Cassius enjoyed sex shops.
He liked how embarrassed everybody acted when they walked towards it and contemplated going in. It was even better at night since people needed to get the various 'things' they needed. Everyone avoided and yet always made their way inside eventually. They were such great establishments for that reason. Plus, once inside the products were endless and amazing. He would have owned many sex shops if he could.
At the moment, Cassius was leaning against a nearby street lamp and watching for any strange activity in front of a said sex shop. It was late and the air was getting crisper as it became darker around him. In truth he had no dire task at hand, so he was told to watch for senshi- or whatever that meant. He hadn't seen one yet. He had no idea what they looked like or what they did. He assumed so far he was doing great.
Didn't senshi hang out near sex shops? Maybe he was going off of a limb here but in his own mind that conclusion made sense. Senshi were kinky little creatures. Right?
That'd be pretty sweet.

She had been hidden away for weeks. She wasn't completely healed yet-- well, she thought she was. However, she had been warned not to do anything too strenuous. Sadly, this included fighting senshi, wrestling with senshi, pretty much anything involving senshi. So, in Variscite's mind, where was the least likely place for a senshi to show up?
Well, a sex shop of course. Most of the senshi appeared to be prudes. Boring, teasing... no, there would be no senshi to fight at this boutique. However, there would be humans. Humans had Star Seeds, and generally didn't put up any kind of fight.
So, with make-up on her face to hide the scarring that hadn't completely healed, Variscite stood outside of "La Rosa de la Noche". The gaudy pink sign read "OPEN" in large, cursive letters, and it looked like a couple or two might've actually been inside.
Variscite looked over her shoulder at the dim light on the street before walking up the steps. She had no reason to hesitate, even when she was human.

Cassius was quick to notice the black haired female approaching the shop. There was something about her that brought about a weird familiar feeling. Either way, she was pretty, so he was of course interested. As he watched her make her way inside the "La Rosa de la Noche", he contemplated following. He was supposed to look for suspicious people, so perhaps this girl would help his cause?
He left his post and walked towards the steps to the shop, and within a few seconds he was inside and the light 'ding' of the store bell rang. To his surprise there were quite a few people inside, although at first glance the girl was no where to be found. Perhaps she went through an isle already? Scorzalite figured that was a good idea for himself.
The isle he found his way in was solely for 'female pleasure'. He saw one other guy there looking utterly confused, which was hilarious. Cassius stood by the products as if he was interested, but continued to watch the other isles for any movement. Finally, he spotted the familiar looking girl, and was all too curious at what she was doing there.
It felt strange to approach her so quickly, so instead he just watched her carefully. Was she there to buy something kinky? Or was she there to become a problem for him? He was giddy in finding out.

The poor gentleman was staring at a box of dental dams, wondering about how they worked. Were they like mouth guards that football players used?
He stiffened, his eyes widening somewhat. It almost looked like a lightbulb went off in his head, until he crumpled forward, leaning against the aisle wall. If his body was ever pulled away, he might have a certain 'bead' imprint on his face.
Variscite's eyes were on Cassius, though, even as the Star Seed glittered in her hand. With a quick toss, the crystalline object shimmered into Negaspace. Her mind felt fuzzy, and her pulse was quickening.
Out of all the humans she had encountered, it had to be Cassius. Out of all the humans that had to see her taking a Star Seed, it had to be Cassius.
Why?
She considered him a frien-- well, someone to talk to. Yes. He was someone who admired her, when he was someone to be admired himself.
So, with a low voice she said: "Cassius."
She wasn't sure what else to say yet, it would probably be better to judge his reaction. If he started screaming and attracting attention, it would probably be over for him... sadly.

He watched as the strange scene unfolded and could only say one thing to the familiar looking face. "Human's have Star Seeds? Apparently I have a lot to learn." His voice was surprised, since he honestly had no idea. Plus this was the first time he'd seen power like this. He heard about it just days ago but had no idea it was so.. easy looking. So this was the power he was capable of? If such was the case he would have stolen quite a few in all of this downtime he had. Now he just felt silly.
As he continued to look into the female's eyes, he was ninety percent sure it was one person and one person only. "Its really has been awhile, Dale darling." So wait, was Dale in the Negaverse? That would explain her odd injuries the last time he met her. "Seeing you like this makes me wonder if you are a comrade." He was hoping that was the case. If Dale was a Senshi then he'd really give up on understanding anything at this point.
She looked just as surprised to see him in such a scenario. He figured he'd help her out a bit, and make things a bit more relative. "It's Scorzalite, by the way." With a light wink, he walked a bit closer and looked for more details at what just happened. "So, since you are a badass and everything, how did you just do that?"
He had no idea if she'd believe him, but he was ready to bother her nonetheless, just like last time.

At first Variscite said nothing. She only winced when he pegged her identity. Really, maybe if she paraded around in a short skirt like the senshi, people wouldn't recognize her. But she had to deal with short skirts enough when she was attending Crystal's classes. Ugh. Some women just work better in pants, and Variscite was one of them.
Finally, she locked her eyes onto his silver ones and said: "So, you're loyal to the Queen as well, then?"
Variscite's stomach was churning. She wanted to believe Cassius, but there was no transformation, no nothing. Just a boy in casual clothes that had walked onto the theft of a Star Seed.
"Hasn't your leader taught you anything?" Variscite finally continued. "I thought that's why they put in leaders. My Captain has taught me a lot..."
She tried to stop herself, but her lip quivered-- just a touch. She hoped that it would go unnoticed. She shook her head and continued. "I guess I was lucky to get someone who knew what they were doing. You didn't now about human Star Seeds?"
Variscite crossed her arms and looked around. There was no one in their aisle, only the rustling of a bead curtain when the owner went back to check on the customer that had ventured to the video rental section.
"Everything is much easier in your lieutenant form, Cassius. Let's start with there."

"I'm loyal, although I'm new.." he frowned lightly and knew the situation was certainly embarrassing. He probably should have asked more questions, but that in itself seemed like an easy way to stand out like an idiot. "I am supposed to meet my Captain very soon, so until then I've been on standby." ... or whatever that meant. He was doing his best. Kinda.
Everything became more interesting when finding out that human's carried Star Seeds. "I thought I had to just look for Senshi. Now it seems like I'll be able to have some more fun." He smiled at her and noticed the slight distress in her face. Was he really not believable as a Negaverser? Apparently he had a lot of work to do. He hated being behind on information like this, so all he could do was hide his own unhappiness with an overly friendly demeanor.
"I'm thankful that I ran into you. I wouldn't want to learn these things from anybody else." He missed Dale, although she probably didn't miss him. If anything he probably interrupted her fun.
"I've transformed once before, when I met Ms. Nealite." He paused and looked down at his hands for a moment. "But I think she helped me do it or something." He hadn't really tried since then. He was somewhat afraid to damper with these undiscovered powers. "I must look really, really stupid." Cassius was still smiling at her even as he spoke.
"I'm really not this pathetic, I promise." If only she knew.

((I'm sorry I've been taking so long. My computer is in the garbage so I've been relying on school computers, bleh.))
Variscite stared at Cassius. Who was this Captain he had been assigned to, anyway? How could people that useless be promoted before her? The woman cursed at herself for getting injured so easily like that. Her blame-game was annoying, but at least she had gotten over blaming everything on Obsidian. The fact that he was her Captain said something, at least. Whether he chose it or not, at least someone noticed that they had some sort of connection. She had trusted him, as she had trusted him. No, she still trusted him. He would make her succeed, even if he smashed her head in first.
Even though Variscite had bent to Obsidian's use of vinegar, the lieutenant decided to use honey on Cassius. It seemed to work well enough with him, and it wasn't difficult. He a puppy-dog expression whenever she saw him, and Variscite couldn't help but wonder if he had it around everyone or if he just had a thing for cool women.
"Ms. Nealite?" Variscite couldn't help but smirk. "That's Mrs. Killingworth, and Queen of the Negaverse. She's the Queen that we all fight for, that we'd all give our lives for."
Variscite's speech came out almost a little robotic.
"She's the reason Dale became Variscite. She's the reason I'm still alive. It's all because of her grace."
Variscite sighed, and sounded like herself again.
"To be honest, I'm a little annoyed that our Queen is tied down to a man. But those feelings are what got me in trouble before. Mention my opinion to anyone, and I'll have my butler roast you over a grill."
She rose to her full height (still shorter than Cassius) and glared at him. It didn't last long, though, not with those pretty silver eyes looking back at her-- she couldn't help but laugh at his expression! Had she looked like that when she was new?
She couldn't speak like that, yet. A reminder rang in her ear that she was still pretty new, herself.
"Cassius. Scorzalite. Everyone can transform on their own. It's sweet that you got help, but you've got to learn how to do it on your own, too. Just think about it!" Variscite reached out with a gloved finger and pointed at him. "Think about the power you get as Scorzalite. Think of the Negaverse. It helps if I imagine the intense darkness that envelops me when I become who I am. Give it a shot."
Why, yes, she did just give a twisted version of Peter Pan's speech. If you told her that, though, she probably would retreat back to Mr. Rook's apartment for another week or so.

(( Don't worry at all I have had like no internet time so I understand and am in a similar boat ;; <3 ))
The one thing Cassius loved about Dale was that she was a proud individual. He listened as she spoke of their Queen and of her own triumph in the Negaverse as Variscite. As a newbie it was inspiring to hear all this from her. He wanted to also believe everything she had said. Would he feel the same way about her devotion to the Negaverse? He damn well hoped so. The Queen believed in him so it was now his turn to do the same.
"Your secret is safe with me." He nodded childishly and continued to listen to her 'transformation' advice. Was it really that easy? Maybe he was still in a limbo of not believing everything around him. He wanted his power very badly but wasn't used to the fact that it existed just yet.
"I will try." he then added, while closing his eyes in an effort to focus. Intense darkness... Who was he? Cassius James-- no..
He remembered the day he met with the Queen well. They didn't talk much, but Nealite noticed his trickster mentality and offered him more to what he was. That's when Scorzalite appeared. The perfect gentlemen mixed with a nasty intelligence and a unusual strength. The guy who'd rather leave with all the money then play fairly and keep comrades. The brute who lucked out almost too easily in every scenario. He was who he was.
When he opened his eyes, he felt different. His bright purple suit lay crisp on his body, and his smirk returned almost too comfortably. "I feel so much better this way, as Scorzalite."
It really was as easy as Variscite said. Now he could definitely do it more often. "Thanks darling. I owe ya." He clenched his fists quickly while feeling the rush of energy. "Just remember, I got your back."

"Now that's it!" Variscite walked over to the newly-transformed lieutenant and adjusted his jacket. "Why am I not surprised that you'd rival me in flamboyancy? I wouldn't go around calling me 'darling' too much, though." She tapped his nose with a clawed finger and walked away.
"There are still others in here. Would you like to try stealing a Star Seed?"
She looked him over, and raised an eyebrow. Normally weapons were obvious. A large squeaky hammer, some kind of toy, or nails in her case.
"Where's your weapon?" she asked. "And before you answer, I don't mean any sort of 'weapon' that might be found in your pants. But you should know that by now..."
