Damien had to stand on his very tippy-toes to edge yet another five into the token machine, tail flicking back and striking the shins of a few wastoid tweenagers. The greasy boys scowled and turned to confront the toddler, but stopped when they saw who it was. Damien had already become a little infamous in the movie's arcade for clawing up another kid's arm when he tried to push him out of the way, so even though he was tiny in comparison to the other arcade-goers, he was left alone.
When the twenty tokens slipped out of the dispenser, the boy quickly snatched them up and went back to his games. Ever since Aludra had given him the lot of money and told him to spend it, the poor toddler had been doing so diligently, mostly on the arcade games that he had found inside the good-smelling lobby of the movie theater. He found that the money disappeared a lot quicker there.
Finally, after a few minutes of indecision, he stepped up to the air hockey table, slipping four tokens into the slot. He jumped as the air began blowing up, and after a few moments of staring, he tentatively grabbed one of the paddles and pushed it into the floating puck. His face lit up as the objects bounced around like magic, and he began amusing himself by knocking the puck into the little hole over and over. He greatly enjoyed the noise that congratulated him whenever he did so, and snarled at anyone who tried to interfere. He thought they would ruin it.

Melody walked put of one of the theaters being lead by Nicole. She was humming happily as they made there way to the exit when the little spawn heard the noises of the arcade nearby. "Wets go in there! Pwease! Pwease!" She said as she tugged her mother towards the arcade. "Melody I don't think we need to-" She started to say when she saw her little girl about to yell out and felt her pull harder. "I want to pway there!" She said in a serious tone and gave another hard tug. "Okay! Okay! We can go!" She said as she lead the now happy spawn into the acrade.
As they walked in Melody stared in awe of all the noises and games. Nicole walked to the nearest token machine and placed the money in and got the tokens in return. "Now don't spend all your tokens in one game. Spend then wisely." She said to her daughter as the child nodded and ran about looking for a game to play. A little victory noise caught her ears and turned to the air hockey table and the child playing it. Running over and almost tripping over her own feet she made it to the table and watched the boy shoot the puck in the goal again. "That look fun!" She said out loud as she watched the toddler play. "Can I pway with you?" hoping he will say yes to the fun game.

Damien had gotten so absorbed in his game that he didn't notice the little girl walk up or watch him. When she spoke up, he shot a surprised glare at her. His teeth were bared, more as a reflex than anything; he had grown to mistrust everyone in this place after that older boy tried to shove him. Not that anyone trusted him after that, either.
He cocked his head to the side a little sullenly as he processed her request, sliding the paddle back and forth between his hands. On the one hand, he didn't really want her to play. He'd been having quite the fun time by himself, which was usually how he had fun times. However, he really didn't deserve to either have this entire game to himself, nor deny anyone who asked.
"'Kay..." he said with the tiniest sulk, running his eyes over the girl. Damien's eyes widened slightly when he saw the same patterns on her face that were on his tail. What was that about...? "Dun'no how two a' us could pway, dough," he added, although his eyes automatically went to the other paddle that had been otherwise bouncing around pointlessly.

Melody stepped back a bit as he glared and shown his teeth. Her wings tightened behind her and she curled her tail around her legs. Clearly she did not expect that kind of reaction from the boy at all. Taking a gulp she stepped forward back to the air hockey table. Looking over the table and spotting the other paddle she gave a point to it. "Maybe I can pway using that?! It wooks wike yours." Giving a point with her clawed hand to his paddle. "Think that might work."
Taking her end of the air hockey table and reached out for the free paddle then took hold of it. "Yew still wet me pway right?" She hoped that he will say yes to her request. Looking closer as she waited for his answer she noticed the little wings on each side of his head and weirdly enough he had the same colored stripes on his face as she has on her tail and skin. "Pwetty wings. Not wike mine but I wike the color." She said giving a smile to him.

It was with a sullen expression that Damien looked at the paddle that the girl indicated, tail flipping back and forth lazily. He had to admit that her idea of how the game was played made more sense than his, but then again, he was an idiot, so that was to be expected. Shifting a little uncomfortably, he nodded in response to her question. She could play, but she better not touch him. Glancing at the puck hovering in front of him, he hesitantly knocked it towards the girl, still quietly enthralled with how it glided.
However, this girl didn't do a lot to endear herself to Damien when she complimented his appearance. A snarl showed off his pointed teeth, and his tail slammed into the side of the table, making the puck ricochet back and forth erratically. "'S not pwetty, 's gwoss," he sulked, looking over her wings with a measure of envy. "Youw's 'r' bettew; all white 'n' pwetty 'n' nice. 'M just stoopid-lookin'." He hunched his shoulders lightly, trying to keep the Pandora's box of arguments Melody had unknowingly opened up to himself. He missed his version of this game.

Melody waited to see how he will respond to her joining the game. She could tell that he really did not want her to join but when she saw the nod and smiled back. She watched the puck come her way and gave it a whack of her own from her paddle back towards him bouncing off the sides. It seemed like fun to her so far. Sure he seems to not like her around but things can get better right?
Oh how wrong she was when he slammed his tail against the table making the puck go crazy. Keeping her paddle close but not too close to her goal her tried her best to keep the little puck from heading into it. Giving a sharp glare to him cause she did not like the way he shook the table. "Well it true! Your wings pwettier! My wings not! They pwain! Your's no stupid at all! And no hitting table!" She said with a slight hint of anger to it as her voice got louder at the last sentence. She did not know what his deal was about his wings but there was nothing wrong with his and the color. She gripped her paddle tighter from her anger and kept watch on the puck.

Damien only sulked more at the girl's retort to his statement, clinging to his paddle fiercely. What was wrong with her? Wasn't it obvious that white wings were better than golden ones? Besides, her wings were in their proper place; his wings were on his head, which was stupid. Like this girl.
Perhaps in direct contrast to her order, his tail whipped back and forth more fiercely, although it didn't hit the table again. His eyes watched as the puck zigged and zagged back and forth quickly, and on impulse he struck out with his paddle. By sheer luck, his shot was true, and the puck flew into the hole. The boy jumped back in surprise when a loud noise sounded from the machine, and a red one appeared over his head. He hadn't realized points were involved. He sank, staring angrily at the ground as he poked himself harshly with his claw. Now he felt bad... "Sowwy..." he mumbled to the floor, more furious with himself than anything.

Melody kept her eyes on the puck but was too slow to block the speeding puck as it went into the goal. As the noises and light shown that he was the victor she clapped and said "You won! Hooray!" Looking over at with a confused look becaused he apologized to her she took out eight of her tokens and walked over to him handing to tokens to him. "It was your game. We play again? I pay you back and for your game as well...?" She asked hoping he will at least accept the tokens if he did not want to play with her anymore. The game was fun even if she lost as long as he did not hit the table again.

Damien gave Melody a look that could only be described as 'what the ********' when she congratulated him on his undeserved victory. How stupid was she; didn't she know that he was the scum of the earth, and by winning he'd screwed up everything? Still, he couldn't bring himself to snap at her, so he merely flicked his tail moodily, suddenly wishing he was back home.
When she offered to 'pay him back', he blinked at her in confusion, not quite understanding at first. Once the concept got through, he thought about it hard. It was wrong of him to accept anything, of course, but she was offering, so it'd be rude to refuse. Plus, this would be a chance for her to win and restore things to normal. Nodding once, he gestured for her to insert the tokens. "Mmkay. You c'n paybacks."

Melody gave a jump for joy when he accepted her offer. She placed four of the tokens in his and when to the machine and put in four tokens to start the game. Once the tokens where in she hurriedly made her way to her end of the table. She was excited for the game to start as she gripped her paddle and placed the puck on the table. "Get weady!" She said as she moved her paddle a bit and gave the puck a whack with it. Keeping her eyes on the puck so when it came her way she could defend her goal at all costs but he was pretty quick so she had to be extra careful.

Damien glowered lightly at the girl and her enthusiasm, but half-heartedly positioned his paddle in front of his goal. It didn't matter how 'ready' he got; he had already decided that he would lose on purpose. That would teach her to be stupid! He watched with a dull expression as the puck bounced back and forth, glancing at the girl to see how much attention she was paying. His tongue stuck out as he waited, then he suddenly shot his paddle forward. Like he had guessed, he missed, and the puck flew into his goal. He tried to keep the smirk off his face as he looked at the girl, shrugging a little comically. "Uh-ohes. Point fer yoo."
Reaching down, he fumbled with the puck for a few seconds, claws getting way too much in the way, before he successfully captured it and tossed it onto the table. Damien gave it a thoughtless strike with his paddle, watching it carefully as it whizzed back and forth. Gosh, losing took a lot of work sometimes....
