___________________GENDER / SEXUAL PREFERENCE ♂ / Heterosexual____________๑ ๑ P E R S O N A L I T Y++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++___________________If you ever want something done, N'tin is the man for you. This rider describes hard
___________________working to a T, diligently going about chores and classes with an energy that one would
___________________think is happy. Taking a look at his face, however, can convince otherwise if you don't
___________________know him enough. He never laughs or smiles, and in connection with his slightly imposing
___________________figure he can seem overwhelmingly serious. And to a degree this is true; he takes every
___________________task set before him with a serious mindset in order to get things done.
___________________This young man may be verbally unresponsive outside of a few words (and we do mean few),
___________________but he is not stupid but instead learns at a different pace. Used to the tried and true traditions
___________________he was brought up with, it takes him a while to adjust to a new trick or technique. He is also
___________________better with handiwork rather than bookwork, and can be best used in manual labor where his
___________________practical knowledge works best. He has not been known to quit a project halfway through, and
___________________as such has been admired for his reliability.
___________________N'tin's expression and attitude give him an aloof or judgmental air, and this deters most people
___________________who try to talk to him. Despite this he is not a judgmental person and will listen and respond if
___________________approached and a conversation started. If anything he treats in kind, and those who show him
___________________kindness will receive it from him in return. However he has no problems brushing off or ignoring
___________________those who treat him badly - they have done nothing worthy of his respect, why should he care
___________________what they have to say? To those he befriends, they will find a fiercely loyal friend, although he
___________________will not outright admit it. Any show of such will be understated and kept private.
___________________If he has any true desire other than seeing things working smoothly, it's to see that those he
___________________cares about are taken care of, and he will do whatever they ask of him to ensure that. Should
___________________any of them should figure this quirk out and abuse it, he would likely notice but not say a word.
___________________It is not that he fears rejection, but rather a large show of emotion on the other party's part;
___________________that is unsavory territory for him, as he does not know how to handle overemotional people
___________________and will either walk away or stand there dumbly in silence. If it is a child, though, he seems
___________________a little better equipped with this, having seen enough young cousins during his turns, and is
___________________a bit firmer with young ones in order to steer them in the right direction.
___________________N'tin is also hard pressed when it comes to expressing himself with words or facial features.
___________________Generally he is too focused on his task and finds himself at a loss when it comes to making
___________________casual conversation and opts for silence to observe instead. His parents even wondered if he
___________________was a bit of a dimglow for being so quiet all the time, but his eyes spoke enough of his
___________________comprehension of their requests. He is fine with receiving and giving orders, or when
___________________asked a question; when others prompt the conversation, he is better equipped. Otherwise he
___________________doesn't know what to say to people, and this makes him quite socially awkward. He is better
___________________at forms of expression with his hands or through other physical actions rather than words.
___________________Although sometimes one can tell how he's feeling by looking at his eyes - only if you know
___________________him well enough.
___________________On the completely silly side, he is also ticklish. The location of where this spot is is his most
___________________heavily guarded secret - which only Tiepet seems to know and exploit whenever she gets the
___________________chance. It makes the fact that a young Candidate can best a rider much bigger than her
___________________doubly funny.____________๑ ๑ A P P E A R A N C E++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++___________________Even at his young age, N'tin's lifestyle has had a pretty direct impact on his figure.
___________________In combination with an early puberty, an athletic, fit build fills out his moderately
___________________broad-shouldered frame. He has a certain long quality all over, ranging from his
___________________height, torso, and arms, but not when it comes to his legs. Large feet and hands
___________________add to this and creates an overall clownish appearance, should he be standing still.
___________________Once in motion, however, it is obvious he knows how to carry himself with purpose
___________________and not flail around aimlessly, giving the impression that he is not one who tends
___________________to idle. Both his hands and feet are heavily calloused from hard work.
___________________He has short coffee-colored hair crowning his head, complimented with long bangs
___________________that obscure his dark blue eyes if not pushed out of the way and sideburns that
___________________fades into stubble the further down his squared jaw it travels. He wears a headband
___________________sewn by his older sister in order to keep his bangs in check, which causes his hair to
___________________stand up at odd angles (depending on the level of the day's activity). Luckily, he has
___________________a healthy skin tone that stays nicely tanned thanks to his time in the sun, and takes
___________________a while to fade during the cooler months. His face is rounded out with a crooked nose
___________________and a large mouth that one would think expressive - which instead stays firmly fixed
___________________in a line or a slight frown, giving off the impression that he is constantly bored or
___________________displeased with something in life.
___________________When it comes to clothing, N'tin is far from fashion forward. He opts for clothing that
___________________is easy to maneuver in and provides ample pocket space. His sand-colored tunic
___________________always has the sleeves rolled up tightly above the elbows and tucked into dark breeches.
___________________Thick-soled boots conceal the bottom of his pants, and a vest that matches in shade
___________________complete his look. He is oftentimes seen wearing thick work gloves or carrying an old
___________________knapsack, filled with tools he uses throughout the day. By far the most decorative item
___________________is the headband he always wears, the reds and greens interwoven with the basic brownish
___________________-yellow material; it is also the cleanest item on him (or the only item he will take pains
___________________to keep clean), as most of his possessions retain a healthy coating of dirt on them.

____________๑ ๑ B E G I N N I N G S+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
___________________Nitin was born to a Beastcraft family in Malvren Weyr as their second son and
___________________third child. The whole clan - cousins, grandparents, and siblings alike - worked
___________________with herd beasts, and while not producing the flock of the best quality did do
___________________rather well for themselves. In the same manner as his older brother, Nitin's
___________________early turns were spent tending the flocks and learning the basics of the craft.
___________________But as the child grew, he did not take to his job as passionately as his parents
___________________would have hoped. Granted he did his chores without complaint and to completion,
___________________but there was no real interest in what he was doing. The child was often described
___________________as sullen, even being called a dimglow at times, but none could complain about his
___________________work ethic.
___________________But life for Nitin was dull. Outside of his chores and the occasional playtime with
___________________his cousins (namely his six-turn junior, Tiepet, whom he found amusement in
___________________watching), there was nothing to look forward to, other than the chance to possibly
___________________witness Flights and the news of Hatchings reaching his ears. He alone shared these
___________________concerns with his older sister, along with his dreams. There may have been more out
___________________there for him, but he only knew how to work with wherries and herd beasts. What else
___________________could there have been for him? The young woman listened to him and kept his dreams
___________________between the two of them, and for his part he valued her confidence.
___________________She suggested the idea of becoming a Candidate. As thrilling as the idea of being
___________________a rider was to the young Nitin, he wasn't sure if he was quite cut out for it. But his
___________________sister gently insisted, and shortly before the start of his twelfth turn he made his
___________________decision - he would become a Candidate.
___________________The decision was born partly out of a innate curiosity to explore life outside of the world
___________________of herd beasts, and his desire to do something a little more. While his family was at
___________________first dubious to this choice, they were eventually swayed to the idea after realizing that
___________________this was the first time that Nitin had shown fierce interest in anything, along with persuasion
___________________from their second child. His older sister gifted him with a new headband as a token of good
___________________luck in his new path, and he went to live in the Candidate barracks shortly after the start of
___________________his fourteenth turn.
___________________The young man was as distant as ever during his initial time in the barracks; he never
___________________went of his way to talk to others but merely observed. Those who approached him,
___________________however, found themselves a companion who would treat in kind and return the favor,
___________________despite not being much of a conversationalist. The bustle of this section of the Weyr
___________________was so different from what he was used to, and he was rather pleased with the change
___________________of pace. Chores were done with diligence and no complaint, and any who approached him
___________________for aid were given a nod and an able-bodied assistant. Once the work was done, though,
___________________he retreated from the crowds and kept to himself - to save from any sense of awkwardness.
___________________This lent him a reliable reputation but also an aloof one outside of social circles.
___________________Nitin went to the sands for the first time during his fifteenth turn, but unfortunately the effort
___________________was not rewarded and he walked away without Impressing. He dove into his work and lessons
___________________instead, keeping a secret hope alive that maybe next time things would look up for him, if he
___________________worked hard enough. With the approach of another Hatching a few turns later, he began to feel
___________________anxious again. Would he Impress this time? All of the barracks were in a tizzy as Candidates
___________________buzzed about who could be next to Impress, and a wayward comment reached Nitin's ears -
___________________"Certainly not Nitin. He's too cold to Impress a dragon."
___________________During the time leading up to and during the Hatching, the comment bothered him as he
___________________Stood on the sands. Despondent eyes watched dragonets meet Theirs, Impressions forged..
___________________perhaps he was too cold for this. With each hatched egg, his expectations dropped..
___________________Until the green dragonet approached him. His surprise lent him a wide-eyed look that was
___________________new to him (and the others around him), and it seemed to amuse his new friend and companion.
___________________It was then, at eighteen turns, Nitin became N'tin, and his life took an unexpected turn for
___________________the better.

___________________character, albeit slightly selfish, this dragon is content to chat the day away to any
___________________and all, especially Hers. She is sharply intelligent and good at reading others,
___________________namely N'tin, and enjoys interpreting his moods to others, as she feels like it gives
___________________her a privilege over others when it comes to their relationship.
___________________However, she clings to others and depends on them to do things for her, often
___________________feeling hurt when they don't notice her or come through. While she may be smart,
___________________she is also very lazy; sleeping in is one of her favorite hobbies (and biggest faults),
___________________and she's content to push things off until later and go with the flow. Saerath is deeply
___________________embarrassed about her faults and works hard to keep them well hidden. Despite being
___________________a pain at times, she's terribly loyal to his rider and fully devoted to making herself a
___________________worthy partner. She craves approval, and this desire can override laziness should the
___________________reward be great enough. Requests are best given to N'tin and delivered through him,
___________________in order for work to get done the most efficiently and thoroughly. ____________๑ ๑ P A R T N E R S H I P++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++___________________To Saerath, N'tin is a motivator who nudges her firmly to work harder. The green
___________________relishes the attention that Hers bestows - from general care to a directed half-smile
___________________(quite a rarity indeed). However, despite the fondness of N'tin's attentiveness and
___________________of the Rider himself, the dragon is not above picking on his seriousness just a little
___________________or giving him a friendly criticism. She seems to find amusement in the young man's
___________________bouts of pouting (moreso a strained silence).
___________________As for N'tin, the presence of Saerath in his life gives him what he has lacked for
___________________most of his turns - a confidante for him and him alone. Given his somewhat
___________________detached personality, he is not what most people would consider approachable,
___________________so for one to seek his attention and approval so fiercely goes very far in his book.
___________________He is as loyal to Saerath as the dragon is to him, and takes pleasure in knowing that
___________________he can make a friend and keep them. Given this, N'tin smiles easiest around his
___________________companion - something that none outside of family have seen, and if so, rarely.
___________________The dragon's chattiness encourages her rider to be more social and give others the
___________________chance to see who he really is.
___________________At the same time, Saerath enjoys the fact that she knows N'tin inside and out,
___________________and while desiring others to see how great (in her mind) Hers is, she also wants
___________________to selfishly keep that privilege to herself. She is easily jealous of others who try
___________________to take his attention for too long, but luckily for her, those people are few.
