Chobits

Creators: CLAMP
Start Date: February 14th, 2001
End Date: November 29, 2002
Volumes: 8
Summary: Hideki Motosuwa is just your average held-back student, trying to keep his head above water. Low paying job, girlfriendless, and without a persocom. A persocom is a android used as a personal computer; they're something that Hideki wishes he had more than anything. One day on his way home from work, (at a place called "Club Pleasure") Hideki finds a beautiful girl persocom laying in the trash. He takes her home and turns her on, but realizes she can only say "chi." Because of this, he names her Chi and asks his friend to come over and see what's wrong with her.
Chi, however, is not a normal persocom. After destroying Shimbo's (Hideki's friend and classmate) laptop persocom, Hideki takes Chi to Minoru, the twelve-year-old prodigy who builds persocoms. After examining her, Minoru comes to the conclusion that Chi may be one of the Chobit series- a legendary persocom who is said to be able to express emotions . . . real emotions- much to Hideki's surprise and delight.
Though one thing is said by Minoru to Hideki, "No matter how cute she is, no matter how human she seems . . . Don't fall in love with her. She'll just make you cry."
There's no way Hideki could fall in love with Chi. She's only a persocom . . . right?

This series is great, but more aimed for an older audience unlike many of CLAMP's other works.
The art is amazing, especially the outfits and the storyline is extremely cute. Read it, love it, live it. xD
