto the sands.
Around her head Caine and Skybox soared, chirping in relation to her good mood. They liked when their person was happy, because it made them happy. Caine decided to soar ahead and check out the different rocks and spots, having hardly been to the beach before, though only moments later he came wheeling back quickly with chirps and images. There was a dragon close, but a person even closer! The other person was looking for something! and they might have seen him!!

Pazzult was free! He was eager to go swimming and enjoy the half day that was given to him. Sure he had to help serve the evening meal but that was tonight. It was still in the morning hours or maybe early afternoon and dinner was a long time away from now. In worn pants that he had cut at the knees and beaded sandals, a gift from one of his numerous cousins, the teen was in such a good mood that he did not pay any heed to the fact that several others were coming into the lake area as well.
For once, his hair was loose and curls barely touched his shoulders and the slight air current over the waters began to cool from hot sun. Oh yes, he was going to have himself a good time. Giving a whoop, he left the sandals near the shore and dove into the waters for a good splashing.
