The library was always a sort of haven for the timid cadet. Severin enjoyed reading up on all sorts of things, from the records of battles in the past to things like botany. Today, he was reading up on some history, namely the details of the destruction of the Death Saurer.
He had to wonder what it was like to have to face such a monstrosity. He was curious as to how the people who fought it strategised. After all, the tactics would be quite different for people to face an army than it would to face one giant and extremely powerful Zoid. Personally, he didn't think he could deal with meeting with something like that.
As he poured through the books, his organoid, Miles sat by obediently. The black wolf looked about attentively, watching the few other patrons of the library. He was fairly familiar with the library, seeing how Severin liked to visit it.

The library... Now that was a place of real study! Of course, being outside in the nice cool air was pretty darn awesome too. Dinah always preferred reading his books outside opposed to a stuffy library. Then again, he didn't want folks knowing that he was actually quite handy with a book.
Heavy books came in handy. They made great deterrents for would be annoyers. Though, it was about time he returned his stack of political books that were about to be due. Allister, the green pattered wolf organoid of his, tagged along side, carrying one of the thinner books in its mechanical jowls very carefully.
Dinah quickly set to returning the books and decided that he needed more study material if he ever was to take over this grand republic. So he randomly chose an aisle to tromp down and nearly yelped as he saw a more timid team mate in the library studying or something strange like that. Instantly he was weary and approached with caution. That involved leaning over the table and examining the book titles.
He felt his mind shut down just looking the war history books. "Seriously? You're reading about this stuff? Why not just take one of them suckers head on and find out yourself, Severin. It could be fun, you know. A real learning experience. "
Allister wagged its tail, totally agreeing with its human. Though it did tilt its head and gave a mechanical sniff towards the other wolf. A sort of ' Hi there! ' but less formal, as if that could be any less formal.

Lorna headed toward the library, a quiet place to get away from people hopefully, Ares was being swarmed for a weapons check again. it was a pain when she already and constantly checked the weapons making sure the units weren't loose and such, but still. They had to get the mechanics to do it regardless.
A quiet place that was alwasy hard to come by, Lorna started moving through the shelves of books, pausing at a shelf opposite Dinah and Sverin looking for a book to read about mechanics. Maybe if she studied more she could get them off Ares finally with her own ability with Maintenance.
her finger scanned the titles until she found one she was looking for. "There you are." she whispered under her breath pulling a thick book from mechanics off the shelf.

Busy reading through the book, Severin didn't notice anyone coming up to him until they spoke up. Jumping at the sound of Dinah's voice, he nearly knocked the book right off the table out of surprise. Turning around quickly, he gathered his bearings as soon as he can as he stared at his teammate.
"Oh! H-hey Dinah... Um.. well... there a-are no Death Saurers.. I think.. so k-kinda hard to learn first hand..." he stammered, "Th-though I think I'd rather not f-fight one for real... anyway..."
Unlike his pilot, Miles took notice of the approaching people earlier on. For a moment, he glanced up at his human. One of these days he was going to toughen up the guy... somehow. He then got up onto his feet to greet the other wolf in return.
Spotting Lorna nearby as well, Severin waved to her meekly, wondering what book it was she had grabbed.

He waited and supressed a laugh while the guy startled. Heh, it wasn't really hard to do. Heck! Dinah probably couldn't sneak up on someone if he really tried. But in a library? He was just plain awesome.
A pleased smirk crossed his face.
"Right... I'm sure there is one one out there still. Somewhere. Maybe in a lab being tested on. Or being minaturized for some sick play toy or something.." He leaned against the table and absently thumbed through the book that had the most pictures. ( Yes. He researched which books had the most pictures for times like this. ) "I think it would be fun. Hard, but fricking fun. "
Allistar wagged his tail and sat down, tilting his head to the side and everyone around him. Not really a good place to be, what with shelves all around and what not, but hey! He couldn't complain. He'd rather be outside. Suddenly bored, he laid himself down and rolled onto his side to complete the bored look.
Dinah gave a wave to the girl through the shelves. He had spotted her, but he figured he'd wait a bit. One one-thousand, two-one thousand... Long enough! "Howdy Lorna! Whatcha got there? "

Lorna turned flipping through the book. There were diagrams, and a lot of words, and quite a bit of complex math equations inside. Lorna looked up to see Severin offer a meek wave, Lorna offered a polite wave in return and was going to leave the two to their conversation and praying neither of them would talk to her so she could be on her merry little way.
Not if Dinah had anything to say about it apparently.. Lorna sighed inwardly while offering Dinah a quiet hello. "It's a book on advanced mechanics for Zoids and other Machinery." She said dryly. Most people wouldn't find the subject very interesting but then again you'd have to know what you're doing to maintain a zoid.

Severin nearly let out a whimper at the thought of a death saurer still out there. Something as destructive as that shouldn't ever exist in his opinion. There was just no good that could come out of it really.
"I don't know about that..." he responded quietly. Being in the heat of battle wasn't all that ideal to him. If there was a way to avoid a conflict without loosing out too much, he'd go with that. Not to mention that his ability to fight really wasn't that great compared to others. He'd have to find a way to take down his opponents without tackling them head on.
And against a Death Saurer... there weren't many other ways aside from 'head on'*
Looking over towards Lorna again, he tilted his head as she mentioned what book she was looking through. A handy choice she seemed to have made. He probably could brush up on mechanics himself too sometime.
"Is there something wrong with your Z-zoid? Or just for future re-reference?"
Allister wasn't the only one who was bored. Miles just tried to relax while idly listening in on the humans around them. It would be nice to go run around, but that wasn't a good idea in this area.

Dinah gave the timid boy a friendly slap on the back. "Well? We won't know until we try! So lets go find us a Deathsaurer and try! " ... A little blood thirsty? Maybe. That and this restriction was driving him nuts. Dinah wanted off this base for at least an hour. An hour would be nice.
Dinah blinked at Lorna and tilted his head to the side frowning severely in thought. Math... He didn't like math. And that whole maintaining a Zoid thing required a lot of math. "Good for you!" He shot her two thumbs up as a sign of his approval.
The green organoid did the equivalent of a face palm for anyone with paws instead of hands. His squishy was an idiot at times. A real idiot.

"It's for future reference, more or less." she told to Severin "Ares is going through a maintenance check right now, it should be almost finished." The more they saw how well he was maintained the less checks they would have to do. And the better for her, she hated it when others fiddled around with her Zoid.
find a Deathsaurer was he suicidal? The answer seemed apparent, enthusiastic about it too. Lorna sighed inwardly again what an idiot.
"I take it you dislike math," she said flipping to the next page now that she started from the beginning. Lorna glanced to the wolf Organoids, they were pretty cute she supposed, it might be nice to have one as a friend she thought absently before focusing back on the book though she kept her ears open to any other comments that would be made.

Miles glanced up at Dinah for a moment, wondering if the guy was crazy for wanting to hunt down a Deathsaurer. While he did want his human to 'man up', he didn't want it to happen by going on a suicide mission.
"I really don't think that's a good idea..." Severin said softly before glancing down at the book he had. The stories of its power were quite terrifying, and he had to wonder if the people who fought it and survived were now traumatized for life.
"Oh! Th-that's nice... I think..." he mumbled with uncertainty, "Never hurts to l-learn more..."

Dinah did come off as suicidal. But he really just wanted to test his power against the larger Zoid. Maybe that would bring the pack together. A pack of wolves could take down almost anything! He frowned softly at the lack of confidence in the other two.
"No. It isn't. But it would be a great adventure and it would put our names in those books, huh? " he laughed softly and kneeled down, ruffling Allister's head like he would a real dog. Allister didn't really like it, but he tolerated it. After all, sometimes a boy just needed a dog and not a wolf. "I think I'd rather face a deathsaurer than the political ring. Sounds saner. "
Dinah raised an eyebrow at Lorna. No. He just didn't care to do all that work when it didn't get him anywhere but halfway down a page of paper and a headache to follow. "Not that kind of math. But That's pretty neat, I guess. I mean...if you want to end up spending days re-routing systems only to find them routed back... I say let the mechanics handle it. They know what they're doing. They went to school for that. "

She certainly didn't share his enthusiasm when it came to fighting at least testing strength, even with all the weaponry her zoid did have she honestly preferred the sniper riffle. though she was still proud of Ares for being chosen for the upgrade.
"So if you somehow find yourself alone and without a mechanic and only your damaged zoid..." she let the sentence trail. She doubted something like that would happen but who knew and so she would read and learn and then repair Ares herself when he needed it. Though some of those MRZ would be handy for armor repair. Dinah seemed to be able to dream quite big, Lorna on the other hand was happy just being normal, she didn't need any grand adventure that would leave her sitting in history. "Personally I wouldn't do Either." she answered simply.
Lorna gave a light nod to Severin "Yeah it can't hurt." she agreed.

The idea of making an impact on history seemed nice and all, but Severin wasn't exactly shooting for that. A large part of that was simply because he didn't really have the confidence to believe he could make it. But, Dinah did have a point. Political affairs were probably just as terrifying as a deathsaurer. Though facing things politically could land him a lifetime of humiliation while the worse the deathsaurer could do is kill him.
"It still wouldn't hurt to learn some t-tricks in case..." he agreed with Lorna, "A-any info you know could always come h-handy later on.."

Dinah shrugged and wandered off, though not too far to look at more war titles. Eh... all of them he already read twice. Not worth reading again. Allister gave a quiet yip of a bark, causing Dinah to look back and re-shelve that book on the political history of the dead countries that used to be here.
He decided to tune in a bit. "The liklyness of that situation is very slim. However I do see your point. Not like I'll do anything about it. " he said to Lorna. He'd have smiled, but he didn't really feel like it. Gaawd, these folks were a bore! ...Why was he here again?

He was bored, that much was obvious, Lorna could care less though "At least you can see it." she replied flipping another page. Though the chance was not as slim as he thought with all these strange happenings lately. The chances of that happening had increased.
She looked up from the book, "That is true." she agreed with Severin. It was better to prepare for everything regardless if it would happen tomorrow or not, after all one could never know what would happen the next day.
