What was she thinking coming out here all by herself? Sauda dodged another tree branch, ducking low to avoid it's reach. 'Just have to keep going, eventually I'll reach the end of the forest.' Sauda encouraged herself to keep going. Surely, she must be getting close to the edge.
Sauda jumped at the sound of an owl’s hoot, her whole body tensing at once. Okay, maybe she should walk at a faster pace. Putting a bit more effort into her steps, Sauda continued on. Her legs were getting sore from her nonstop walking, and she planned to take a minute to rest soon. Hopefully she'd find a gap in the branches again. Sauda would only take the chance to rest in the light of the moon.
Earlier, she had followed a small rabbit into this large forest, in hopes of befriending the cuddly creature. Though after about a mile in, she gave up her search, having lost the bunny a ways back. She had turned around, but it only led her deeper into the woods. Now after hours of walking, she had no idea where she was. Sauda was lost, and alone. The sun was already setting, darkness blanketing over the woods.
The wind caused some brush to russle not far from her side. Okay, so maybe she wasn't alone. Taking a deep brush, she focused on her goal.

One thing that Sauda was good at, is keeping calm... and positive for that matter. A weaker filly would have broken down by now and would cry for help.
Crying for help would probably be the dumbest thing she could do right now. Her father, Sylar, had told her stories of his life guarding over a certain forest before he met her mother and the horrors that he had witnessed in it. Her father hadn't given her many details, as he didn't enjoy speaking of it with her, but knew that he had lived a dangerous life. He told her how lucky he was to find her mother, Neria, and escape with both of their lives.
She doubted that this was the same forest were Sylar once lived, but she knew that scary creatures still lurked within. An environment like this housed many a beast, good and evil. From her father's advice, she knew that she should keep walking, only stopping to rest in short intervals, and to try her hardest not to make a noise. It would only attract predators.

In the same dark forest, the sound of a low growl filled the air, puffs of moisture escaping from a large stallion’s mouth. His golden eyes were narrowed, waiting for the kalona that wriethed helplessly below his hoof to finally give up. Diabolus watched closely for the sign of hopelessness to fill it’s dull red eyes.
He didn’t have to wait long. The kalona screached out once more before falling limp to Diabolus’s heavy wrath.
“I must admit, you gave a good fight,” Diabolus started, his voice as smooth as satin, a dangerous sharpness hid beneith. “Too bad that it wasn’t good enough. You’ll be a worthy sacrifice,” Striking down suddenly on the kalona’s neck, Diabolus sunk his fangs deep within it’s skin. The creature gave one last attempt to get away, lashing out with it's tail at the larger stallion’s back legs, helplessly. Grunting at the blow, Diabolus ended it's life with a quick tug. Blood sprayed out, staining the ground as he closed his eyes in prayer.
His dark god would be pleased with this kill. Diabolus didn't lie, the creature had put up a decent fight. It had been strong and fast, but it didn't have Diabolus's experience. He was an expert predator, putting some skinwalkers to shame. Few could kill as grewsome as he.
Blood dripped from his mouth as he raised his head. A tattered wing that had been torn from his sacrifice's body before it's death, layed a few feet away. A growl rose in Diabolu's stomach, but he ignored it. This was his master's now, he couldn't touch the appendage.
He would have to find a different meal.

What was that noise? Sauda's eyes shot around the trees surrounding her. A loud cry had pierced the almost eerie silence before everything had fallen silent again. Her brain screamed at her to turn around and RUN, but she felt curiosity spark underneath that fear. What if something could use her help? The hearting beating rapidly in her chest was a warning to her. She still had a beating heart- what had made that noise probably wasn't as lucky. "Well, it couldn't hurt to at least peek, right?" Curiosity won out as Sauda continued on the path before her.

She didn't have to walk too far before coming upon the gruesome sight. The urge to scream and run away came first, but she somehow managed to suppress it. She could see all of the blood, on the trees, staining the rocks and dirt. And in the middle of everything laid a carcass- almost unrecognizable, if not for the spear shaped tail. And before it, stood a tall, bulky shape. Sauda quickly identified it as a 'he' due to it's huge stature. He was like nothing that she had ever seen before. His wings were beautiful, with their silky looking black feathers- though the spikes gave them a deadly feeling. She counted 4 horns upon his head, almost missing the two smaller ones that were almost hidden in his long black mane.
Sauda would have been tempted to call him a Kalona breed, but she knew that he was much more than just that. He was a mutant. And by the looks of it, not a friendly one.
Finally remembering to breath, she took in the air a little too quickly, sucking the oxygen into her lungs with a gasp.

The male's shining golden eyes darted over to meet with her own.

Diabolus felt the female's eyes upon him before he even looked up. A frown tugged at his lips, his eyes still closed from praying. How annoying, being interrupted while praying to his heathen god. She'll have to pay Diabolus decided, his lips turning up. How fun.
Opening his shining golden eyes, he slowly turned his head up to meet her own. His smirk widened when he noticed how she jumped when their eyes met.The small female looked to be an easy target. Her lithe frame was made for running, but there were many obstacles in this forest that would slow her down. She had wings, currently clutched close to her side, and a more curious pair upon her head. Shadows leaked from them, sparking curiosity in the demented male. He had seen many different creatures in his life time, but never one with wings that large on the sides of their head. How pointless What purpose would those wings hold? Swatting away flies, or keeping the sun out of one's eyes?
Either way, it wouldn't matter soon. He'll have ripped those precious wings off before she'd even be able to scream.
How should he go about this? Stepping over his slain prey, already forgotten, Diabolus moved forward, his eyes glowing. "Hello there," He spoke, his voice a dark whisper.
