Aegean had snuck out of his den despite his parents wishes and now stood at the edge o the forest watching the clouds as they swept by low and grey in the sky over head. A storm was rolling in and the wind was streaming through his fur and the tree's both. Aegean loved storms..he loved the fierce way they swept in and took over the skies, he loved the noise and the flashes of lighting and he loved the way everything smelled fresh and new after the fury had played itself out.

It was especially nice at night - grey clouds on the dark blue night sky reminded him somewhat of his own hide and the silver hint of moonlight peeking through could even be his eyes. Letting out a deep sigh of contentment, soothed in the face of natures fury Aegean tipped his head into the wind, eyes closed as he took in the scents being blown in.

Boreas had watched his brother leave the den and left his two blue siblings behind as he followed Aegean out into the woods. The wind was a beautiful feeling, and Boreas in usual pup fashion enjoyed it immensely. He wasn't big on storms, but wind was nice, especially the colder winds that blew in from the mountains. He imagined, in a fantastical way, that the mountains would be a wonderful place to visit. They hadn't seen snow yet, but his mother had mentioned it once when she had brought her home into a conversation she was having with their father.

He stepped up besides Aegean, but didn't sit yet, letting the wind try to peel his fur away without complaint. It wasn't cold enough-- he had inherited his mother's northern-thick fur-- for it to be a good wind, but only a really chilly dip in the river had ever been good enough for Boreas. So this would have to do.

"We're gonna be in trouble when Mom and Dad see we've left."

Aegean wasn't to terribly surprised when his brother followed him, when you had three siblings there was always a pretty good chance that one of them would follow along if another went somewhere. Just part of being in a decent sized family he supposed. Casting a look over his shoulder he eyed his brother for a moment, good it was Boreas, at least he liked the wind too. He had been slightly worried that it would turn out to be someone else, someone who would complain about the storm and ruin it for him.

Boreas wouldn't..no he would just comment on the obvious it seemed and Aegean smirked slightly as his eyes slipped towards the den. "We haven't gone far...if they do fuss at us it shouldn't be to bad. You can always go back...if your scared.." he suggested in a slightly challenging tone.

Boreas didn't catch the smirk in the dark, but he nodded anyway. He liked being on his feet. He didn't really sit for very long at any given point, unless he was sleeping. And if he could do that standing up and moving he probably would.

"Why would I be scared?" Boreas shot back, actually looking at Aegean now. "Mom will just scold, and the storm isn't here yet. We have time to get back. Besides, a little cold water never hurt us."

He moved away from Aegean, pushing his body against the stiff wind and grinning, pup-wide.

He hadn't meant to run into his brothers, really. The three had a conflict of interest when it came to things at times, such as the current conversation Neptune accidentally overheard while on his way to the water once more, that the dark male found it easier simply to avoid them most of the time - well, unless they were forced together by the pupsitter Madhuri, whose utter enthusiasm for the younglings was enough to push Neptune away emotionally. So much vibrant energy, such shine to objects he couldn't adore in the same fashion, it was just tiring . . .

Gods, especially Meru. Stars knew he wanted t okeep as far away from her as possible. It was as if she had decidedly grown clingy tohim ever since he thoguht to allow the stray into their midst, and frankly now Neptune was reconsidering his faulty thought processes in doing so.

Still, he was too close now (curse his wandering mind!) to get away without being at least scented, the wind blowing his to their noses no doubt so, with a sigh, Neptune padded out of the bushes and to Aegean and Boreas. He was not a pup of many words unless it was at night, where he found it safest to speak beneath the moon's gentle glow, or perhaps submerged in the water where he felt most called rather than the forests or meadows . . . So Neptune merely nodded to them as his greeting, wondering what he woudl get himself into by associating with them now; already Aegean was attempting to rile a challenge out of Boreas, who spokeof a dip in the cold water . . . "Maybe. Storms come fast now," he muttered.

Ah well, Aegean thought to himself as Boreas ignored his challenge, not that he'd been in the mood to argue but it would have made for some decent ammunition for later. It was true though - it was hard to be afraid when the worst you got was a tongue lashing. "I think I'll stay out in the storm" He told his brother, head turning in the direction of Neptune as he approached and the wind brought forth his scent. "Might be fun, see the forest when its all wild and lashed with the wind and the rain" It was an interesting thought and he looked between his two brothers "What do you two say hmm? Lets stay out tonight in the storm" He persuaded them with a glint of mischief in his eyes "You'll like it Boreas remember how the temperature dips before a storm? And Neptune you spend most nights sitting outside anyways" He continued.

Boreas half expected Pallas to follow Neptune out of the bushes. That would have made a full party of it. He smiled at his brother, but looked away almost immediately as a branch groaned warningly above them somewhere. The trees had vanished into darkness as the storm approached, and deep in his heart Boreas felt an uneasiness start that made him fidget. He backed up a step, as if that would somehow put the storm at a greater distance from him.

"I might stay until the rain starts," Boreas conceded, "But I dunno about being out during it. What if one of the tree branches falls on us? Wind can do damage too."

He eyed Neptune uneasily. He didn't want to be a sissy if both of his brothers stayed, but better to have them make fun of him than get into some serious trouble.

Neptune bristled slightly. Aegean knew about his night sittings? Curses . . . Well, he didn't appear to know why he did that, so his secret was still safe, and there was nothing suspicious about a pup watching the moon, right? Calm down, he told himself, and breathed. "For a little," he conceeded to Aegean with a small nod. "Just a little. The thunder hurts my ears." He didn't want to think of Boreas's words, or anything similar to a branch falling on them. Ouch . . . But like his brother, he didn't want to appear chicken in front of the others. Aegean had a nasty habit of keeping blackmail ammo, which was probably also what fueled Neptune's own habit of keeping a smooth face as he did now; if they couldn't read his expression, they couldn't read his thoughts!

"With Pallas?" he asked, semi-expecting her to sneak up on them any minute, though he couldn't scent her. "Or just us?"

Aegean eyed his two brothers as both decreed they would stay for only a little while. He had to roll his eyes at Boreas though - really what were the chances of that happening? Pretty slim he thought. He probably was afraid - look at him step back like that! He puffed out his chest a little an stood his ground with a smug look - He wasn't afraid. "We could always go and sit beside a boulder or something" He told Boreas with a slight shrug, as though he wasn't worried at all but merely trying to make Boreas feel more comfortable if he was really afraid.

"I don't even know where Pallas is..." Aegean confessed after a few moments of thought "But if she shows up sure" Maybe she would stay out in the storm with him and then he could tease his brothers about being beaten by a girl, that might be amusing.

"I think she's with Mom," Boreas replied, his eyes back above, watching the trees and trying to see the storm clouds he knew were beyond them. In the dark, it made it hard to tell. "Probably already asleep."

There was a distant, faint flash, and minutes later a soft rumble of thunder rolled over their heads. The wind kicked up for a moment, cold and pulling at Boreas's fur. He smiled again; wind was dangerous, but he did love the cold. Once they were all wet it would be freezing, but Boreas had his mother's thick coat; he didn't mind.

Then the sky opened and in a few moments poured down enough water to drench the trio of pups, all of them standing their ground out of the desire to prove they were just as strong as their brothers.
