http://www.boingboing.net/features/morerock.htmlI agreed with a lot of what was said. And I think that blending a cinematic with a game is a completely different skill, and it's often purely executed. There's a lot of s**t out there that's running around claiming to be a game that I don't entirely understand, and there's some other s**t out there, with menus and s**t that tickles my fancy on a different part of my brain. Nonetheless, I found this to be worth sharing with yous guys.

That was a pretty awesome read, I also agree with a lot of what he mentions on his article.
Although I believe that there are also games suffering from the opposite. GTA series comes to mind, excluding GTA IV, there was no good story in the games. Thus there was no engine driving me to continue.
Metal Gear Solid on the other hand is a great game that to me the story is so compelling and well-done, that it drives me to play the game more and it influences the way I play.

It's only a problem because the game itself isn't an engine. It's an example of a poorly fused experience, and in my head, not a very interesting game. I didn't like GTA all that much... I played it when I was bored, just for some of the sandbox s**t, but I really got bored of that rather quickly, I didn't even buy the games. I played 4, and I was pleased to know they introduced a storyline, but I felt a little like it was still the same s**t.

I don't know if No More Heroes uno and duce are considered in that area of "less talk more rock"
I felt those two games and The Metal Gear series had masterful storyline put into it and great game-play.
