I wrote both of these within an hour. I went to the park and cranked them out. So they're kinda rough...I haven't touched them since I wrote them.
Both are Christian-themed songs. The first's chorus is actually taken directly from Psalm 30. Which is why it's tentatively titled...Psalm 30. lol
Psalm 30
My heart is breaking For the things that break your heart I've seen my sin I know I can't win Now I'm calling on You, Jesus To save me
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing You have loosed my sackcloth And clothed me with gladness That my glory may sing Your praise And not be silent O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
I feel you reaching To draw me out of the mud You cleanse my sin Carry me in So I can stand with You In glory
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing You have loosed my sackcloth And clothed me with gladness That my glory may sing Your praise And not be silent O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing You have loosed my sackcloth And clothed me with gladness That my glory may sing Your praise And not be silent O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
Song #2...again the title is tentative. This one is written from God's point of view. Based on several verses, but the main idea came from a verse that says God sings songs over His children. I wanted to capture that idea, so this is supposed to be God singing over one of His children.
My Princess
I know the lies you tell When you look in the mirror I hold each tear you cry And I'm drawing you nearer I'll cast out the lies Of this world to let you hear My song of love I'm singing over you
My beautiful, precious little girl I love you My wonderful, perfect little girl I love you I knew you before you were born And loved you You are a daughter of the King My princess One day you will see how much I love you
I know the lies they tell When they say you're not perfect I see when you start to believe You're not worth it But I called you as My own And gave you a purpose Hear the song of love I'm singing over you
My beautiful, precious little girl I love you My wonderful, perfect little girl I love you I knew you before you were born And loved you You are a daughter of the King My princess One day you will see how much I love you
You're beautiful You're wonderful I know you and I love you I chose you to be my
beautiful, precious little girl I love you My wonderful, perfect little girl I love you I knew you before you were born And loved you You are a daughter of the King My princess One day you will see how much I love you
For all eternity, My princess I love you

I like it. Them.
It does, though, sound a bit off with the verse parts, as they are done in almost an entirely different voice. I dunno. =3=

That would probably be because the chorus is a direct passage of the Bible so I didn't write it...and the verses obviously I wrote.
I'll see if I can tweak the verses a bit to make it flow a little better. Thanks for the comment! smile
