Darian sat in the music store, well after the doors were shut and locked. The lights were still on since the person who was closing was still in back, organizing some things. This gave the curious little Lynx a chance to roam freely without the fear of being caught. Not that he usually did have that fear. He was rather oblivious to worry. He lingered around the keyboard section. He very much preferred this area rather than guitars or drums. Plus, he was super lucky to have a kid's version of a keyboard on display. The keys were smaller, for a child's fingers. Sure, they were still a bit large but Darian could play much easier on this. The quality of the sound wasn't the same but it was more relaxing for him.
He sat at the keyboard and cracked his knuckles, a large grin painting itself all over his mug. "Alright, baby. Show me what you've got," he spoke to the instrument and began to tap his fingers all along the keys, creating a beautiful melodic tune. He hummed softly after he finished playing around a bit. He was more skilled than any other cat he had met so far, but then again, he didn't know many. He really should try getting out there and meeting more friendly faces. Friends are a very important part of life. Well, at least Darian thought so. He hopped off the little bench and walked around some more before stumbling upon some music books. He pulled out of the rack and flipped it open. It explained all the sharps and flats. Treble and Bass clefs. He had seen these symbols before, but he wasn't to familiar with them. He wasn't a terrific music reader but he could understand. He wanted it to be second nature. He reached up and felt the charms hanging from his collar, the ones that matched the book.
As soon as his fingers fumbled with them for a few seconds he got a grand idea. "I know what I'll do! I'll make them into a charm bracelet so that whenever I draw a blank I can quiz myself with my bracelet! Oh, I'm so clever!" he mused and swayed around rapidly with giddy joy. "Allllrighty then! I've got this! I'll just tie them to my wrist, or... something..." He tugged at the collar but it was definitely going to take a little more than just a tug. "Uuugh... really?! Are you serious?" He gave a dramatic sigh and sat down, feeling already defeated. "Grr... I know what I'm going to do..." he jumped up on his feet just as he had gotten the idea and scurried to the back, trying to avoid the worker. "They have a box cutter thingy back here... hm.... it's really sharp. I'll cut my collar off!"
He used his cat like agility to sneak back there and locate the sharp object, using it carefully to slide along the collar. The tool was heavy to say the least but it was working, Darian could hear the progress. Each thread was giving way to the sharpened metal blade. It wasn't to long before there was a weight lifted off of his neck, but there was also the unnerving sensation of the blade digging into his skin. "Ouch Ouch Ouch!" He cried out in a hiss. He backed away and saw the blood on the tip of the blade and widened his eyes. "Oh no! I cut myself!" he swallowed hard and put his hand to the wound. It wasn't that bad, but it was definitely bleeding. Besides that he must have made a lot of noise because a human was running his way, looking alarmed at all his commotion. "Oh snap!" he widened his eyes and picked up his discarded collar. "Well, time to go!" He chuckled before speeding away from the worker and sneaking out of a high window, where he had sneaked in from. Now all he had to do was find out how to put these charms onto his wrist so he could see them all the time.
