Spring weather was gorgeous, Shylock thought as he wandered along a pathway at the park. The preteen was able to go out in just his blue jeans and a vest, rather than having to be fully dressed. His green hair was short and spiked funny with the wind blowing it, and he seemed pretty calm.
He'd been walking for a while, so he eventually decided to take a seat on a nice shady bench to cool off and relax. On this bench already was a rather nerdy looking boy about the same age as Shy's younger brother Nero.
"Hey there." the preteen greeted with a smile, taking a cold water out of his bag to sip.

Pippin looked up as a new person sat beside him on the bench. He looked over his large glasses to see the green-haired boy, "Oh, hi." he said softly. The boy never was good at talking to people he just met.
Looking down at his shoes he spoke again, not wanting to be thought of as rude, "H-how are you?" he asked shyly. He didn't talk to many people, Europa and Vali being the closest, so talking to strangers wasn't exactly a habit of his.
However always lingering in the back of his mind was how social his mother was, and how she wished he could be that way too, so he would at least try to make her happy.

Shy glanced over, "Huh? Oh, um fine. How're you?" he asked politely, taking a sip of his water. The kid seemed nervous which was probably to be expected - the preteen was some new kid who showed up and started talking to him, so that had to be awkward.
"I'm Shylock, by the way." he added, just for good measure.

Pippin listened intently, tilting his head and looking up once more. He couldn't just look down at his feet, that was probably rude too. "I'm okay. My name is Pippin, nice to meet you." he replied, though he didn't hold out his hand to shake like most people he had met did. That idea still made him just a little bit nervous.
"It's nice out. Better than the cold." he added, starting polite conversation.

Luckily for Pip, Shy didn't seem at all inclined to shake either, but instead just relaxed against the bench and continued chatting with the boy idly. "Yeah, way better than winter. It was nasty this year." he commented, taking a sip of his water.

At least they agreed, Pippin always found it mildly awkward when two people had differing opinions and tried to talk, "Yeah, snow should never be on the ground past January." he said with a nervous laugh.
He twiddled his fingers, wishing he was more cool and social like some of the people he had met in the past.

"I don't mind if it snows but the freezing rain and cold days were murder." the preteen commented, flicking his tail.
"So where do you come from?" the other asked after a bit, hoping to spark up something more familiar to the other boy.

"Yeah, I just don't like cold much." the boy laughed again, a small smile now. His headwings spread out just a bit, making sure he didn't whack the other.
"I came from a lab." he said with a nod, "Then my mother adopted me. Did you come from there too?" he asked curiously, seeing the odd traits the other had. He had met many others from the lab before, meeting another wouldn't exactly come as a surprise to him. His best friends were from the lab even.

"Yeah, my best buds and I all come from a place called Seven of Seven. They mix demons and angels or some crap like that." Shy mumbled taking another sip of his water, "Do you?"

"Yeah, Seven of Seven." that was the name, it had slipped his mind. He didn't think of it much, his house with Celi was home now, not that place.
"What're you?" he asked, referring to the others combination of course. He couldn't help but be curious, he hadn't talked to many other spawn about things like that before. It was sort of interesting, he wondered how they did it all.

"Oh, I'm Envy and Humility." the boy said, this time a bit more shy. He felt a bit strange, mostly admitting his envy half. It was weird, talking about the part of him that sinned. "At least neither of our combinations are that bad... Well, not that there are bad ones. Oh, nevermind." he had only made a fool of himself again.

"Eh, everything's bad in excess." Shy assured him with a waved hand. "But nah, we didn't get severely overpowering ones. I've heard rumors that the lust sin's pretty powerful and the wrath ones are just deadly. One of my friends is wrath though and she's awesome - Europa. Nice girl, really good person too. Even if she could beat people up easily."

Pippin's eyes widened and a smile immediately spread, brightening his expression. "Europa's my friend too! We get along real well, she read to me at the library and stuff. Our parents are friends too!" it was obvious Shy had hit a good spot. Pippin adored Europa, and took every chance he could to praise her. He was proud to be her friend.
"How d'you know her? She's really nice isn't she!"

"Oh, you know her too? Cools." Shy said, this time smiling a bit more brightly. He'd have to mention Pippin next time he talked to her, that'd be neat.
"Yeah I met her at the pool when we were little and then we hung out around Christmas doin' a charity thing."
