As usual, one of Varete's favorite past-times was to take a nap on the rooftop of the Meadow View High School's building. Relatively isolated most of the time, she appreciated the privacy and silence it afforded her. This was her place to go when she was in need of a haven, away from school, which seemed to be a majority of the time.

Stirring from her sleep by the bright rays of the sunlight, Varete sat up, arms stretched out as she let loose a loud yawn.

"Ahh. That was a good sleep." She muttered, as she brought one hand to her face in a feminine attempt to cover her yawn. To no success, nor did she care. It wasn't as if anyone was around to see her anyways.

Rubbing her eye with one hand, Varete brought her face to the sky. The sky appeared to be a light blue, an indication that it was still early, morning perhaps? "Now, what period is it?" She said, still groggy from her nap to properly inspect the time on her watch.

Lunch, she hoped. She was starving.

"Third period just ended."

The voice was fairly quiet, and belonged to the dark-haired girl sitting not too far away, back resting against the protruding part of the roof. She seemed to have found the most perfectly comfortable place to sit, and a hardbacked novel was in her lap, the title hidden from view. But anyone who knew Selena even a little, would know beyond doubt that it was a classical romantic novel. A warm smile lit up the girls face as she gave a somewhat sheepish way, cheeks somewhat pink.

"I...sorry. I came up here to read, and you were asleep. I didn't want to wake you."

Somewhat startled by the sound of another voice behind her, Varete tossed a glance towards the girl beside her. She vaguely recognized the dark-haired girl from her class, though her name remained a blur to her. Had it been Sara? Sera? Sala? Salsa?

Salsa? While the other names sounded reasonable enough, the last one had clearly been her stomach talking.

Annoyed by the girl's apologetic manner, "Don't apologise." Varete ordered with a careless wave of her fingers in dismissal at the girl's apology. What fault of this was her's? None. Unless she happened to be an obnoxiously loud brat whose chattering had disturbed Varete's nap, that would have been a different story.

Which, fortunately, she was not.

With a flip of her hair, Varete directed a curious look towards the girl beside her. "So what's student like you doing out here, ditching of all things?"

Selena offered a warm smile when the blonde girl looked over to her, giving a somewhat shy wave. Her wave faltered a little, though, hand dropping at the...well, order? There wasn't another way to put it. Selena blinked, a little surprised by the tone, "I...sorry?" She was apologising for apologising, but the dark-haired girl wasn't really sure what else to say. Sensing that a conversation was about to begin, Selena replaced her bookmark in her book, closing it with a soft 'thud!' and placing it on the roof beside her, turning to fact Varete.

"I had History third period, and the teacher was ill so the lesson was cancelled," she explained in response to the girl's question, brightening up as she slowly became more confident that Varete wasn't angry at her. "You're in one of my classes, right? I can't...I can't remember names for toffee, but I'm Selena," she offered a little sheepishly, cheeks pink in embarrassment at her horrible memory.

"Selena, we're going to have to work on this apology thing." She sighed, her body leaning back against the wall, as she folded her arms across her chest. Not that she didn't appreciate the girl's friendly demeanor, she simply couldn't stand her apologetic behavior.

But putting the issue aside for a moment, she had other things to worry about.

"Class, canceled?" She repeated, one eyebrow raised up in a skeptical manner. Not that it was of any issue to her, but she found the idea difficult to believe. What teacher left her class without a substitute teacher, and allowed her class to run wild and amok? Now, that was just lousy planning. And a horrendous ide— Nevermind. She did that on a daily basis, who was she to talk?

A smile played on her lips, as she replied to the girl in a easy manner, "Varete. And, toffee actually sounds good right now." She admitted, with a wistful sign.

Though it was one of those phrases people often said, the mention of food had simply been too tempting. Flipping her cell-phone open, she had her eyes on the screen. Taking note of the time (and a struggle to recall her memory in the location of nearby restaurants) she had a choice between the school.. and the mall. The answer was obvious to any high school student.

The mall, of course. One hand on her hip, "If you're ditching, why don't I propose we take advantage of our time to head down to the mall, Selena?"

Selena was actually about to apologize again, but she caught herself, instead just...smiling in an apologetic manner. She couldn't help it! But this girl seemed nice, and Selena always liked to make friends.

...Yes, it was cancelled? What, did the girl think she was lying? Selena frowned a little, making her confusion obvious, giving a shallow nod at the same time, "Yeah. He was sick at the last moment, so didn't have time to arrange a substitute." She wasn't the type to lie, and so it confused the girl when others accused her of it. Of course, she'd had to slightly...rearrange her morals, what with now being a Senshi. But she did her absolute best never to outright lie, just to avoid the question. Though she could only avoid Scottie's questions for so much longer.

Varete was a pretty name. "I...have a couple of sherbet sweets, but no toffee," Selena offered, shrugging as she did so. She watched the girl tug her phone out, feeling a little awkward until she spoke again. ...Ditching? But she wasn't ditching! Selena frowned, clearly not all too approving of the idea. "But...I have class next."

Although...there were those shoes she'd been planning to buy. And a second opinion would be nice. "...What would we do there?"

Ah, so that was the reason why class was canceled. "I see." Varete said, nodding in a thoughtful manner. Which would make it seemed like she cared.. but not really. Despite the fact that she attended class every once in a while, her teacher's and classmate's face remained a blur. Though their relationship was hardly more then that of strangers, so of course it made sense, her lack of concern for the teacher's health.

Oh well, she was certain that he'd get better in no time, (probably)!

With one question answered, she was more then ready to move on to the next. "Oh, relax! There's always tomorrow." She coaxed, in that usual cheerful tone of her's. Ditching class wasn't the end of the world. What could be done today could simply be done tomorrow, no rush. Of course, when had she ever?

In reply to Selena's (baffling) question, "Shopping, of course." She said in a en enthusiastic tone, as she began to make her way over to the door. "You coming?"

There was always tomorrow? Well, yes, but the class she had next would have content that wouldn't be in class tomorrow. She'd have to catch up on the work, and that was always such a bother to do - Selena tried her best not to be ill for that very reason. But Varete made it sound so easy, so...not-the-end-of-the-world. Selena had ditched class before a couple of occasions, but those had been important - a ballet exam, or that one time Scottie had been hit by a car. Never for something as trivial as shopping.

...But the shoes were calling her.

"...Okay," she responded after a few moments of thought, following the blonde with a wide smile, "We need to go to the upper mall, though - there are the cutest shoes I've been eyeing up, and I want a second opinion."

If Varete had heard Selena's thoughts, she would have been the first to protest that shopping was so not a trivial matter.

Luckily for her that she remained completely oblivious to the girl's train of thought. In an attempt to occupy herself, she sat humming the tune to Tik Tok as she awaited the girl's decision. Though she already knew what to expect.. But the girl's answer didn't lessen her grin any less. "See. I knew you'd see it my way!" She answered, skipping down the stairs with an air of delight.

Making her way down to the exit of the building, she gave the girl a distracted nod while she flipped her cellphone out. Thumb pressed on the center button, she sifted through the phone's contact list for a ride number.

'Aha!" She cried out, as she lifted the phone to her ear. "Rikky~ We need a ride.." Her voice trailing off, as she began to converse with a college friend of her's.

Selena smiled to match Varete's grin - she much preferred it when people were happier, and so the blonde's grin instantly made Selena happier in herself. Following her down the stairs, Selena didn't skip down them with quite as much enthusiasm as Varete, but she did jog down the stairs two-at-a-time. You couldn't walk down stairs - that was just boring.

She watched with interest as Varete took her phone out, about to ask who she was calling before suddeny she was talking. Rikky? Oh right, they needed a ride - she'd assumed they'd just get a bus! How naive of her. Feeling a little awkward and out of place with Varete on the phone, Selena turned her attention to her nail, picking at the peeling blue nail varnish.

Ten minutes later..

A black convertible pulled up, as one dark-haired man with green streaks in his hair stepped out.

Embracing Eo's hand in her own, she pulled her over into the car. "It's amazing what phones can do these days, don't you think?" She teased, in an attempt to rid the girl of her discomfort. Leaning over, "Pssssst. He's not as mean as he looks." Varete whispered, nudging her friend to talk to him. She saw no reason why Selena should be shy, when it was only silly Rikhter after all.

He was as interesting as that dancing cactus over there; like the toy that was positioned in front of the car. "God, that boy has no taste." She was tempted to sigh, but she doubt the comment would have been appreciated.

Meanwhile, Rikhter stood there with a sour expression upon his face. He was not pleased, to say the least.

"s**t, Varete. You have the worst timing." He grumbled, as he unlocked the door of his car, to escort the girls before him. "I was in the middle of a good book, when you called." Shutting the door with a loud thud, he slid back into the front seat again. Starting up the engine, he began to drive.

"Since, when are you not?" Varete shot back, leaning forward with a frown.

"But never mind that. Meet Selena." She gestured to the girl beside her, with a grin. "Selena and I have shopping to do. A trip to the mall will do nicely enough."

With one eyebrow raised, the boy regarded her with a skeptical look. "In the middle of the day?" Then as if a thought had suddenly occurred to him, he turned to the dark-haired girl behind him. "Wait, er. Selena. She didn't.. harass you or anything, did she?" He said, with a touch of concern.

His question was met with an indignant huff and a shout of protest that was quickly silenced by the flying pair of sunglasses.

Selena jerked forwards with a surprised gasp, literally being dragged by the blonde towards the car. What was it parents always told their children - don't get into strangers' cars? Hmm. Some words were quickly whispered into her ear, and suddenly Selena found herself shoved forwards, Varete behind her and...well. A boy in front of her.

A rather handsome boy.

And not even just that - awe quickly dawned on the girl's face as he spoke. He'd been in the middle of a good book. He could read! And he even did it...for fun! This was a rarity indeed!

Trying to calm herself so her cheeks didn't flare up in a fierce red and give her thoughts away, Selena instead merely smiled, a little afraid to open her mouth incase something stupid came out. But then he asked her a question, and words were unavoidable. "Oh...no, not at all!" Selena managed to reply as calmly as she could manage (which actually ended up being quite calm, considering Selena's track record), "Biology isn't as interesting as shopping!"

She climbed into the car behind Varete, buckling up as she tried to strike up further conversation, "So...Rikhter, are you coming shopping too?"

"Hm." He replied, in a low voice as he kept his gaze on the road. He didn't have much to say on the topic of shopping. Nor did he have any opinions upon biology. Biology, in high school, had not been his favorite class.

Grimly, he reflected upon the dead frog they had been forced to experiment upon. Damn teacher definitely should have checked if the frog was dead first..

Turning at a corner, he thought of what he would do at the mall. it took him a few moments to answer, as he debated over the issue. ".. I have a few books I need to pick up." He answered in reply to the girl's question. It could have been easily interpreted as a yes, one supposed. They were going to the same destination, after all.

Turning a corner with ease, he swerved roughly into the mall's parking lot. "Hey. Be careful, won't you?" Varete protested, punching the boy lightly on his arm.

He ignored her, and continue to drive. Giving up, she fell back onto the chair with a sigh. ".. He's going to end up in an accident one day, I tell you." With his driving, she wouldn't be surprised! She'd be the first one there at his Hospital bed, with a smile and an "I told you so." No doubt, he'd have a scowl ready for her when she did.

When the car had been parked, "Okay, kids. Out." He ordered, ejecting his keys. Varete hopped out of one end leaving Selena to help herself out.

"Time for shopping!~" She hummed, happily strolling off into the mall, leaving the other two to follow her.
