Edmund followed Aiden into what was going to be their room. He already had his side mostly set up since he had been staying there on and off for a week or two. He wasn't bothered by the fact Aiden went off into the bathroom to change, in fact he was more relieved then anything. He wasn't one to strip down in front of other people either. Even in front of family he was a little shy.

Edmund changed into a set of blue, well he had been told they were blue, pjs and then sat on his bed. He thought about the fact he'd now have a roommate and smiled a little. Edmund didn't like sleeping in here on his own, and plus, he really like Aiden so far and was sure if they were roommates they'd definitely become friends. He pulled out a book on gardening and started flipping through it while he waited for Aiden to come out of the bathroom.

Edmund looked up from the book he was reading when Aiden returned. "Oh I'm reading a book on gardening and plants." he turned the page and held up a picture of someone planting some vegetables. "I have a garden at home, but...hopefully there's somewhere around school where they'll let me plant some things or something." he settled the book back onto the bed.

Edmund's gaze followed Aiden's nod out the window and he peered out at all the space. "Yeah you're probably right." He smiled a little. "I think it's the best. I love the feeling of the dirt on my hands, and the smell. I love planting things and getting to watch them slowly grow. Plus when it's vegetables it's really fun to get to eat them and know it was something you...made happen yourself. And the flowers are so beautiful, and then smell so good. Even if I can't always see all the colors right, it just makes me...really happy" During his little speech about gardening his smile slowly grew until he realized that he was starting to ramble. When he stopped he had a light embarrassed blush dusting his cheeks. He ran his fingers along the pages of his book in a nervous gesture.

Edmund listened to Aiden with a thoughtful look on his face. "Maybe you just haven't found that thing yet. There are other things I like, but not quite as much as gardening." he shut his book and put it away for now. "I mean it takes some people a long time to find their passion in life I think. I was lucky in a weird way. Even though I got sick and I don't remember things, my garden was right there, and I could see how much time and love I had put into it. So I didn't have to search much, it was like it was there waiting for me. But I think usually people have to search a little. But I guess...I don't really know." He brought his knees up to hug them and rested his chin on them and peered at Aiden. "But um...if you want to sometime you could try gardening with me."

Edmund smiled and chuckled a little at the brown thumb statement. "I'm sure you'll do just fine." He stood and padded on bare feet over to the bathroom door. "I'm um, going to brush my teeth and stuff now." He didn't want to walk out on their conversation, but he was getting sleepy and he wanted to make sure he brushed his teeth. "Maybe tomorrow we can look through a book and you can pick out what kind of flower you want to plant?"

Edmund paused in the door as Aiden spoke. "Oh no, it's ok. I've really liked talking to you." He smiled, and that same smiled broadened as Aiden said picking out flowers would be fun. "Goodnight Aiden." he said before going into the bathroom to get ready for bed. Once he finished, he lay down in his bed and pulled the covers up around him. It had been a long and weird night, but it had ended on a good note. Edmund let all the thoughts from the night slip away and he drifted happily off to sleep.
