It was a very lovely day out, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, animals crittering, and the cool breeze was refreshing for those with overly hot skin. It seemed like a peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature in all her glory...
But then the calming silence was interrupted by a loud BANG sound, as if something were dropped to the ground suddenly, a low whimper coming from a lone pink and black feathered basket. It would seem that it had been abandoned, no one around for miles or so it had seemed that way.

Boris had been carelessly plodding along with an odd amount of luck that he hadn't treaded upon his pink fluffy boa and gone flying to the ground yet. It had amazed most soquili that he could still cope with the heat with his black coat and all his accessories. He didn't care much about himself and he shrugged the bothersome thoughts to the back of his mind. He was comfortable and that's what mattered.
As he made his way down along the forests edge, the path was long and clear and Boris was just enjoying the lazy sunny day and the whistling of the birds and rustling of mice. It meant more food in the open for him! His mouth watered at the thought and he kept a quick eye for any nibbling critters. Although, what hadn't came to mind was watching where he was going and the moment a BANG sounded in front of him - it was too late! The cheshire kitty felt both of his two front legs go underneath him and was sent rolling across the ground, an object spiralled over him and in a moment he was back on all four feet, ear's peaked upright and his hooves touching, as shivers ran up his ears and down along his tail reaching for the sky. "SCREEEEEEEE!? Huh? What's that?"
A pretty bead caught his eye, shining within the sunlight. A basket. It had appeared out of no where and it was heavy at that! Or else it wouldn't of tripped him and instead the whole mess would of been avoided and it would have been smashed but - It wasn't.
Curiously, he approached it now back to the right posture and lowered his head to catch a scent. It had a livelier smell and a strange sound was coming from it so he moved closer and let his ear rest next to it.
BuHdUM... BuhDUm...
"What a... Strange sound. I like it. I think I'm going to keep you." He beamed, his tone unnaturally happy and allured.

The form inside the basket paused in its whimpering at the deepish male voice coming outside its woven home. 'Keep?' It thought and continued listening to the soothing deep and cheery voice. It's thoughts were interrupted by movement and the sent of male coming closer. Taking a breath in, the creature thought whoever was out there smelt lovely. 'Mine' The being in the basket thought, ' Nice voice is mine now.' That decided, a soft coo sound came out followed by a happy wiggle that moved the basket closer to the source of sound and warmth.

Boris' eyes widened when the basket wiggled and cooed. It moved and made another noise..? Was it alive? The more fun he would have! He poked at it with his nose, wondering if it would talk back to him. "Hello?" The cheshire stallion asked, with immediate hope but as he waited for a reply and none followed his face fell into dissapointment. 'Is it edible?' He thought, looking to the right and then to the left to see if anyone was around but as the warming sound entered his ears again, his heart would have fluttered like a butterfly if he had one and the thought of eating such a thing sickened him. It was his and his alone and to trully own something made him feel... Good. His smile softened and if it were living; would it need to be fed too?
"AH! You must be hungry! I know, lets go hunt some mice! They're really yummy and they're fun to chase hehe. You'll have lots of fun." He laughed lightly, and nudged the basket into the comfort of his boa. It weighed the scarf like thing down but it would be the easiest way of trailing 'his possession' around with him.
The two of them, by the help of Boris' fluffy boa were now making their way down the path once again, still he searched for mice, even birds that would be easy enough to pounce on and take down and with every step his piercings chimed, making a soothing melodic sound.

The foal inside the basket felt the nudge and heard the greeting but decided to stay quiet for now, at least until it felt comfortable enough to come out of the basket. Its thoughts were suddenly interrupted by movement, it froze as it was being lifted upperward and then slowly began to relax as 'lovely voice' began to talk. Being cautious, it lifted the basket lid up a bit to see what was going on only to realize it was being carried on someones back.
'Oh, pretty colors!' It thought as it look at what appeared to be a purple-pink tail. Feeling brave it nudged the 'tail' and found it to be nice and soft. The rocking motion of Boris body as well as the sound of chimes was soon putting the young foal to a nice comforting sleep. It squeaked out a yawn before closing its eyes.

Boris hissed when his tail was 'nudged' and darted forward having jumped out of his wits almost. He skidded to the side and shot a glance at the point where he was nudged but, no one was there! He flicked his tail side to side with a sweat bead. "W-what the-" he stammered, confused before his ears twitched, catching the sound of the tiny cute screech and then slowly turned his head to the side to look at the basket; catching the lid close.
"...There's something in there!?" His eyes widened and he bent his two front legs carefully sliding the basket down the boa like it was on a slide, before staring at it for a while, in thought. 'What if it's a monster...What if it's dangerous? Ooo all the better!' He grinned and couldn't resist temptation any longer.
"Who's in there?" He circled the basket quickly with a skip in his step and then nudged the lid open just enough to peer into it with his nose and two beady amber eyes peaked through to the being inside.

Being put down disturbed his rest and deep voice was back. He had that moment thought before suddenly someone was opening his basket, to late to hold the lid down Konrad realized before he was staring into curious amber eyes. "Hello," He squeaked out, not yet developed the deeper vocal cords like Boris. "I Konrad, who you?"
The basket had been his home for the past few months now, I guess its time to come out and see the world with all its beauty among other things. Konrad's eyes widen as he finally took in his rescuer. Black, pink, purple, and gold colored with babbles and neat things everywhere on him. "Kitty? " He tilted his head and came closer to touch Boris boa.

This was a surprise! It was a creature like him... Except smaller and very squeaky. He tilted his head, surprised but at least now he had a friend! His grin grew like a cheshire cat from ear to ear and nudged his head up further the entire of the top lid falling off and on to the floor. Now he could see the foal much clearer. It was a boy, with baby pink markings with black and white stripes.
Finally, a reply! "Hello Konrad!" He paused pushing closer to nuzzle him. "I'm Boris!" He was so happy to know that his 'possession' could actually talk. Now he wouldn't be lonely they could have fun all the time.
"Kitty?" He repeated, twitching his ears. "AH!" Boris spun and remembered Konrad had nudged his tail earlier, so he swished his tail gently under the colt's chin and looked over his shoulder to watch it's reaction eagerly.

" 'oris! " Konrad smiled, "Kitty-oris!" He squealed happily as Boris' tail tickled his chin and nudged it with his nose, licking it curious as young foals sometimes do. Wrinkling his nose at the fur on his tongue, he shook his head and looked around curious at where they were. Konrad began to walk on wobbley legs, trying to get the feel of walking since it was his first time doing so. He was interrupted by a sudden growl, with wide eyes he looked down, almost falling over, at this stomach. " Hungry." He looked a Boris with somewhat watery eyes. " I hungry 'oris! "

Boris watched and turned fully around again, seeing the foal take his first steps. He should of been honored. With a small smile on his face and tail wagging he thought about the hunting he could teach the foal and just maybe, Konrad would like the taste of rats, fish and birds just like he did.
"Konrad, let's go hunting!" He lowered his front legs, rear in the air and made a mighty, graceful leap over him racing off towards the forest and paused, skidding to the side to face back into the direction where Konrad was with an excited gleam in his eyes, grinning.
"Do you know what a bird is?" He asked, and nudged his head sideward. "Come on, it's this way!"

Konrad felt his jaw drop and his eyes dry as Boris leapt over his head. "Wooooow." Konrad tried his hardest to keep up to Konrad but being a newly walking foal, he couldn't move as quickly as he wanted to and fell. He shook his head dazely and tried to focus on Boris. After a few seconds Boris words registered. " Burd? What is burd 'oris? I follow? Kay." More slowly his time and watching his steps, he followed behind Boris to find out what a bird was and possibly to find food.

Boris blinked. He didn't know what a bird was? Being young he guessed it was expected. Hmm. "Well, they fly in the sky with wings and squawk with their beaks!" The pink kitty wasn't aware that the foal didn't have a remote clue about half the things he just said but that was the only way he could explain it. He was shifting his body around just a bit also trying to describe with movements but it didn't come out so clear.
At the mere thought of birds, his mouth watered.
He chuckled and shook his head, snapping out of the dream zone the thoughts had turned it in to. "Nevermind, why tell when I can show you anyway?" He winked, trotting along slowly as to give the foal chance to catch up. He was very new to his legs but this would help him get better used to them having a motive and determination to follow the mutant stallion.
That's the way Boris thought of it, at least
