Takako walked around the pound with a million things on her mind. Not only was she trying to make her father proud of her which was hard enough as it is, she also had to worry about four major distractions. Being a new captain of a squad who’s former captain betrayed them defiantly came with it’s own ups and down while trying to get everyone’s trust and support, not to mention being partial head of the Kuchiki household. Yet, the biggest thing by far was the thing she couldn’t help but to worry about. Being engaged and expecting isn’t exactly the stress reliever of the century but at least her fiancé was always there for her.

“I wonder what mother would do when I tell her…” The fox thought out loud as she sat under a blooming cherry blossom tree in the court yard.

As usual, Matsumoto Rangiku could be found on the second floor of the Pound, in her particularly lush personal quarters. Or, most of her could be, anyhow. At the moment her posterior was the only bit visible, as she was bent over, rummaging through a mini refrigerator in the corner. The cat hummed as she did so, her butt swaying gently to the melody.

After a moment, she finally straightened, fist raised in victory, clutching a bottle of her favorite kind of sake. The little refrigerator was actually full of the stuff, but she had a lust for this particular brand right now, and she had to have it.

Satisfied with herself, she set off down the stairs to relax in her favorite squishy chair by the fire, and enjoy her sake. She stopped in her tracks, however, as she caught a glimpse of a familiar face through a nearby window. Quickly making up her mind, she took a large swig of sake and headed towards the courtyard.

The fox scratched the back of her neck and sighed roughly, not quite sure how or where to find her mother. "I think the first thing I do is thank her for my lovely outfit," the girl mumbled as she looked down on herself to see only a little obi covering her upper half up. She wasn't quite sure if it was exactly her mothers doing but it was the closest guess as to whom it would be. "Then I'll tell her about my engagement and being pregnant, I'm sure she'll take it better then father did..?"

Once again she was thinking out loud and that could very easily be the death of her at some point if she said something out of line that someone might hear. Either that, or people and shinigami alike will think Takako is clearly insane to some degree. "Okay! You can do this... if only I knew what mothers reiatsu felt like." Kuchiki groaned and rolled her eyes, finding everything pretty hopeless right now.

Matsumoto, on the other hand, knew her daughter's riatsu, as well as that of the rest of her children. It seemed to be something instinctive, not unlike an animal knowing the scent of its young. She had been secretly keeping an eye on all of her children as they had grown up, though she'd not had much contact with any of them besides Katashi. By following their reiatsu, she had checked in on them on a weekly basis without them ever realizing she was there.

She had spent enough time lurking and watching though, and had been feeling guilty about it for some time. Bolstered by a second swig of sake, she approached the redheaded fox.

Takako blinked at a familiar reiatsu, knowing she's felt it some time before and quite often for that matter. Instinctively she placed her hand on the handle of her zanpactou in case there was any danger. Slowly she stopped in her tracks and began to shift her body weight to see who it was behind her.

Blinking, the fox looked over confused as ever at the other redhead. "Arisu...? Is that you?" She asked, squinting her eyes and trying to make out the figure. It looked a lot like her sister but the reiatsu was so off and the faint sent of sake lingered in the air around them. "...Arisu, if father caught you drinking you would be in so much trouble." The girl said with a slight chuckle that sounded like her mothers.

'Ah-ha, she's spotted me...' The lieutenant thought with a smile as she continued her approach. By the time she reached the other redhead, she had swallowed about half of the bottle of sake. Every step she took was bolstered a little more by the fire in her belly.

Despite her liquid courage, when she finally reached the cherry blossom tree, words failed her and she just stood there for several seconds, blinking at her first view of one of her daughters, all grown up, from close up. Wavering slightly, a smile slowly spread over her face. She could see so much of herself in Takako.

"Oh yeah father's go.." Her words failed her well. There she was, her mother. Takako shook her head and rubbed her eyes from disbelief and confusion, not to mention the over-whelming smell of alcohol in the air. Subconsciously the girl placed a hand on her firming stomach, still trying to comprehend that her mother was right there in front of her.

"M-Mother? Is that really... you?" She asked with a hint of the smile, tilting her head to the side almost forgetting everything she wanted to say. Quickly enough she slid her zanpactou in its holster and shot up from her seat, hugging her mother close without really thinking about it.

Had Matsumoto been a little more on the sober side, she may have been slightly taken aback by the sudden embrace. As it was though, she squeezed her daughter tight, resisting the vague and inexplicable urge to spin her around in a circle. She wasn't a little kid anymore, she had to remind herself.

"It's me, kiddo," she said with a lopsided grin as she finally drew back far enough to look her daughter in the eye. "I'm glad to see you inherited some of my... Characteristics," she said with a glance downwards at the fox's rather ample assets. Not quite as large as her own, but then, hers were a bit excessive. Perhaps asking how she had been, or what was new would have been more prudent, but alcohol was never known to grant one social grace.

“Oh! Speaking of which…” She paused to think of the right words to say so they wouldn’t sound harsh or mean in anyway. “Did you decide on my outfit?” Takako looked down at her rather reveling choice of a top and frowned lightly, even though her sister’s wasn’t much better. All she knew was that her father didn’t exactly like that look on his daughters, making her roll her eyes some.

The fox had to tell her mother about her engagement and pregnancy but would she really understand being slightly impaired as she was..? It was kinda like a game of Russian Roulette, hit and miss type thing. The girl looked over at her red haired mother and decided it was now or never. “Ugh, mom? I have something I need to talk to you about.”

"Hmm?" The busty feline blinked a few times before fully comprehending the question, then burst into laughter, nearly losing her balance in the process. Putting out a steadying hand on her daughter's arm, she shook her head in amusement. "Takako, honey, I let all of you kids pick out your own clothes when you were this high." To demonstrate, she held one hand about knee-high to herself. "Your father, of course, didn't come along on that shopping trip." Her grin spoke volumes about what she thought about the whole affair. "Let your children express their individuality, that's what I've always said," she finished with a sage nod, though some of her wisdom was stolen by her slight slur.

"So what is it you wanted to talk about, hmm?"

She blinked and helped out her mom, making sure she doesn’t fall or lose her balance any more then her mother already has. “Maybe you should stop drinking for the rest of the night…? You seem to be pretty impaired as it is.” Takako smirked lightly and didn’t exactly believe her mom’s story of taking them shopping, but I guess if Matsumoto says it happened then…it happened? Right? Then again, she’s heard of drunk people telling stories that stretch the truth.

“Okay, well …I think you should sit down for them.” The girl wasn’t exactly sure how her mom would take the news of her going to me a mother-in-law and a gran
dma, especially all in the same sentence.

(( I hope I'm not making poor Matsumoto too OOC. -w- I haven't watched Bleach in like a year. ))

"Hmm?" She murmured, taking a seat on the conveniently placed bench beneath the tree, as suggested. "I'm fine, darling. Your mother can put away a lot more than a mere half a bottle of sake." Said bottle was waved in the air with the words as if to say "Don't tempt me".

Making herself comfortable on the hard wooden bench, Matsumoto raised her arms above her head in a satisfying stretch that exposed her breasts almost more than was decent. Feeling better, she grinned at her daughter and beckoned for her to sit beside her. "Now, let's get whatever's on your chest off of it, hmm?"

((I think you’re doing good xD <3 I can see Matsumoto acting like this, lol))

Takako arched an eyebrow and sat down next to her mother, taking a deep breath and rubbing her palms together. “O-Okay! So before I tell you anything I want to let you know I took full responsibility for everything and it’s all going to be okay and work out!” She paused and smiled some at the thought of everything.

“So, I’m …engaged to a wonderful guy who is very respectful and very loving to me. Um, this might sound kinda crazy but we think that we’re each others soul mates; we just feel so complete when we’re together.” The woman sighed happily and bit her lip at the second part. “…and with that, you’re going to be a grandmother at some point this year.” Her hand subconsciously moved to her stomach and a smile naturally appeared on her face.

(( Yay. :'D ))

There was a brief pause as the feline's foggy brain processed this new, unexpected information. For a moment her face was screwed up in what might have been a scowl, or what might simply have been her "thinking face".

Suddenly though, the internal conflict seemed to be resolved, and quite firmly too, as she let out a loud squeal and threw her arms around her unsuspecting daughter. "That's wonderful! I'm so glad I found you now, before I missed any of this!" There was a small pang of jealousy deep in her gut at Takako's description of her husband-to-be, and the dreamy look on her face as she thought of him. Yes, Matsumoto had four beautiful children, but she had them unexpectedly, with a man she didn't particularly care for. She had never found anything like her daughter had, and she was getting older... She might never find it.

None of this registered fully in her conscious mind, however, the alcohol helping matters. The jealousy quickly faded, and with a hand on the expecting mother's stomach, she murmured mostly incomprehensible words to what she now recognized as the slight lump of pregnancy.

The fox wrapped her arms around her mother with a sigh of relief, expecting something totally different then a squeal and hug. She remembered when her and her fiancée told her father about it, let’s just say he wasn’t the must understanding and did show how much he didn’t approved of it not by his actions but by his choice in words; thankfully though, all that was quickly settled. “Y-You’re not upset or disappointed in me?” Takako asked still not fully believing everything that was just said but at the same time it calmed her down a great deal knowing that one of her parents approved from the start.

She gigged a little when she felt her mothers hand on her firming belly and smiled softly, “Father wasn’t the happiest person when I told him that I was expecting. First my husband-to-be and I went for his approval and he said no because we are to tongue then I thought telling him I was pregnant would make him say yes …and that didn’t work either.”
