Who: Doucette and Jez When: Early Evening Where: Bizinni; Pasta Restaurant Weather: Clear and a little crisp
Although the sun hadn't quite set, Doucette was already looking towards the heavens. She knew it was going to be a good night to relax and count the stars, and that always put her in good spirits. Not that there was anything special or symbolic about it, but the Irish woman found it calming in a manner that other women might equate to chocolate or bubble baths. Certainly Doe enjoyed the previously mentioned delights, but none of them carried the same feeling of relaxation that put her to sleep on clear nights.
In the interest of maximizing her star gazing time, Doucette had decided upon a marginally early dinner. To be sure, it wasn't so early as to be associated with people used to not eating with their own teeth, but the crowds wouldn't usually be so hectic at this hour. She hoped.
Hoping never worked very well for Doucette, for by the time she'd muscled her way into the little spot she'd chosen for dinner she found a long waiting list and a grumpy looking hostess. Promising for sure. This place had come highly recommended to her though, so she'd cleared her schedule and set out on a mission, and goddammit she was going to hold steady and enjoy herself. 45 to 60 minutes was a damper on her later plans, and even the irritable hostess noticed the whimsical way Doe looked out at the sunset before putting down her name. How long could it take for a single person to get seated anyway?
In order to better enjoy her time, Doe moved to the edge of the waiting area and watched the people near her eat. For a food critic, watching people eat is always enjoyable; their reactions come completely naturally to them. For Doucette instead, she was forced to hamper her reactions during the job so as not to give away anything during the meal. Now it was so habit she rarely found herself enjoying those meals "off the record" and that's why she'd promised herself a good, solid night off at a restaurant that was promising to please.

It was that time of the day. There was no way to describe it other than to say, it was simply not bright or dark enough. For Jezabroux, it seemed dusk was the most inconvenient time for him. With his photophobic eyes, there was still too much light to go out without sunglasses and yet, to wear them would seem foolish as well. In the end, the fear of a crippling headache got the best of him and he was soon out walking the streets of Durem. Dressed in pair of black slacks, a light grey sweater and jacket in hand, not to mention the large shades, Jezabroux cut out quite the figure.
His reason for being out this evening was to dine at the famous Bizinni, a 4 1/2 star restaurant that specialized in fresh pasta dishes. A close friend to Bianca, restaurant’s owner, Jezabroux had the honor of being able to stop by whenever he wished. Bianca had taken upon herself to leave one table always reserved for him, something Jezabroux greatly appreciated and found overwhelming. In return, he had offered his services as her private acupuncturist and made good use of the table, stopping by at least once every two weeks at the least.
Approaching the large building, Jezabroux tilted his head in thanks to the valet who opened the door for him. Stepping inside the restaurant, Jezabroux was welcomed by a blast of cool air and the familiar face of the hostess Nora, who smiled when she recognized Jezabroux through his sunglasses and bicolored hair.
“Your regular table Mr. Ferenan?” She inquired as she retrieved a menu for him.
“That would be delightful Nora.” Turning to follow the hostess, Jezabroux paused when he saw a lady at the very edge of the waiting room staring at those currently dining rather intently. “Actually Nora, prepare a seat for two please.” Leaving his hostess for a moment, Jezabroux stood behind the lady and gently cleared this throat. “Would you be interested in accompanying me for an early supper miss?”
He wasn't sure how long she had been waiting but if she wanted to be served, it was best to come with him rather than waiting around for another half hour if not longer.

Doucette had a tendency to daydream, letting her mind wander into any number of directions instead of allowing thoughts to solidify for pondering. But she wasn't the type to wander around with her head in the clouds and her vision filled with unicorns! Her daydreams just kept her from getting bored, and this particular meandering daydream had her pondering the origins of pasta and the classic argument between the Italians and the Chinese. Surely the Chinese had noodles first, but could that really be called pasta?
The Irish woman was in the midst of trying to remember the corresponding dates (that she didn't actually know, so the attempt was futile) when she was startled out of her thoughts and back to the present: waiting for a table. The wait was proving to be rather long, and though Doucette was in a pair of comfortable knee-high boots she was beginning to regret not having stolen a chair in the waiting room instead of standing along the edge. Big blues framed with those fiery crimped curls swiveled to meet the man's gaze, or at least the blank expanse of his shades. She did find it odd, but she didn't find need to comment. People were weird enough over her attire from time to time and she never thought there was reason for criticism.
"Oh, err, what?" she asked, her face coloring a silly shade of red along the cheek bones. It wouldn't take long for the flame to reach her ears. Doe's voice was strangely rough for her features, and it was laced with the promise of an Irish accent she'd spent a long time covering up. That didn't stop her from using strange Irish slang from time to time though. "Well, yea, that would be right cla..."
Perhaps it was a bad idea to be eating dinner with a man in sunglasses, but a peek at the hostess waiting for them with a markedly improved attitude gave her enough of a confirmation that the meal wouldn't go so terrible. Doucette gave a bouncy nod of her head before pushing her hair back behind her ears which were gratefully returning to their normal color: pale.
But she didn't know how to proceed next, so she shifted awkwardly on her feet and waiting for him to move to the table. Or something. She sure as skip wasn't going to be doing the leading to a table she didn't have a clue about!
