I think Gaia has finally learned to interpret the psychic messages I have been sending them about my dissatisfaction with their shoes. I found eight pairs of shoes in the new update I want to get.
What did everyone else think of this update? Loved it? Hated it? Which shoes did you like? Would you change or improve anything in the latest update?

Loved it, and the hairstyles too. Some of the shoes before were kinda... eeeh "iunno" looking too me. You know, those shoes that are all bulky, off-colour and have a weird shape to them?
Ormaybeit'sjustme.
I like the Audrey's heels recolours though, we really needed new high heels that didn't make the feet look funny.

I'm soooo happy with this shoe update. I'm glad they gave us new, good shoes. Most of the shoes have good shapes and angles. I'm glad that they gave us so many colors that we needed. I like the shoes so much, though, that I wish we got more black and white options in these styles.
I'm mostly happy over having decent gold shoes. Our old options were either expensive or... just not the right shape and/or hue.
My normal rule is to always buy gold shop items on sale in the marketplace. I don't think I can wait though. I've got to give in and buy these shoes at full price. I'm in dire need of 'em. D;

¨*:·.♥.·:*¨ I liked it, but I generally like any type of update as it means more options :p
I like the Hime hair as I said in the main thread but can't see myself ever really using it...especially since I JUST got a new salon hair *doh*
I bought a couple of shoes, but mostly because I knew I'd need them at some point in time or another but I don't remember being like OMGINEEDTHEEESE for any of them

I'll probably be looking into buying some shoes. But most of Gaia's shoes look awkward to me. A lot of them are small while the avatar's head is huge. Makes shoe shopping so hard.
And that Hime hair is so huge. gonk It's like an attempt to satisfy the people who were buying the Porridges at the absurd prices. I don't like the price (hate paying for store hairs, we can't re-use them...) or that hump on it's head. Oh and how it makes any avatar top-heavy.

I like a couple of the hairs,and i think that the hime might look nice with a hat,but it's sorta bulky...I love the new shoes! But i don't have enough gold to get just one pair at the moment emo

...I wasn't excited about any of the hair, I have to say. But then, they didn't put out anything multi-colored or a short shag haircut.

Yeah, they still haven't made the perfect hairstyle I want either.
I use short hair since it's easy to hide or doesn't get in the way of outfits. My old desire was to have hair that was up in a ponytail... with the overall effect being that I could work with "short hair" but it would still look like I had long hair. Once we finally got hairstyles like that, I realized that I didn't want that at all. I've given in. Even though I'd never wear short hair irl, I want my avatar to have short hair.
It looks really weird to have a ponytail, but then a bow attaches behind it. I don't always go for realism, but.. that's just not realistic. {I'll add a tektek here, but it's not working right now.}
So, I want short. I want symmetrical, not lopsided. I don't want any bit of hair to cover the eyes. I don't want ponytails, buns, etc. They always get cut off weird by hats. Or the hair equips unlrealistically with items. (Like the bow equipping behind the ponytail.) I don't want the hair to cover up the ears. I still want a strip of hair (bangs) in front of the ear. I like wearing elf ears. Hair needs to cover the line where the ear meets my avatar's face. Otherwise, the ears look too fake. The forehead can't be too high. If I can see skin above my glamrock headband, it's too high. The forehead should still be pretty big though. I don't have enough space to work with when the hairline is just a couple pixels from the eyebrows. ...I also don't like when the eyebrows are too close to the eyes. I want bangs. The bangs should be parted though. I want to be able to see glamrock headbands. My current hairstyle drives my nuts because it covers glamrock headbands. I knew that when I got it, but I just can't find any other styles I like. The color can't be weird. This pretty much means that none of the new hairstyles will work unless I use white or black. I like the old colors. The ones that are actually red, blue or green.... Not the weird neon pastel color scheme they use now. I used to use grey hair. I can't anymore. The grey hair is too shiny and weird. The new hair colors don't match my items. (Thank goodness for wigs in decent colors.) And.. well.. I don't want it to look like a boy's haircut either.
I used a few items to judge it buy. The hair must look good with the glamrock headband, satin hairbow, and horns of the demon. From there, I test it with golden laurels, raving goggles, sacred leaf, paper cat band, decorative daisy, complex headband... etc. I don't want the hair to hide one of the horns. I don't want the hair to look unlrealistic with the hairbow. I want to see the glamrock headband. Etc. There are lots of hairstyles that will give me everything I want, but one thing. And that will bug me enough to deter me from changing my hairstyle. I reallllly want to change my hairstyle, but I can't find another one. You'd think that with all the styles they've made, there'd be one that I like. They all come so close...
No bangs, too many bangs, has a ponytail, cuts off one of the horns of demon, etc~
The girl's wildflower hair is nearly perfect. And I used to have it for a long time. Thing is, my avatar looked like a bobble head. XD I eventually couldn't stand it any longer and had to change it. And I'd like it if the bangs were more parted. I'd like to see more of the glamrock headband than it shows.
tl;dr Ehehehehhh sorry. Guess I semi-ranted... half whined... In short, I look forward to salon updates. I always hope that they'll release the perfect hairstyle for me. The ones that they do release are still good... and are needed... They just haven't released a hairstyle that fits the parameters I need yet. I need something versatile that will work with many different outfits, not just one outfit at a time. So yeah, I was disappointed with this hairstyle update too. The new hairstyles are good. I'm just disappointed because my hair wasn't in this update either~

The put up the five-digits footwear... that's a new shoe line out... I bet Gaia made a deal with them and got advertising revenue from it. Have you guys seen them IRL? They're pretty.. neat.. like gloves for your feet...

I've never seen them in the stores, but I saw some guy wearing them about two months ago. I was standing in line, and the guy was a few people ahead of me. I looked once. Looked again to make sure that I really just saw shoes with toes. ...And then stopped glancing over so I wouldn't be rude. I didn't know that the shoes were new. I figured the guy had special shoes he liked to wear for surfing or.. something~

Are the real life versions that ugly-looking or are the glove shoes just bad pixeling? Because I thought they kind of looked like those little rubber shoes people wear for freeclimbing but super-ugly.

They're... different. You can see them here: http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/
I first found out about them from my masseuse. He really likes them. I think I'm going to try a pair on since some stores here in SF have 'em. They do look comfortable... but not exactly fashionable...
