Personality: Topaz grew up being treated like a spoiled rotten brat, but yet she does not act like one. She demands to be treated with respect and turns down all requests for gifts. She doesn’t talk much, and she looks like she doesn’t care about anyone. She does this so that her emotions do not take control. During moments of vulnerability, she will show her emotions. She is very formal and only acts otherwise with other Captains of the Soul Society.

Bankai ability: The blade turns into large metal bracelets along with a large metal headband around her head. These disks allow her to manifest and control lightning even if the skies are cloudless. This takes great reiatsu control and is very difficult to maintain.

Biography:
Topaz Yamamoto is the grand daughter of the former Head Captain Yamamoto. She grew up in one of the middle class districts in the Rukongai with her mother, because her father was already a Shinigami. One morning she woke up with a strange feeling. She ran into the kitchen and ate almost everything there. Her mother came in later to find her daughter lying on the floor, with her hands on her stomach and a smile on her face. She knew then that, because she had hunger, she had spiritual pressure, and therefore could become a Shinigami, which was the one thing that Topaz wanted more thing anything else.
Her mother sent her to the Shinigami academy and she trained as hard as she could so that she could graduated as quickly as possible and become a Shinigami.
Because of the abilities of her small body and stealthy and quick movements, she was sent to be in Squad 2. She was an unseated member when she first arrived, but she worked hard and soon fell into the ranks of the seated officers. Soi Fon took a liking to her and trained her. Topaz refused to learn Shunku, saying that she had no right to learn that ability.
She never knew that the Head Captain was related to her, and never found her father in the Shinigami ranks either, he had been killed before she ever got there.
Soon after the battle with Aizen and the Espada (which the head Captain had forbid her to participate in), she became Captain of Squad 2, after achieving bankai.
