The doe had taken shelter in the safe area a distance from her favored pond. Under the protection of the bushes and branches and lush overhang she sitting. Even in such a state she would be determined to have a favorable position. To mess up her hair would be like angering a higher presence.

Her night with the buck had been successful, her use for him done. She would begin the rise of her empire. Strong genes would be supple for her cause. She was determined to bare many to her name. She wiled it to happen, although such could only go so far. She had heard tales of crafty kimeti that took the shape of another creature that often blessed kimeti, expecting does particularly peeked her interest. Recently an unbearable child, a strange bright red and striped doe had found her way to the pond and excessively went on about such things. It made little sense and her messed up words probably had not helped. Desire would ignore it as crazy ramblings but Desire patched it together. If she were to be a step ahead, she must not determine fact and fiction from one listen. The tale fit perfectly.

The doe wanted to go out to find such a bird herself and inquire about a blessing, it seemed unlikely that it would be able to find her. She willed it so but sitting here would do no good. She found herself striding back to the pond. Even creatures of legends needed water and this was one of the more nicer ponds. It was better than searching without any leads through this vast land.

She didn't sit this time though, but she still found herself looking down into the water's reflection and once again waiting for a fly to fall into her trap.

User Image Her sights were set. There was a rather delicious looking bug on the flower before her, and it would be a lovely snack. She was currently trilling through the swamp as Other, rather than Self, but that was easier. What with her beauty, if she would walk around willy-nilly she'd never get anything done! Well, anything fun, really.

Back on track! The bug was close to death, and she was close to feeling sated. She needed to keep her feathers shiny and lustrous! Not that there was any competition in the swamp. She was Streaked-Sky, legendary beauty!

And then she looked past the bug, at the golden-haired kimeti staring into the pond. Her hair was quite lovely, as were her markings and her oddly shaped shoulder scale, but she just looked mean. She also looked like she was carrying young, but it was hard to tell.

Bug forgotten, Streaked Sky ambled down to the pond, and landed on a lower lying branch. She turned her head to and fro, trying to figure the other out. Letting out a chirp, she circled the gold hair once, twice, before going back to the branch. It's not like the other would know what was happening, anyway.

Desire caught the whiff of a pink blur flying around the area. It was odd to see a bird of that colour in this season, and it fit the description R-R had described as she'd gone on about at her stay near these waters. But that alone was not enough. Observation on myth not complete. She greeted the bird's chirp with a glance and then, "Are you here for a drink? It's quite safe. I, myself hope I bare many strong young near here."

She could never help not looking into the pond though, as she sat near it, even when she had company her eyes would be drawn to it. It couldn't be helped though with her looks. The water was quite clear compared to the rest of the water's around here, nearly tucked away in this little piece of paradise. She could stay here for a long time, start her empire, but soon she'd have to move on for beauty such as this brought enemies to and throw.

The pretty doe talked to her? She must be crazy, then, since that's the only reason to talk to a songbird that's not a pet, thought Streaked Sky. Then again, the doe probably just probably thought she was too pretty to pass up! Who wouldn't talk to her?

The compliment was so nice that Streaked-Sky thought she could bless the other kimeti for a fruitful hoard of little kimeti. She probably would anyway to try and keep beauty in the swamp (since breeding opportunities for her weren't very forthcoming at the moment).

Well then, with that settled, she fluffed her feathers, and a voice not entirely her own sounded throughout the clearing.

"You are set to bear young? I can increase the blessing of motherhood, if you so choose."

Of course, she could just bless her without asking, but that's hardly very nice!

Desire was a little drawn back when the bird spoke. Although she had her suspicions and was ready to accept myths to be fact, she had also concluded the doe earlier was probably just crazy. She took a minute, breathing slowly. It was a minute she needed to adjust to the event and calm herself so that shock of her suspicions revealing themselves as truth did not overwhelm her flail bodily state. After the minute had passed she finally turned her head to the bird who was fluffed up and waiting.

"I am set to," she replied as calmly as she could to the creature who was certainly not the normal bird it played off as probably most of the day. "My appreciation would be much if you'd be so kind."

Well, alright then. Since it was decided (and Streaked Sky was doing a little better than last time) she rubbed her wings together in preparation and flew to hover before the kimeti's snout.

"I do not know much of the pangs of motherhood or childbirth, but I know now that yours will be fruitful, and that the children of your labor will be blessings to you in themselves. They will have wills of iron and hearts of steel. Take heart, if you will."

This one was going fantastically compared to last time! She was just getting so good at these blessing things! But talking all important and stuff was kind of annoying.

For show, Streaked Sky's kimeti form shimmered in the water as the bird's reflection, and then both were gone into the swamp in a flash of bright color and song.

Desire gleamed at the water, seeing the true form of the bird. She had been blessed, and she would bare many strong children thanks to the donation of the strong buck who'd helplessly found itself trapped in her web and that bird. The bird was gone now though, it's job complete. She had not thanked it as it disappeared, nor was it in her to. She appreciated it, however. If anyone were to be confused she would right them so.

Satisfied with what she had gotten, she too disappeared from the surface of the pond and headed into the well protected shelter she had prepared. Soon they would be born and she would watch over them as sacs, so that no harm would come to the blood she worked so hard to achieve.
