 Dahabu was nervous. He'd...never really had to worry about the approval of a leader before. Back in the Mwana-a'lela, he'd been born in, he'd been 'family'. But here...
No. The dark lion shook his head and squinted, unused to the morning sun. He was not going to worry. Somehow, someway, he and Jasiri had decided they were not leaving. Dahabu couldn't stand the thought of leaving his mother, of loosing her again.
He looked to Jasiri and smiled nervously. He was glad she was going with them, despite the fact the sun caused her more discomfort than him. "We'll get used to it, love."

 Jasiri stayed close to her mate, both for his comfort, and the shade his larger body provided. The sun...Jasiri really hoped she got used to it quickly. She hadn't thought they'd find his mother in a pride that was active during the day! Oooooh. She returned his look with the best smile she could manage.
"I know. I do hope the...the Sultan-" That was the title for this pride's leader, if Jasiri remembered their talk with Ukoo the night before. "-does not take offense to our unfamiliarity with the day."

Ukoo was thrilled. She was so absolutely ecstatic that her children from her past were now going to be apart of her life. It was a much needed lift from the down and sad mood she had been suffering from. She padded along with them, her chewed up paw obviously sore as she walked and limped. "Oh he won't! I was like that at first but it's very easy to get used too Jasiri!" She said softly, her red eyes so alike to her sons.
"The sultan is a good soul. He will understand." She added, settling down with her sore paw lifted as to ease the tension.

There was a small gathering forming, Ukoo, a strange new female, and a new male who bore a striking resemblance to Tariq's banu. He was preoccupied and worried about the coming of age that would soon fall on the younger males of the pride, but he knew his presence was needed especially with a new male in the territory. Judging by the way Ukoo looked so pleased though he could imagine that the male and female were probably here to stay. He smiled softly not wanting his troubled thoughts to make them feel unwelcome.
"Hello there!" He addressed the male first his pale blue gaze focused on him, scanning over him and assessing him. His gaze flicked over to the female and he was glad to see the way she positioned herself near the male, there was trust there. Finally he turned and offered Ukoo the small tip of his head a smile in silent greeting.

Dahabu looked to the male that approached them. He looked exactly as his mother had described him. The dark male bowed his head in respect, forcing himself to be calm and not nervous.
"Good day. My name is Dahabu-ausi, and this is my mate Jasiri. We were wondering if we could speak with the Sultan on joining this pride, if he will have us." He hoped he'd said that right, that no offense could be taken from his words.

The splotchy lioness stayed quiet, listening and watching. She bowed her head in respect when the other male's gaze flickered to her, reminding herself that she needed to keep herself in check. For Ukoo and Dahabu's sakes.

Ukoo has a great respect for the sultan and it was not an unknown fact. She spied him and smiled to her children, she considered Jasiri her child now. Which was only proper. She nodded her head to the sultan, though she suspected there was some things he did not know about her and the same with him. Many secrets.
"My son Sultan. From my past pride." She said simply.

"I am Sultan Aali of the Ukuucha'Wafalme Pride." He introduced himself to the strangers.
Ahh, well Ukoo's words explained a lot, including why she felt safe out here near this male. The resemblance also was explained and he was glad at how happy the banu seemed.
"It's always good for families to be reunited, of course Dahabu you may remain as a Pad here as long as you understand and respect the ways of our pride."
He finally gave a soft smile towards Jasiri now that they had been properly introduced. He turned back to Dahabu then waiting to see if he was willing to remain, or if he had questions. He had no doubt Ukoo could explain but he tried to make himself as available as possible, especially to newcomers who might be confused by the unique way the pride functioned. Seeing other males as trusted brothers, the females sharing and caring for one another and all the cubs, sending away the younger males on their quest, all these things were often hard for those with other habits to adjust to. It was better to have everything properly explained and understood then risk an upset or a kajira running wild.

Yes! He and 'Siri could stay! He would have questions of course, things his mother could not answer...but he was certain he could at least ask the Sultan. "I have been told a little of how things work here, and my mate and I do wish to stay here. But I would also like to learn more. I am not one who likes stepping on others' toes, by accident or intentionally."

Jasiri was relieved that they could stay. She'd miss her Daddy-dearest...but this was best for them. Dahabu needed his mother, and his mother was here. And she needed Dahabu. And then there were the coming cubs to think of. She certainly could not travel back to the Coven in this shape, before the cubs were born. And she refused to have them grow up rogues. Rogue life had not been good, at all. She bowed her head to Aali, like she would have the king and queen she had once followed. Then she looked to Ukoo and smiled.
She could get used to this place, even if she had to be careful of her tongue in public.

Ukoo was shaking with excitement and glee. Her cub.. her cub could stay. She wasn't alone anymore. Pounds of weight seemed to wash off her back and she sighed, looking lovingly at the two lions she deemed her children. Jasiri was her child now. She bowed her head to her daughter and then looked to the sultan.
"Thank you Aali! I will do my best to aid them." She said softly, the normally pained expression in her red eyes gone. She was happy at this moment. Nothing Tariq or O'tep could say would ruin her now. She looked to her son, to her daughter, than to the sultan. "I will stay with them for a few days, if my Pad permits it... so I can get to know my son again."

Aali smiled and nodded at Ukoo and Jasiri their pleasure was like his own, happy females after all made the pride run that much smoother. He turned back to Dahabu and smiled pleased with the males desire to learn, he seemed to have an easy accepting nature.
"Of course, I am always available should you require any assistance or explanations. The basics you should understand is that our pride flourishes with love and trust. We believe that males should be as brothers to one another always standing united despite our differences. Our females, our banu, are our greatest treasure and each male cares for his harem as best as he is able. We believe that when banu work together as a unit things run smoother, cubs are cared for better, food never lacks, and there is a harmony that cannot be accomplished when single units are left to compete and fight." He smiled at Ukoo and tipped his head.
"Would you agree?" He knew Ukoo had lived a different life before being captured. Tariq was her Pad and while many might think him harsh Aali trusted the dark males judgment when it came to handling his harem.

He bowed his head to Aali. "Thank you. I think I shall adjust well to life here." After all...the beliefs didn't sound far from his own. Though he wasn't sure if he'd ever take a banu aside from Jasiri, he treasured the females in his life. Mother, mate, and any possible daughters he would have.

Oh. Well, Jasiri could certainly deal with that! She could certainly agree that things went smoother when felines worked together. And lionesses were the hunters and cub-raisers anyways. That's the way SHE was raised. Oh yes...she could get used to this place.

Ukoo nodded. "OH yes... very true sir... My Beyabanu O'tep and I are... were... are very close... it made it easier to have someone to see and to learn with.... And I will try my best at making sure my family are well adjusted. " She said, her red eyes shining as she looked to her son and daughter. "Anything to have my past back..."
She leaned against her two children, a smile on her masked face as she pressed herself into them. Her flesh and blood. Her family. It felt so good to have them
