Yana, the middle child of Aang and Katara, is no bender, but a spiritual medium. After a childhood of fear that the line of Avatars has finally run dry, she is determined to go out into the world to discover the Avatar herself, and she leaves with only her experience as an itako.
On the way she will meet many friends and old faces. But is there a deeper reason she seeks the Avatar? She must find him quickly, before a dark force comes forth to claim the savior of the world as a game piece in world domination.

Rules:
1. Be courteous to your fellow RPG members, even if they play bad guys. This is a fun RPG and we don't want chaos.
2. Be fairly literate. I'm not asking for perfection but I would like at least a paragraph per post, unless a situation dictates otherwise, and good spelling and grammar.
3. Don't godmod a character. This includes canon characters as well. You're welcome to use filler characters such as a random villager for a post or two, but no more.
4. All canon characters are to be controlled by myself unless I chose to change things around in the future. I'm mostly waiting for the guild to settle.
5. All profiles are to be emailed to me for acception. Please don't clutter up the RPG pages. I will edit in your profile once you've filled out my skeleton.
6. Have a good time, and be sure to input suggestions once in a while! See you around RPGers!

"Yana, what are you drawing?"
At the wind whipped peaks of the Southern Air Temple, the sounds of children laughing and playing were abundant. The smell of sweetgrass tinged the air, and several of the Avatar's many children were playing on the AirBall court. But for Yana there was no time to play. She had a vision.
"Its something I saw mother. In a dream."
"Another one of your visions?"
Katara had grown lovely with the years, motherhood having brought it to full circle rather than dimming it. When Aang, despite his best efforts to be a good father, was gone on a mission of peace, she cared for her children in valiance. But Yana was the type to take care of herself, even at eight.
"Yes. It was a little more frightening this time but I think it has to do with one of father's...erm...aquaintances."
The drawing was half done. In the center laid a long centipede, with a blank face. But around it Yana was drawing all sorts of different faces, each one complete with a chain around the many spindly legs of the monster.
"It's Koh." Yana said as her charcoal stained fingers drew and drew, "The Face-Stealer."
"What...why are you drawing him?"
"Father must have met him once. He needs to talk to him. Isn't father back yet?"
"I'm sorry," Katara looked apologetic, "He's still negotiating with the Earth Kingdom on the Fire Nation colonies and won't be back for a week still."
"But it's important," Yana pleaded, "If he and Koh-"
"I know it's important," Katara nodded, placing a gentle hand on her reclusive daughter's shoulder. "I know. But perhaps it would do well to wait."
Her father would come home that week, triumphant and happy to see his children. But he also came home with a virus that stole him away that very night.
Yana would spend eight years looking for him from the comfort of her room. And for eight years she would suffer failure. ____
Yana was now far older. In the darkness of the night, she had shut her windows and drawn the blind, plucked the bitter roots of the jube-jube plant and crushed them into a burning, acrid incense, and was deep in meditation. But tonight was no night for seeking her father...no. He loved the scent of sweetgrass and an open window, everything was all wrong there. No.
She sought Koh.
Her face needed no practice in staying smooth and free of emotion. A heavy experience with spirits aided in that. So she slipped away, eyes falling shut as her spirit became projected into that misty realm.
She found his grotto. She climbed down the hole and soon enough heard the clicking of many spider-like legs.
"Child of Aang," Koh said in the oily snake-like voice, "Your father has been eight years too late."
"I come, in his stead," Yana said slowly. Koh flashed ferocious, frightening faces before her, but she remained as immobile as stone, "To speak of what you wished to speak."
"Ah yes, well it appears there's been...a bump."
"A bump?"
"Aang's Avatar spirit had been badly damaged from his years you know," he crawled around as he spoke, losing interest in the bland-faced medium, "As a result, the cycle of Avatar reincarnations has been upset." He zoomed in immediately with the terrifying face of a monster. "THE NEXT AVATAR IS LOST!"
"Can you find them?"
"The Avatar belongs to the world, not to me," Koh slithered away, "But you child, being a human, have the best chance of finding him."
"Thank you." Yana said, eyes set. "I'll do that."
That morning, Yana's room was empty. Not a note of explanations or goodbyes were left. It was as if she had wiped herself off the face of the Earth.

Sachi sat at the edge of a lake, playing with the water. She made little ripples, watching them spread to the center of the lake.

Yana could not airbend, but from much practice she had learned to climb down the heady slopes of the Airbender Temples. She walked and walked until finally. A village. It was by a long lake, bordering the village and controlled by a man-made system of ravines to keep it from flooding.
Yana kept to herself. She didn't need much help...she was never much to attract attention to herself. She walked to the other side of the lake, cupping her hands in a drink. The water rippled in rhythmic movements. It wasn't Yana though. Who?
"Oh..." Yana looked over. Only a few feet away, there was someone. "It's you."

"Sachi," Yana sighed, "Of all the people to run in first."
She gave her cousin a hug. For all the few times they'd been together, it was Sachi who pulled her together after the sudden death of Aang. The funeral...all that Yana couldn't express to her father...it had almost smothered her.
"Where's Aunt and Uncle? What are you doing here?"

Yana's face fell. She was never one for much smiling to begin with. "I...I'm on a bit of a mission I suppose." She turned away. "It's nothing I can't handle on my own. I have what it takes."

"No, Sachi, you don't understand." Yana shook her head. Sachi was so sweet and caring, but this was serious business. "Anything I can handle deals with the very planes of the spirit realm. Crossed borders, lost spirits...I'm on a mission to seek something....that the world lost. Something that got mixed up."
