This is a private role play between Shin-Mu [Beejoux] and Nilgün [Mriae].

Setting:
Early afternoon at the Orishiburo Bath house.
Shin-Mu is relaxing in the cleansing warmth after a particularly nerve wracking encounter with some muddy water that got splashed all over her by the wheel of a passing cart.

Scrubbed and rescrubbed, and still she wasn't satisfied. The dirt still lingered. She couldn't see it, but she could feel. Her skin was crawling with filth and it had the dark lunarian in fits. It didn't matter that her skin was raw in places, or that she'd been at it for half an hour already. She still worked the rough sponge along her arms and legs, and it just wasn't enough.

Not until the first touch of crimson blossomed on her skin did she cease her obsessive cleaning. Startled by the sudden sting of hot water along her calf, Shin blinked down at her leg, lifting it up above the water line to stare at the damage she'd inflected upon herself. Brows pinched as if surprised, she turned the sponge over. It was red with her own blood. She hadn't done that to herself in quite some time. "A little overboard.."

She didn't generally talk to herself, functioning under the idea that there was never a spirit too far off, and anything she happened to say out load very well could be heard by a wandering soul. At least that's how she saw it, but then again the girl was a few eggs shy of a baker's dozen. Obsessive compulsion aside, she had a whole mess of social baggage. She wasn't crazy, but she wasn't exactly sane either, and for that she'd happily blame the seclusion of her youth.

The pain and realization that she'd managed to ware her skin away enough to bleed seemed to have knocked out her obsessive need to be clean, and she suddenly felt a great deal calmer then she had been in the last couple hours. Her skin, while raw and painful, no longer felt thick with filth and grim, and with a relived smile, she let herself sink down into steaming water up to her chin. Heaving a great sigh of relief.

It was time for a change of pace for a change. Tired of her somewhat normal routine of going to the bathhouse in either the early morning or the late evening, Nilgün had decided to shake things up a little. How? By going to the Oishiburo at a different time! It would be a different experience going in the early afternoon, but that was what the girl was looking forward to. Everyone needed a bit of variety in their schedules once and a while. Besides - she had gotten out of the Academy early that day, and was in need of some relaxation time. Nothing a good soak in her favorite bath wouldn't fix!

Nilgün greeted the bathhouse workers in a kind, yet curt manner as she walked in. Bathing products and towel in hand, she then proceeded to make her way toward the back to get changed. It didn't take her long to get undressed. Peeling off her usual attire in favor of those warm bath waters was welcomed in her mind, and the Legion girl really had no problem changing in front of the other women. She wasn't shy in the slightest. Once out of her clothes, Nil also made sure to take the earrings out of her fins and her hair tie and pins out of her cotton candy-colored locks. There was no way she'd allow those things to get wet from the bath waters. Not with the possibility of them getting damaged. With her hair falling down over her shoulders, she then proceeded to wrap herself up in her towel and then made her way out to her usual bath. This bath -- she had been looking forward to it all day. That is...until she saw another girl already in the waters.

'Who's that...' the Legionnaire thought to herself, 'and what does she think she is doing in my bath?'

Nilgün didn't say this out loud, of course. That would have been a horrible introduction to this -...well, whoever this girl was. Before Shin-mu could see her, the blue-skinned Lunarian couldn't help but gaze at her companion with an eye of scrutiny. Coal black orbs narrowed at the sight of the girl's skin. She had been scrubbing herself so hard that her skin had become raw. But that wasn't all; there were slightly reddish swirls in the water as well, from what she could see. Wonderful! Just wonderful! What a way to taint the minerals and the therapeutic properties of the waters before she even got in!

With a slight chill running down her spine from standing there for so long in nothing but a towel, it was time to get in the bath, Nilgün had decided. She stepped in gingerly, carefully removing her towel and setting it aside on a dry part of the floor. Only after she was submerged up to her shoulders did she finally address Shin-mu with a quiet, "You should be more careful." True, she was annoyed at the fact that she would have to share her bath, but she couldn't help gaze in slight concern at the obsessive cleaning habits the girl displayed. "While it's good to see a fellow personal-hygiene enthusiast, one should be wary not to take it too far. You'll only end up hurting yourself in the end." She then paused, assessing the situation within the waters before continuing on, "...As I'm sure you've already experienced."

She could feel her body relaxing a muscle at a time, and it drew a sigh from her lips. The warm, cleansing water felt do good after the nightmare of a day she'd had. The academy had been it's usual rollercoast of awkward conversations and socially triggered stress. Sure she was getting used to it, but that didn't exactly make it any less of an emotional and mental strain. She was still hoping that with time, her confusion towards her peers would fade. if she really thought about it, she had managed to to make a few acquaintances.

It was her walk home from the school that provided the near crippling panic attack that drove her to seek out the therapeutic waters of the bath house. A large mud puddle on the side of the road and a horse drawn cart. Her clothing was ruined, completely. The mud had gone everywhere, or so it seemed to poor Shin. Her face and shoulders had been badly splattered, hair sticking to her naturally dark skin. The silks of her usual attire had not provided adequate protection, and with the brunt of the mess destroying her skirt, her legs had been coated with gritty slime.

The bath house was closer then home, so she'd fled to there, somehow managing to purchase clean clothing on her way so she wouldn't have to put the soiled garments back on her clean body. That would just reignite her OCD, and the whole thing would start all over again.

Pale eyes closed, and lost in her own thoughts, Shin didn't notice the approach of the other girl until the stirring of the water lapped at her chin. Startled, she sat up abruptly, the wet ends of rosy blond fringe clinging to her cheeks as she stared at the new comer. The suggested caution made Shin look down towards her legs, and she drew them up against hr body, wrapping hr arms around her calves. Not modest or shy, but embarrassed that anyone had noticed the damage she'd caused herself.

She couldn't deny though that hat the other girl said wasn't interesting to Shin. Common threads of interest perked her curiosity rather easily, as she simply wasn't used to sharing hobbies or traits with anyone except the dearly departed. "I just got a little carried away, that's all. I wasn't paying attention, and didn't notice until it was too late. Thinking to hard, I guess."

She smoothed her hands down her legs, feeling the rough places where she'd scrubbed too rigorously. She'd lied to Nilgün, sort of. She had been thinking too hard, but she was 100% focused on what she was doing. Her obsessive need to stay clean wasn't something she was keen on easily sharing. It was a weakness, and in class they'd been teaching them not to flaunt their weakness, as they could be used against you.

"I'm Shin-Mu." Introductions were the gate way to conversation.

Wasn't paying attention? Uh-huh; sure. Nilgün didn't believe Shin-Mu for a second in that regard, but there was no way she was going to call out her bluff. Instead, she just expelled a sigh and allowed her limbs to relax within the warm depths of the bath. Cleaning was something most Lunarians paid attention to. It was important, after all, and if you didn't pay attention, you would miss something. In the Noble girl's case, she had been paying entirely too much. Enough, the Legion girl noted, to cause her skin to bleed. All of that was a bit much in her mind. Even she wasn't that obsessive.

Shin-Mu. Nil bit her tongue, refraining from repeating it out loud. It was a bit of a common name, wasn't it? At least...it sounded that way. Although the blue Lunarian was unsure of the origins of Shin's particular name, she knew it was probably far more common than her own. A common name for a common Lunarian. How fitting. As Nilgün looked at her fellow bath buddy, all she could do was nod her head in response. Introductions. It was probably best to get them out of the way sooner rather than later. Before stating her own introduction, however, she couldn't help but look at Shin-Mu again. This time her gaze was more intense, as if she were studying the Noble.

She looked familiar. Of course, Nilgün had never seen her before, but that was beside the point. The two of them were definitely around the same age - that much she was sure of. Perhaps Shin-Mu went to the Academy like she did? If so, she would have to take note to look out for her next time she was there. It never hurt to have another friend, especially one who shared things in common with you.

"That's a pretty name," Nilgun said, finally breaking her silence. A light blue hand appeared out of the depths after that, only to extend outward toward Shin-Mu. The nails on the Legion Lunarian's hand were a soft shade of pink that seemed to match perfectly with the color of the girl's hair. They were also well manicured. "I'm Nilgün." Obviously, appearances meant everything to Shin's companion. Looks were everything, yet at the same time, they were deceiving as well. That was one thing she always remembered.

Pale, lily green eyes were watching the other girl carefully. Not staring, nothing that obvious, but she was defiantly watching. Trying to read the subtle changes and shifts in the paler Lunarian's facial features and body language, and truthfully, thoroughly failing at it. She just didn't have enough experience with people to read them. She could see Nilgün thinking, but had no idea whatsoever what was on her mind, and that was unsettling to Shin.

The other girl probably should have looked familiar, but Shin just didn't pay that much attention to her fellow students at the academy. In all honesty she could probably only recognize two by name and face. Her lack of socializing could very well have had her coming off as stand offish, or even snobby.

She smiled when Nil complimented her name, oblivious to the fact that the comment was little more then empty words. "Thank you, it means "mother of perfect intelligence". I guess my mother knew I'd be smart, even from my birth." Likewise, she had no clue that what she'd just said could come off as bragging, or egotistical. To her it was simply fact. "Your names pretty as well, what does it mean, if you don't mind my asking?"

Shifting forward in the bath, Shin brought her hand up to take the other girl's for a shake. Olive polish shiny and free of any chips. Appearances were important to Shin as well, but probably for different reasons. Personal hygiene was a must, and she couldn't stand in others what she wouldn't tolerate for herself. So frayed and ragged clothing, unkempt hair, or other flaws were very off putting.

Shin-mu was a lot like her, or at least, that was the impression Nilgün was getting. Given the care her fingernails were given, the style and cleanliness of her clothes, and the intracacy of her hairstyle, she could tell that the darker-skinned Lunarian cared deeply for how she looked. That meant a lot to Nil as it meant one thing - the two of them had something in common. It wasn't very often that she found things that she shared with other girls, so frankly, this meeting was quite refreshing. She wasn't going to say that out loud, of course. That would just be sad. No, she'd keep that tidbit of information to herself as she continued on her discussion with the other girl.

The Legionnaire retracted her hand back with a nod as Shin-mu told her the meaning of her name. Mother of perfect intelligence? Ha! How presumptuous her mother had been to name her such a thing! After just breaking free of the confides of the egg, how is one supposed to know whether a Lunarian child would be perfectly intelligent or not? That's just the thing -- you don't! Shin-mu's mother was tempting fate by naming her little girl such a thing. After all, how was she to know her daughter would be so intellectual? The young Noble girl had yet to live up to her namesake, as far as she was concerned. 'Intelligent...right.' Her bath buddy was being quite egotistical with the comment about her mother, and Nil had the right mind to want to point that little fact out. She just kept her mouth shut on the matter, however, and kept her thoughts to herself. Shin-mu was coming off a bit on the slow side at this point, if anything.

A simple shrug followed at the question of her name. Although Nilgün was proud and particularly fond of her name (it was the most unique, and rather beautiful one, in her mind), she wasn't going to openly brag about it. There was no need to. The pink-haired girl knew her name was better than Shin-mu's, so that was all that mattered. Why was there a need to proclaim it to the world if she was already aware of the fact? "The meaning isn't all that flashy or anything," she admitted with a sheepish chuckle. That's it, Nil - downplay your name. Act humble, and she'll buy it with no problem. "But it means "blue as the sky." My family thought it fitting after they saw me the moment I broke free from my shell." That much was true. Sarfraz and Nadira both thought the name would be suited for their little girl. Before she was even born, the two of them had went through dozens of names; male and female. Neither of them knew what they were going to name their child. That is, until she hatched. That was when they knew. Nilgün. It was perfect, and so was she. Besides, no other name would have done her justice.

Settling back against the edge of the bath, Shin stretched her legs out carefully within the soothingly warm water. She enjoyed the bath house, but generally only indulged herself with a visit to it at hours of the day where it would be empty or mostly empty. She wasn't embarrassed or self conscious about her body, it was just that other women were chatty things, and they usually tried to talk to Shin, and about the most redundantly random topics.

Clues as the dark lunarian was, she had no idea how to casually extract herself from such conversations, and not wanting to be rude, ended up staying much longer then intended and with the constant chirping of gossip in her ear. After this had happened a time or two, Shin had decided it was better just to avoid the situation altogether.

That hadn't exactly been on her mind as she rushed into the bath house this afternoon, but she'd been relieved to discover that the baths were empty when she arrived. That certainly wasn't the case anymore, but Shin was surprised to find that she didn't mind talking to Nil. They seemed to share a thing or two in common if the state in which the pale lunarian maintained herself was any indication.

It seemed odd to Shin that someone so confident would act so coy when it came to their name. It didn't exactly fit in with the way Nil had been acting so far on their meeting. Of course, if Shin had s plain name like her's she might have been less proud to announce it as well. Of course she didn't want to make her feel bad, so she smiled at the meaning. "I would agree with your parents, your name seems very fitting." Fitting yes, but not exactly creative. She didn't dare say so out loud, though, she wasn't that socially retarded. Instead she smiled softly, combing dark fingers through blush colored flows of hair as they floated around her.
