So, at the end of Changes. Who did it? Who the HELL shattered my favorite fantasy, and made me literally want to cry?

My bets are on Kincade. God I hope everything's okay.

******** IT, a year to figure out what happened! A year to wonder if that woman's voice is the return of Lash!

HE AND MURPHY WERE ABOUT TO ******** NO LESS!

Although, once again, Butcher shows that he really can put the screws to Dresden in more interesting ways every time!

Okay...
...okay...
......okay......

I guess I can maybe get used to the idea of Maggie Dresden, Wizard for Hire.

I dunno. I've grown really attached to Harry, seeing as how I've been reading him for nearly 8 years. I'm so sad now.

Embrace the future. And the future is Maggie Dresden, Wizardess for Hire.

I wonder if the next will be about his daughter too....

Okay where was Nick and Nickleheads in all of this? Aren't they the ones who usually are the subject of all three of the sword's ire? I mean not only were all three swords there but so was some of the biggest super natural bad asses in the world, some of the biggest mega powers. I think that shot might have come from one of them.

He wasn't freaking kidding when he called this book changes. After Harry lost all of his possesions and all the trouble with the cops I was starting to believe this was the last book. It wasn't until the thing with Martin that I knew Harry was going to come out of it alive.

Harry better not have died that way. Damn it, he deserves a hero's death doing something utterly insane not just being shot.

Butcher said he's envisioned about 20 books with an "apocalyptic trilogy" to end things. So we have a few more years yet!

I think the Swords had their bit against the Red Court there. The Sword of Faith speaking through Murphy, pronouncing judgment on those who'd twisted the faith of millions in order to subjugate and feed off of them? That was AWESOME.

I think Harry destroying the Red Court root and branch is more then enough bad guy for one book. Although, them taking the shot at Harry is up there on my list of who-done-it. So's Marcone.

I've also heard a rumor that when the volume that has the collected short stories is released later this year, there will be a new short story titled "Aftermath" that takes place shortly after the end of changes.

Also, I say in a month or so, we start a "Who Done It?" thread and start to develop wild theories on who shot Harry.

But why would marcone have shot him? Harry is still an asset right now.

Harry also came back from a suicide mission where he wiped out one of the most powerful groups of evil int he world. And he told Marcone that he was on the "to be wiped out" list. Marcone might be thinking ahead.

I wonder if this sudden loss of all the red is an asset to Marcone or not. Surely he suddenly lost a bunch of his enemy companys but at the same time there is going to be a lot of choas and infighting going on.

I wonder what impact this'll have on the White and Black vampire courts.

Did anyone else find it nice the way that Harry started the war over Susan and he then used her to end the war? Kind of poetic right?

it was crazy, and sad. There are more books coming, I bet Dresden is not dead... or not dead for long. Remember, in the book grave peril, Dresden had died before. By Dieing he is free of the obligations to Mab. He fell into the freezing waters, it would cause his viens and arteries to constrict.
As a EMT, we are told of a great many of people who can die, and be brought back. And a phrase passed around is, "they are not dead till their warm and dead". There are plenty of mundane ways for him to survive and that does not consider all the supernatural forces bouncing around. Their are still so many things to be done with Harry.

Just based on the name of the next book I think that Mab killed him because being a ghost will allow him to do something for her he couldn;t do as a mortal wizard. Or else his short time in the hereafter will let him see something she wanted him to see. So right now my bet is on Mab.

According to the Q&A with Butcher on Bitten by Books, it sounds like death might not be an out for Harry being the Winter Knight.

Anyone else disapointed in the fact that the migraines from the previous book (which we all suspected had something to do with Lash's sucide) weren't mentioned in this one at all?
