I always find that the best time for me is right before I go to sleep at night, when I am very relaxed.

I've tried it a few , but I just don't think that it's for me. I have a hard enough time meditating, but I'm getting better at staying focused. if anyone has tips to help me stay focused, I'd really appriciate them.

not to toot my own horn here but my tip for both focusing better for meditation and also for being able to astral project better(which since we're online i'm gonna use the term AP for astral projection cause i'm lazy) is try using the technique i posted in the thread energy cleansing. it's on the main forum still though it is at the bottom. that will help calm you enough that you wont get distracted so easily.

chosen_princess I have tried it but failed. But astral projection is like outer body experiance, and i have felt it before when i was totally drugged and calm. personal opinion, being drugged and then APing is dangerous since you have no control. below is a meditation i've given some of my students to help them try APing. try it and tell me if it works for you. First off let’s explain what astral projection, or AP, is. Astral projection is a form of meditation that allows you to project or move your mind and part of your soul into different planes of reality. Now between all of the worlds is the void. The void is a place which isn’t a place. It is impossible (or at least difficult beyond compare) for a living person to go into the void. When we astral project we jump across. This is why so many people have trouble doing it is because you are jumping across a barrier that was designed to separate the worlds. But it is doable. The following guided meditation isn’t specific or complicated. It doesn’t need to be. Try it out, see what works. And if you think modifying it will help try that too. First you need to cleanse yourself and ground your energy. There are already sections on how to do this so I won’t repeat that here. After doing that you can begin astral projection. Imagine yourself standing on the edge of a large canyon. The purpose of this is you are standing on the edge of earth’s world. The canyon depths symbolize the void. The other side of the canyon is symbolic of other worlds. The colors and textures you see aren’t standardized. It may be good to take note of them or purposely visualize certain circumstances if you know it will strengthen your aping. Next envision a bridge spanning the canyon. It is good to make a light bridge rather than a wooden or stone bridge. The color is personal and works along the same lines as the canyon itself. I suggest black or dark green cliffs with a black depth and a white bridge. You now must walk across this bridge. As you reach the other side your intuition becomes the driving force behind your astral projection. You are no longer just visualizing what I’m telling you. Now you’re seeing the new worlds. Knowing ahead of time what kind of world you want to go to may help and also knowing the identity of your higher self aids in interpreting and actually seeing these worlds fluently. Once you’ve crossed over successfully pull back and open your eyes and rest for a bit. I suggest having some food and a drink. A sandwich and some chocolate is a great choice and will replenish energy as well as allow you to focus better. Try this over and over until crossing the bridge is no longer needed and aping is as simple as focusing on the idea. NOTE:there are some conepts that i did not include in this due to length and i wasnt sure everyone would want to read them. these concepts include the multiworld theory and the concept of the higher self. if you would like these explain, either PM me or post here. if enough people are interested i'll put them on this thread or start a lessons thread.

I wish i knew. Tried multiple times before and have had trouble. I've talked about this with Elfshaman and it turns out that it could help if you had a destination in mind before you tried to set out.

I'm not sure if this is 'AP'ing' or if it's just my mind playing tricks on me. But I just want to make sure so I don't do something bad or screw up something without intending to. I have a hard time sleeping for about three days in a row, every month. I know what some of you are thinking, and yes, I do believe that it and the other monthly thing are related. I don't know why and I don't care. But, a couple weeks ago, my friend told me about how she calms herself and relaxes herself so that she can sleep when she's having trouble doing so. Basically you lie down flat on the bed, cup your hands and whatnot, and just relax. Then, starting from the feet, you imagine them disappearing or being erased until you make it all the way to the top of your head. Then your body is relaxed and your mind is calm and you can move whichever way you want and fall asleep. Two nights ago I did it, no problem. But last night something new happened. Once I was all 'erased' I stared thinking of these like binds around my wrists and ankles being untied, allowing my spirit to flow free from my body or something like that. I thought nothing of it, and tried to move my hands, I couldn't. So then I decided to imagine the bonds being re-tied, and after that, I could move. I honestly don't know much about any of this stuff. Only little bits and pieces that my friend and her sister talk about. So I just want to make sure that I'm not opening a can of worms every time I try to relax to go to sleep.

Just like Stardust, I'm not sure if this is APing or not, but I decided to try just a simple meditation, and maybe AP. I closed my eyes, and relaxed. I'm not sure if I was just imagining this, but I saw my house below me, and I shot off down the street to my friend Brianna's house, and into her room. I saw her reading with her nightstand lamp on. Then I 'flew' to my father's house where he and his wife were arguing again. I finally ended up at my school, walking slowly down a hallway next to my recently-deceased teacher. When she was alive, she needed a cane or a scooter to get around, but she wasn't using either, and she was actually glowing.
When I did this the next day, I started out in blackness and saw myself standing a little bit away, maybe 5 ft. Then I started dancing around these symbols that looked like a mixture of half of the yin-yang and an Indian/Hindu symbol I'd seen before. They were warm colors. After this, I was running through a forest, playfully chasing something.
That's it, not sure if that helps at all.

ok to the last two people who posted. both of you are experiencing similar phenomena. stardust- by releasing the binds you pretty much did a form of astral projection meditation. i use the above technique because sometimes the feeling of loos of control can freak people out. but that is actually probably a better technique. the erasing thing works on the principle of releasing your attachments to your mind which releases any stress you have.
to P- the first sounds like earth bound astral projection. i'd say try calling the people you saw and confirm what they were doing just for fun. the second part seems like a normal meditation.

Okay. Thanks. Now that I know what's going on, I'll be able to keep control.
Also, as I am very new to all of this. Do you think I should wait until I know more about the subject to try it, or just practice the techniques above until I get results?

I have attempted, and failed, at APing. I have, however, experienced it unwillingly. I am a very...vivid dreamer, that's what I'll say for now. There have been nights when I feel myself leave my body. I can still feel it, laying there, and even hear things around me in the real world, but I'm not completely there. I don't think I've ever had anything beyond an earth bound AP though. I've never felt out of control though, I've always been able to wake up/return whenever I've wanted.

I haven't ever been able to experience, though I've tried. I only seem to when I don't try, and I only have a few times, and without realizing it.

(Second time posting here o.o)
So I had an odd experience just last night. My friend was sick with a cold and upset over a guy who's really not worth it last night. Even though we're miles apart, she and I are very strongly connected, so I was feeling her pain, plus the pain of having to see her hurt. In an attempt to, in the very least, send her some comforting 'vibes', I got into bed and imagined myself next to her in her room.
I saw her room like it was the middle of the day. She was sitting on her bed, and I stood next to her. I reached out a hand in an attempt to soothe her, but I couldn't hold the image after that. Then, this morning, she texted me about something she saw last night.
It was a white, smokey figure that had no features other than a head and shoulders and such. She said that it felt female. When she tried to close her eyes and sleep, she says she still saw the room perfectly, no matter how tightly she shut them. She even touched her eyelids to make sure they weren't really open. Then the figure reached out to her, but she turned her light on to go get some advil for her headache that she'd had all day.
This raises a question for me, though. Has anyone else here seen someone else's astral projection before?
