The pink haired boy looked at his map, up at the place he was standing at, then down again, "Am I lost again?" He asked of Gigan, surely this couldn't be the wrong place because Anon had marked it on the map with his own two hands but... here was, standing at the gates of a graveyard shaking like a leave caught up in a tornado. This couldn't be the place, could it? It was so... scary. Made even more so because the sun was starting to go down and... he was pretty sure he just heard a wolf howling somewhere in the distance. While it was more likely it was just a dog his mind didn't work in such a manner, it always instantly went to whatever was the scariest and focused on that. So he was standing at the gates of a graveyard, it was getting dark, he was alone aside from his cat, there were wolves, and he didn't have any clue where Anon was...
He gave a whimpering sound as the howls got closer and he looked from side to side, found no place to hide as it was just sidewalk for as long as he could see, so he ducked quickly into the graveyard, ducking behind the closest head stone, eyes squeezed shut. There was the sound of foot steps as the dogs, and they were just dogs ran on passed in a group. Because he only heard their steps and didn't seem them he assumed it was a pack of wolves and as such remained ducked down until he didn't hear them or their howls anymore. By that time it had gotten that much darker and all of the headstones under the light of moon were looking that much scarier. He was sure that a monster was going to jump out at anymore moment to eat him!
What lived in graveyards? Zombies for sure, vampires as well, werewolves? Were those things that just went by werewolves instead of plain wolves? There might be witches as well, grave robbers, skeletons, ghosts... He was shaking all over as all these ideas came into mind. He pushed to his feet and started forward, looking from side to side as he tried to decide where to go next, if he would be able to find Anon here, or if he was even in the right place.
There was a loud screech as an owl flew over head, a sound echoed by Deimos's own shriek... and then the boy was collapsing into a heap as all of the fears he'd had building up in him about monsters attacking came to a head as the owl flew by making that terrible sound.
Gigan looked down at the unconscious boy before sighing and moved over to curl up onto of him protectively.
The sun was starting to set, and Anon's internal clock had him waking up. The room was dark, pitch dark, but that was to be expected; it used to be a crypt under the Funeral home! The home had tried to convert it into a regular basement. That plan failed since there were no windows, it was a safety hazard...then it was ignored half way through. They managed to get some electrical wiring done, and there was a bathroom set up before the work was shut down. Luckily it was never cut off from power or the water supply, and that worked out for him, since that was where he chose to stay. He flicked on a light switch that was near the little alcove where he made his bed then got dressed, making sure his face was completely hidden as always before exiting the crypt through the door, turning all the lights back off. He was greeted as always by the night shift workers that were starting to come in, and given some things to work on, and then shooed away until they decided they needed him for an errand.
The kid that vaguely smelled of formaldehyde heard the human shriek when he left the building to step into the grave yard, and with a hilt of his head he investigated the noise. Naturally though, he brought a shovel with him. Just in case it was another zombie, of course! Man he hated zombies...he was only strong enough to hit them hard enough to let him go, but he always had to go to the night crew to get their help in finishing it off. Damn zombies!A little investigation later and he found a human-esque heap on the ground with a...rather large cat curled up on him. The cat looked rather familiar, but when he saw the pink hair, he knew it had to be Deimos! Then the cat was the one that had chased him! How odd. Shoving the shovel blade first into the ground, he approached the heap with his hands up, showing himself to be unarmed, and knelt down to the unconscious boy, placing a gloved hand on his shoulder and shaking lightly.
Gigan looked up at the strangely scented child, gave a low sound in his throat like a growl before he took a step back allowing Anon to tend to Deimos but not before he told him if he did anything other then look after him that he would be forced to defend him with tooth and claw.
It took a moment for Deimos to come too, his blue eyes fluttering before they opened up to gaze at the one above him, "Hrm... Anon? Is that scary monster gone?" He asked of his friend, hoping the screeching creature had decided to leave instead of sticking around to make another attempt on his life... he was pretty sure that he'd lost many years off his life due to the heart attack he'd just experienced.
Anon bowed his head to the cat when he was growled at, showing in his own way that he understood. When Deimos came to, Anon smiled, his lips still being the only sure thing you could see on his face - stitches excluded. Again his head tilted, but he looked up and around the empty yard. Monster? But...there wasn't anything anywhere near them! The monsters that came from the grave yard probably wouldn't have left Deimos alive or in one piece, so it was safe to assume he had been imagining things. So he looked back down at the pink haired one and nodded, holding out a gloved hand in case Deimos wanted help standing. As skittish as the boy was it was impressive that he was here in the first place! He wanted to ask about the visit...but alas, until he had some paper and a pen he could not.
Deimos gave a happy smile when Anon let him know that the monster had in fact gone away, that was good... that think made such a terrible sound! He sat up, cheeks flushing a little, "I am... so glad I found you! I followed the map but... but I wasn't sure if I got the right place." He told him, looking around for a moment before he scooted a little closer to his friend. He didn't much care for this scary place, it was to much like a horror movie.
Oh...so Deimos didn't know it was a cemetery? Huh. When Deimos scooted closer, the odd smelling kid hugged him, petting lightly at his pink hair and trying to be comforting. After a moment he stood up, helping Deimos to his feet; naturally noticing he was much bigger than last time! Holding Deimos' hand with their fingers entwined, he led his friend away from the graveyard, through the funeral home and to the door that led to his crypt-basement. Of course he stopped at the door, making a motion for Deimos to stay where he was before opening it and disappearing into the pitch black, the stairs creaking as he made his way down. A few moments later the lights came on and Anon appeared at the base of the stairs, motioning for Deimos to come down and to close the door behind him.
The crypt itself was stone and elegantly decorated, some very large cubbyholes in the walls where coffins should have gone, yet they were all empty, save for one that was piled with pillows and blankets; apparently that was the one Anon slept in. There was another one that seemed to be a book shelf of sorts, stacked with books, magazines and piles upon piles of notebooks and notepads (both new, mostly new, and used), pens, pencils..everything he used to communicate. It was safer down here, right? No scary monsters here.Well, present company excluded.

Deimos looked around at the things they passed by, eyes a bit wide as he took it all in. It was... quite frightening, a crypt from the looks of it. He stepped closer to Anon, as though expecting monsters to jump out around any corner... but it seemed as though there weren't any of those shrieking, feathery creatures about down here. He relaxed when it seemed as though it were just the two of them which was nice, "Thanks for letting me come down here with you Anon."
When Deimos stepped closer, Anon reached back and took Deimos' hand, giving it a little squeeze, trying to be comforting. Anon's face, though mostly obscured by his hat and hood, seemed to brighten with a smile. He motioned to the alcove where his bed apparently was...it was the most comfortable place in the entire crypt, and he might as well offer it to his guest! Though, upon looking down at Gigan, he took a pillow off of the 'bed' and set it on the cold ground. Then, once everyone was settled, he reached over to grab a notebook and a pen, in case the slightly older boy wanted to talk.
Gigan looked at the offering of the pillow and flopped down on it, tail swishing behind him as he settled down for a nap, the long walk had left his paws aching. While Deimos was down here with this strange creature that he seemed to be friends with he was going to rest up for the return journey.
Deimos looked over at the kitty that was already sleeping, giving a smile, "Gigan must be tired." He murmured, kneeling down to give him a pet before he moved perched on the edge of Anon's bed, "So this is where you live? At first I thought maybe I got lost again... it wouldn't be the first time on this journey that I have." He said, giving a laugh though he sounded quite embarrassed at how he'd gotten himself lost once already, he was even more embarrassed at the state that Anon had found himself. Brave was something that Deimos was far from being...
Now that the feline seemed settled, the odd smelling boy took off a glove to reveal a grayish green hand, as stitched as his face was. He was definitely listening to the pink haired young man, but he reached down to pet the cat as well when Deimos did. The only animals he'd ever gotten to actually touch were dead ones...it was nice to pet something that was living for once. Once he had his fill of the cat, he hopped up on the 'bed' beside Deimos, scribbling on his notebook before moving to let his friend read it. "Yes. Live Here...Get lost often? Sorry to hear. Feeling better?"
Deimos leaned over to read what was being written down by Anon before he gave a nod of his head, "Yeah, I got directions to where a friend of mine named Kay lived, I ended up at a Burger Place instead of at the Knick-Knack Shop where I had been heading to try to find him." He explained, face flushing a bit, a touch of pink showing against his dark skin, "Was lucky though as he and another friend called Gera were both there to get lunch. Do you know either Kay or Gera?" He asked, curious as the three were his best friends.
Anon pulled his legs up against his chest, resting his stitched chin on his knees. His head was tilted like he was staring at Deimos, which he was, but as always his face was shadowed from the tip of his nose and upward. An almost amused smile fit on his lips at the blush, reaching out to pat Deimos' hand. It was okay to get lost! At least he found what he was looking for! He considered the question, then scribbled some more. "K.... Boy w/ skull face + snake? Met him 1x. Seemed nice." The tip of the pen was tapped against his lips, and he wrote some more. "Don't get visitors...ever. Sorry I am not entertaining..."
He watched Anon, smiling when the other boy patted his hand, seeming to relax a bit. He looked down at the paper as he wrote, "Yeah, that's Kay. He is pretty nice, I agree. He scared me a little at first because he talks a lot but I got used to him after a while... though his snake still scares me a bit." He have a shiver at the thought to his hair snake, that thing never came near him and never tried to bite him, but it was scary none the less.
He tilted his head at what was written next, "What? Ohh... yeah, we don't get many visitors at home either, Momma is as scared of things as I am, maybe more so." He explained, then smiled, "Don't worry, I can try to visit more often if you like." This place was scary but he would attempt it regardless.
Anon nodded a little bit when Deimos said the snake was scary....while he didn't believe that, he could understand how it was creepy. Especially to someone like Deimos. The snake had bitten him, but that was okay...he felt it, but he also figured the snake wouldn't be trying that again. If ever. Apparently he tasted bad! He smiled happily when Deimos agreed to visit more. "First visitor...on purpose." A stitched finger reached out to poke at Deimos' arm, as though to accentuate that he was talking about him. "Would like that a lot...sleep during day though. Is ok?"
He shifted in place at the mention that Anon slept during the day, so that meant that he would have to always come to visit at night? He gave a nod of his head, "So long as I can avoid that loud, screeching monster bird I should be alright to visit." He told Anon, trying his best to sound brave over the idea though there was a slight quiver in his voice. Deimos was not a courageous person by nature and even when he tried his hardest to be that or even sound like that he sort of failed at it.
Anon's mouth twisted thoughtfully, and after a moment of contemplation he hopped off of the bed, wandering to another end of the room and digging in one of the other corners of the room. After a little while, he wandered back, one hand behind his back, but the other reaching out as though he wanted Deimos' hand.If the other man complied, he'd turn the hand so it was palm up, and gently press a flashlight into the open palm. There was a smile on his lips again; the monsters wouldn't come near him with a flashlight! It was too bright!
Deimos gazed down at the flash light as though he were being given a most amazing sort of treasure, his lips turned up into a smile, "Thank you Anon, its very kind of you to let me use this." He said, hugging it to his chest. Light was always helpful when in the dark, especially given the dark was on the extensive list of things that the pink haired boy was afraid of.
Anon nodded, waving his hands modestly in front of him, then offered a gracious bow as if to say 'You're welcome'. The odd smelling boy wasn't used to having someone in his 'room', never mind having met someone for a second time! Everyone else had yet to come visit...but it wasn't like he could visit them. Easily, anyway. So this was fun, exciting...but also very awkward for him. There was a brief pause, and Anon took his notepad up again, scribbling something down. "You grew. Look good! When?" Then, after nibbling his bottom lip, added a second line. "Did you want to stay here tonight? It's late."
Deimos smiled happily as he let the flashlight rest safely on his lap. He turned to look toward the notepad when Anon set to writing something new down on it and he seemed a little more thoughtful, "Thank you, not sure exactly when I grew and... I haven't been able to really see the change yet. I will have to look when I get home." Even though he had a great dislike of mirrors given he had heard a few scary stories involving them... he pushed the thoughts aside, not wanting to worry about that at the moment, "Stay here with you? If its alright I would like to wait until the sun is up before I attempt to get home again. I am sure Gigan could use the rest as well."
"Have a mirror, if you want to see." Anon offered on his little pad of paper, unaware of the fear of mirrors that the other one had. For a moment, Anon seemed excited that he would have someone staying with him for once, to end that seemingly endless loneliness he had welling up within him. The younger boy nodded energetically but managing to keep his eyes shadowed. Then, of course, he went back to his notepad. "It's ok. Stay as long as you want...tired yet?"
Deimos for a moment considered it but given that it was night time he didn't want to risk it, "Ahh... thank you, but no. I am alright for the moment." He said quickly, if either of the things came to pass that could when one dealt with a mirror in the dark he didn't want to bring Anon into it as the boy had always been nothing but nice to him. He gave a little smile, "Tired? Yeah, a little bit." He murmured, it had been a lot day and now that he had a chance at rest he was tempted by it.
Anon nodded down towards the bed that Deimos sat on, then motioned around the room. After a moment he paused and went back to his notepad...it was frustrating, not being able to talk...but he did his best, considering! "Pitch dark once lights are off...going to be ok? Can stay here w/ you if you want." Having a night off for once would be very nice, actually! Even if it was just sitting in the darkness with his (possibly run-away) friend.
Deimos read it and his body set to trembling at the mere idea before he gave a little nod, "If... if its alright with you... I would like your company." He murmured, the idea of being in a grave yard, down in a crypt, all on his own... it was mind numbing to the point that it had him shaking.
Anon's head tilted slightly at the reaction he was given. So, on top of everything...he was afraid of the dark, too? Somehow, that didn't surprise him. The hooded one nodded, tugging lightly at one of the comforters that Deimos was sitting on. They were thick blankets and it was already pretty chilly in the crypt to begin with...and the night was still young; obviously, he was urging Deimos to get comfortable. While he did that, Anon was scribbling again on his paper. He didn't know what Deimos' comfort level was when it came to sleeping, but there was enough room in the little alcove to easily hold both of them...and the boy was a scardey cat. "Sleep w/ you...or can sit on floor." He offered via writing.
It didn't take much to get Deimos to do something that was comfortable, especially when he was as tired as he felt. He shifted himself, sliding under the blankets, a little yawn escaping from him. He looked down at the notepad that Anon was writing on, starring for a moment as though it were taking him a bit of time to decipher it with his sleepy brain. He gave a little nod of his head, "Mmm, you can sleep up here. It is your bed." He murmured, giving him a smile before scooting over, he had a habit of napping with Jiang a lot at home so the act of camping with another person was, to Deimos, comforting.
Anon nodded a bit, taking his notepad away to put it on the magazine shelf along with the pen. He made sure Deimos was comfortable before shutting off the lights, then headed towards the bed, mentally counting his steps like always. He made it easily enough, patting lightly until his fingers bumped Deimos' arm, giving it a pat to let the boy know it was him. Then he crawled under the covers beside Deimos, on his side. There was a bit of rustling as he took off his hat and hoody with his free hand, leaving the other touching his friend to assure him, then put his head down on the pillow. Anon wasn't worried about his face being seen; even during the day the crypt was this dark, nobody ever came down here and Deimos would have to crawl over him to even get to the light switch. Thus, he was safe! He wasn't going to sleep, probably, but he could at least give Deimos some means of comfort.
The pink haired boy curled up near to his friend, eyes sinking closed, and he felt himself starting to doze, "Mm... thank you... Anon." He murmured, keeping near to his friend, one hand staying where he could feel the other boy at. His desire for sleep battled with his fear of the dark, of closed in spaces, of strange places, and of monsters and strangely enough it won out allowing for the young boy to fall into a deep, dreamless slumber as he slept off the days events.
