A huge dark spot in new virterra. Generally a beautiful city, the industrial district in the east is full of warehouses and factories, thanks to a young inventor named Lucy Young the factories have yet to make an impact on the environment.

Break up with her, would he? Too high maintenance, was she? Her eyes flashed in time with the lightning over head as dark clouds billowed too close to the tops of skyscrapers above her. Lightning broke through one extra angry looking cloud, stretching down until it connected with a hydrant. The lid burst off and water spewed everywhere. Thunder rolled and she could feel it in her chest.
People were running away, papers and hats flying around, carried by the wind that blew so relentlessly.
"You're not perfect you know!" She called out as lightning touched down again, striking the flag pol that stood just outside the front doors of a bank across the street.
"Raene! I'm not breaking up with you!" A voice called back, sounding both slightly alarmed as well as frustrated and thoroughly annoyed. "I was just-" A bolt struck too close, nearly hit his leg. "-Hey! Watch it! You nearly fried me!"
"GOOD!"

His back was pressed tightly up against the passenger door of a car, ready to leap in at a moment's notice. The vehicle had been abandoned upon the driver crossing paths with the blue-haired mental person that seemed to be the cause of this equally crazy weather.
"Raene, sweety!" He called, his voice pleading, placating. "Can't wait talk about this? I wasn't breaking up with you! I swear!" Thunder cracked loudly overhead, so loudly he had to cover his ears.
"Don't lie to me, Darkstorm!" Her voice called back. "Don't mess with my head!" He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. She was lucky he loved her.
"I'm not! Chill out and let me explain!" Everything seemed to stop instantly, the clouds stopped moving, the thunder went silent and the wind stopped blowing and Darkstorm knew he'd chosen his words very, very poorly.
"Chill...out?" She asked, her voice tense. He frowned and cautiously slipped inside the car just as rain began to pour. He closed the door and within seconds the drops turned to hail and the clouds turned from black to white as snow began to come in a blizzard. With a sigh, he locked the doors and turned on the car, letting it sit idly as he turned on the heating system. They were going to be here a while.

Orion's bike skidded to a hold just at the edge of the industrial district. He was staring at... well... he wasn't one hundred percent sure what he was looking at.he put a hand to the side of his helmet in a completely pointless gesture. "Daniel... what am I looking at?" he asked, turning to Pulse at his side.
"Its a non-repeating weather anomaly." Daniel's voice sounded in Orions ear piece.
"What the hell does that mean?" Orion asked, jumping off of his bike and opening the seat.
"It means I don't know. Looks like a bubble of a blizzard. You want to go in I'd take a coat." he said. Orion pulled a large cloak out of the seat and swung it around himself. it was light blue with white stars.
"I need a new cape, this one makes me look gay."He sighed, shutting the seat and getting back on.
"You are not gay?" Pulse said confused.
"What? No!" he said, defensively.
"I'm sorry, what is wrong?"
"I- oh. No, wrong gay. I'm fine, let's just... lets go." he sighed, revving the bike and moving towards the mile high bubble of white.
Orion pressed a button on the front of his bike and a snow plow popped out.
They flew into the snow and Orion felt the clod hit him like a punch in the gut.
"WHERE DO YOU THINK?" Orion shouted over the raging sound of wind and snow.
"Centre." Pulse called back.
Orion nodded and sped up even more. He watched the snow fly up from his bike and ignored the people, falling to the ground. He wanted to help, but the best way to do so would be to stop this weather machine.
There it was. In the sky, a girl. Really? Storm from those x-men books he used to read? What the hell?
Orion couldn't do anything down here. He looked around and flicked the heat vision on with his helmet, finding a man sitting in a nearby car, looking up at the girl. there was something about him though, something that suggested he wasn't scared... simply concerned.
"We could really use Heat-wave on this." Orion sighed.
"I hear you." Daniel said through the com.
Daniel shook his head and pulled his grappler up. he fired it up at a factory chimney, the one closest to the girl. Pulse would do her thing.

"Raene..." Darkstorm sighed. He rolled down the window and stuck out his head. "Can't we talk about this?" He called above the storm.
Raene's eyes glared down at him, glowing blue as she hovered at roof level with one of the nearby businesses. "I think we've talked enough!" She shouted. "You think I'm some sort of crazy person!"
Darkstorm rolled his window up again and leaned his chair back, crossing his arms behind his head as he settled in for a long nap. There was no speaking to her in this state. She'd have to get it out of her system and he wasn't about to make it worse by trying to stop her.

Orions boots connected with the chimney and he pushed off, using some Firefly tech to shoot up towards the weather witch. "Can't imagine what would make him think that." he shouted as he flew straight at her back.
Pulse moved up the other way, to her front, trying to trap her. This was what they did, of course pulse never thought that Orion's leaps of faith were intelligent, but it didn't stop him from doing them.

Darkstorm happened to open his eyes just as Orion shot his grappling hook at the chimney. Heaving a sigh, he got out of the car and leaned atop the hood. "You probably don't want to do that!" He called to the interlopers.
Raene's attention was drawn when Orion spoke and she quickly fell into defense mode. She caught sight of the purple girl in her peripheral vision and the man coming behind her and scowled deeply.
She waited till the last second and dropped below where the two heros were aimed, pointing a finger at the girl as she called down a lightning bolt and aimed it for the purple pixie's head.
"This is none of your business!" She said, turning her attention to the man. "Back off!" She landed and cracked her knuckles, preparing herself for a fight.
"We're not done yet, Darkstorm." She called over her shoulder.
He rolled his eyes and rested an elbow on the roof of the car, holding his chin in his hand. "Figured as much." He called back.

Pulse erected a spherical purple barrier around herself and the lightning struck it. She grimaced as she bolstered her defences. The lightning ran over her bubble and dissipated. She held strong afterward as Orion spun in the air and landed with his feet against her bubble.
He pushed off with all his might straight down at where the weather witch was standing, shouting at some guy, Darkstorm did she say? Didn't he know that name?
Pulse flew down after him, readying her inner reserves to fire down at the girl.
"Daniel. You recognise the name Darkstorm?" he commed back to home base. "If so does your database have anything on a girlfriend with weather powers?"
A moment passed, a very quick moment considering Orion was plummeting to the earth with Pulse ready to fire from above in whatever direction the witch moved.
"Darkstorm, AKA Darren Sanders, long term girlfriend is Raene, henchman of Doctor Darkness..." Daniel responded.
"Patch the information to Firefly, see if she wants in..."
Orion hit what he was going to hit and rolled through.

Raene rolled her eyes and watched as Orion fell at her, diving from the purple beast he had brought with him. She waited until he was too close to change coarse too much and flew up and back a few feet, trying to dodge his attempt at grabbing her. Setting down on her feet again, Raene's eyes flashed and she sneered at the two heroes. Thunder rumbled overhead and the snow mixed with rain as clouds darkened along with her mood. She paced, glaring at the interlopers and she cracked her knuckles before shaking the tension from her arms.
"You should have just stayed out of this." She said. "It's just a stupid lovers quarrel-BECAUSE WE'RE NOT BREAKING UP!" She shouted around them in Darkstorm's direction.
Over at the car, Darkstorm groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose between two fingers. "...That's what I've been saying this whole time..." he muttered. "Yes, dear!" He called back.
"The two of you just need to go back where you came from and let us handle this."
Darkstorm called over, this time to Orion and the purple girl. "You better listen to her, Orion, this'll just make it worse. Trust me."
Raene zapped the car Darkstorm was using with a bolt of lightning and he dived inside just in time to miss the shock.

Pulses blasts shot past the weather witch, narrowly missing her as Pulse forced them to veer off, for fear of hitting Orinon instead.
Her pulse blasts exploded in mid air, sending light flying in every direction.
Orion skidded across the snow on his feet and pulled his cape over himself. The light hit the cape and lit it on fire. Orion watched the light melt snow and ice all around them and wondered what it would do to their adversary.
He pulled off his cape and through it op at the girl, spinning in the same motion and pulling throwing blades from his belt up at her.
He heard Raene's angry call to him and almost laughed. "This is some real Scott Pilgrim S***." he responded, pulling his grappling hook out and firing it at the car with her ex in. The wire shot across and clung to the car, pulling Orion over to it.
He landed on his knees, holding a star disk filled with C4 and stuck it to the car.
"Hey!" he shouted up at the witch. "Calm down dear this is only an a** kicking. If you don't turn off the blizzard and let the poor people of this district get past I will blow your boy here to smithereens." he looked out at the cars that had backed up either end of the road their fight was on. "I mean come on lady, these people have partners to get home to. Just because yours dumped you for being a psycho doesn't mean you have to ruin it for everyone else."
He moved his hand to his sword, just incase, and raised his spare, gloved hand, pressing his thumb to the detonate button on the side of his index finger.
"Look, I'll do you a favour, if your really this broken up about not being in a relationship, I'll go out with you, I've dated crazy chicks before, one of them was even a Fii, you know, those alien psychomorphs that came down to earth, impersonated humans and had the power to bring inanimate objects to life under her control, She was pretty intense. I know what your thinking could the offer from this extremely handsome, intelligent super hero be genuine or am I just dreaming? but dont worry, I know you look like you'll be a hand full, but your fairly cute... now drop the blizzard baby and come on over to my side, Dr. Darkness is a fool to have turned you insane like this... do it now or I'll kill your boyfriend." he said the whole thing with an edge of a joke, but the last few words were deadly serious.

Rather than react to everything Orion had said, Raene simply smirked. Darkstorm saw and shuddered, sinking lower into his car seat. The weather stopped, the snow settling and wind calming as the girl slowly lowered herself to the ground. People huddling in buildings and in any shelter they could find took their opportunity and ran for it.
Raene glared at Orion, the smirk still on her lips. Darkstorm peered out through the window of his car and recognized the look on her face. Swearing under his breath, he scrambled to roll the window down, afraid if he got out of the car he'd set off the C4 Orion had placed there.
"All right, Raene, baby, he didn't mean anything by it..." he said placatingly, eyeing the blue haired weather witch. "Let's just go grab a cup of coffee, I'll buy you some new earrings...this'll all blow over."
Raene's eyes shot over to Darkstorm, lightning sparking around her lashes, didn't say anything and turned back to Orion. "The fact that you really believe I'd ever find that offer appealing is endearing in and of itself." She said, "...But, you're really beginning to get on my nerves..."

"So I guess I am to assume that you're not going to calm down and stop scaring everyone?" Orion asked, tightening his grip on the button on the side of his finger.
His eye flicked upward and he watched as Pulse raised her hands to fire bolts of energy if the need arose. "I will press this button if you don't calm the hell down, and I don't mean five minutes from now I mean five minutes ago."
Orion knew that he could never kill an innocent, btu he couldn't let anyone else get away with something like this either. he had never ben forced into the choice before... and hoped that he never would.
Orion sighed, He had no choice, she had pushed him to his limit.
Orion pressed the button.
A massive cloud of smoke errupted from the crossing, followed closely by a loud bang.
Orion's mask allowed him to see through the smoke, btu he doubted that the girls eyes could boast the same. He looked around. the street and car were undamaged, the guy was still leaning out the car, probably temporarily deafened by the fake C4's flash bang properties.
He looked up, Pulse was readying her attack. If only he could get close to the girl, he could plant a tracker or an immobiliser on her, she shouldnt be expecting an attack so quickly... perhaps... maybe... if he was lucky...
Orion crept silently as he had been taught for so many years by his mentor towards the psycho, pulling a dollar sized disk from his utility belt.
Please... Please... Please...

Raene's eyes bulged and she lurched forward toward the car as Orion pressed the button that immediately set off an explosion that enveloped Darkstorm's car in smoke and light. "No!" She screeched.
Her eyes glazed over to solid grey and her hands shot out in front of her as she conjured a storm that funneled a gust of wind down to disperse the smoke around the car. Civilians continued to run, screaming all around the area, trying to escape, but Raene never noticed them. She had one thing and one thing only in mind- she needed to get to Darkstorm.

Darkstorm's eyes widened as the hero pressed the button and he tried to get the door open before the blast went off. Suddenly his ears rang and a whistle tore steadily through his hearing as his vision went black.
Writhing in pain, Darkstorm grabbed his head and eyes. That wasn't C4... he though just before passing out.

Orion Crept up behind Raene. He could feel the wind tunnel beginning to form, he only had a few moments, even as he thought it his visor was beginning to point out cleared sections, sections without any debris.
The girl was too preoccupied with saving her lover. Dante stepped up behind her and raised his hand, and the immobiliser to the middle of her back. He took a breath and pushed it forward, the second it touched it clung there and sent several painlessly paralysing toxins into her blood.
A moment passed and the wind tunnel vanished, then the girl dropped. Orion caught her with one arm and the dollar sized immobiliser fell to the floor. She slumped back against his arm and her hair fell away from her face. He raised an eyebrow. While sleeping and peaceful she was actually quite cute... It was just a shame what Doc Darkness had done to her.
Orion looked up into the sky. "Pulse." he said, getting her attention via the coms. "Can you pick her up and carry her back to base. Put her in cell 138, the one we can suck the atmosphere out of if we have to."
"Of course. What about the boy?" She asked.
Orion sighed and looked over at him. It was a problem... Perhaps it would be best to take him, help her remain calm... fat lot of good he was here though...
Pulse landed and took the woman from his hands. "I'll strap him to the bike and meet you back at base."
"Ok."
"Daniel." Orion added, bringing the fire brand leader to the conversation.
"I thought you'd forgot about me." he jibed.
"Well the billionnaire aristocrat is fairly forgettable." Orion responded. "We need a guest room, make sure theres no access or clue of the location, btu get one prepped."
"Alright. Firefly will meet us here in about forty five minutes."
"Got it."
