I know Beltane is a month away (a little less but w/e lol)
This woman I know wants to have a Beltane celebration. I have invited a friend I met of Witchvox and she is bringing her friend. Also, my boyfriend will be there. Along with the woman's fiance and son, who is 2 I think...
Anyway. I need help. The only reason she is celebrating it is because its celebrated in Ireland. I mean, its cool that she wants to get in touch with her Irish roots, but to me Beltane is super important. Not only for the religious beliefs, but because it is the first sabbat that I was able to acknowledge and try to participate in (I say try because last year my plans were ruined due to rain razz )
So, does anyone have any idea of what we can do. We are having a fire, but not a true bonfire because our fire pit isn't that big. And all the woman says is that she wants to use body paints and stuff. She is having me plan the rest. Even though it is her idea. I would prolly be much happier doing Beltane by myself, but I'm already in this. so please, help! I know about the maypole, so we might do that, and the bonfire. but idk what else to do with that big of group. And it doesn't help that not everyone there is pagan. only 2 of us are pagan, me and my friend. The person my friend is bringing is starting to look into it, but isn't committed to it. The woman who started the event says she studies everything (but doesn't know a thing about the celebration of Beltane razz ) and everyone else is christian. Oh, and my boyfriend is an aithiest >.<
Idk what to do! Please help!

Sounds like you are in a mess. D:
Hmm... to help...
Before: Ask your friend how much she knows about the Wheel of the Year and how to celebrate different Sabbats, Greater and Lesser. This will give you an idea of how to start the celebration.
However, if you feel way too uncomfortable, let her know and try to plan for another Sabbat, if that is what you'd want.
During: If the above return results of not knowing a great amount, it is up to you if you want to make an introduction of the Sabbat. Look up things that people commonly do on Beltane. (Hint hint: CharmingPixieFlora)
~~ My boyfriend is Agnostic and will probably stay that way for a long time. As I have been walking my path, he has had questions off and on about what I do and what things mean to me. Recently he wanted to join in on celebrating Imbolc. I let him because he was willing and really got in the mood to celebrate.
Just because your SO is not of your religion, doesn't mean they won't want to join in celebrating. ;D

She only acknowledges that greater Sabbats.
And I looked at charmingpixieflora, but she doesn't really have a vid up for Beltane.
It's not that I feel uncomfortable, just lost.
I bought a pendulum, and i'm trying to get some runes. I know its a good time for divination so I wanted to make some scrying mirrors and stuff so we can do that too.

It's a little...odd, since I do not specifically work with the fae, but I remember reading in some book when I was younger about how they like to celebrate and making a little "gazebo" (best word to describe it) is a great way to honor those energies during Beltane. I've been doing it ever since, just of this random feeling of importance. Even if you're just looking for something creative to do with the 2 yr old (and I highly suggest that if you do, keep a close eye and dont let em around the small, swallow-y things)
Basically, you find 4 "Y shaped twigs, stick em in the ground, and start building a roof on it similar to how one would with Lincoln Logs (I miss those...). then you decorate it with ribbons, flowers, bit of things as offerings (I usually put in a few buttons, gemstone chips, ect). It's kind of like making a little gathering place for them to party along with you, though you seem to have enough guests to worry about... sad

Thank you!!! biggrin D yeah, I do have a lot of guests to worry about. But I guess i'll get through it. I have a little less than a month to plan this...idk what i'm going to do honestly. UGH! I have never planned an event like this. And it is only my 2nd Beltane. It would be different if I have been practicing the Craft for more than a little over a year. I have barely made it past my year and a day :*(
