Spring was coming in nice and lovely, if a bit hot in Divine's opinion. The man was amused as he sat by the lake, watching his youngest daughter investigating the water. Gail hadn't been to a real lake before - only the pool by their home- so he'd brought her out to let the tot get a feel for fresh water. With a cute little pink bathing suit and a look of wide-eyed curiosity, she stood on the bank, dipping her toes now and then.
"Daddy, I can go splashy, yes?" the tot inquired, excited as all get out. She'd be allowed to jump in and splash about, right? After all, it was a bit deeper and didn't have the same rules of a real pool right?
"Just be careful." Divine assured her, knowing he was in range to get her if she started having trouble.

Amber jumped, no, bolted out of the car. To Naomi's relief she actually stopped about 10 feet later. Turns out she had just gotten a rock in her sandal and sat down on the asphalt to get it out. Luckily Naomi had gotten her to put on shorts which was now protecting her bathing suit from the bumpy pavement.
"Come on Nomi! I want to go swimming!" the little girl beamed as she stood up. "I'm coming," Naomi said as she closed the car door, all of the days gear packed in a bag over her shoulder. "Hold my hand," she stated taking Amber's hand in her own. This way she wouldn't be able to bolt into the water with her shoes and shorts still on.
They made their way down the path towards the lake. As predicted, Amber's speed increased as they neared the water but Naomi held her back. "Take your shoes and shorts off before going in the water. They're the only dry ones you have," Naomi said, sitting the bag on the grass.
Amber happily obliged then proceeded to run through the sandy edge straight into the water as she cheered in glee, splashing water everywhere was she ran.

Gail blinked, looking surprised as a blur suddenly splashed into the water near where she'd been standing. With a little titter and a flick of her wings, the tot ran back and jumped in too.
Divine's eyes widened as he noticed the new pair arriving but the swan man smiled and waved politely to Naomi. "Hi there."
In a few seconds, Gail popped her now soaking head above the water and looked around, eyes wide, for the other child.

The water was a bit chilly but that didn't stop Amber from slashing down into it till only her head was viable, her hair becoming soggy from the splash. As she stood up the other child splashed in, spraying water on Amber making her giggle.
"Hi, my name's Amber!" she said to the girl who was looking at her curiously.
Naomi sat down on a towel she had laid out. "Hi," she responded to who had to be the father of the other winged girl Amber was now making friends with. "Active things aren't they?" she joked.

"Hi Amber! I'm Gail!" the swan girl greeted, laughing a bit as she looked at the other girl, "You's all wet."
After her little fit of silliness, the bird tot shook her hair a bit and grinned, "Want to play?"
"Yes they are." Divine agreed, amused by how his daughter was behaving.

"Of course I'm wet!" Amber exclaimed, unsure as to how one would be in the water and not be wet. The thought was lost when she was offered to play answering with a loud, "Yeah!"
Squishing her toes into the muddy sand she asked, "What do you want to play?"

Gail blinked for a second before smiling, "Water tag?" she asked, before tagging the other lightly and swimming off, her little wings splashing in the water. It was a silly idea for a game but at least it was something, right?
