Character Name: Ni'al (From Nithal)
Age: 28
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Craft/Rank: Wingrider

Description: Ni'al is on the tall side of things. He stands at a good 5'8" and could be imposing if he really, really tried at it. His hair is a cropped medium brown, kept neat without much fuss, and his eyes are a lighter brown themselves.

Personality: Rough around the edges, but mostly he's a good guy now. He's got a sense of humor that comes off as a bit harsh to most and he can have a hard time with toning it down. He is a prideful man and does not like any jabs to be made at anything concerning what he's done, or how he's done it. He enjoys teasing people now and then, but they're all in good fun. He's not above teasing a dragon either, as long as he's certain said dragon won't hold a grudge on him for what he's said while they remember it. It isn't wise to make something mad that could easily injure him after all.

He looks back on his days as a bully with remorse, but there is some small edge of fondness as well. That sense of control he felt when he could just push someone around and have them run crying, or do as he said because they didn't want to get hit. he liked it. He'll never admit to such a thing now, never. But it's there all the same. He's also not above relapsing just a bit into those ways when he sees someone who just is not pulling their weight. If they are smaller than him and he can use his size to his advantage, he will try to merely bluff them into getting on with it. Outright violence now is below him, but reporting them to someone who can handle them, certainly not.

History

Ni'al had no special childhood. A weyrbrat born and raised, his mother was a kitchenworker and his father tended the herds, not fully a beastcrafter, but he knew enough of the Craft to be of service. As a child, he was unruly, using his taller stature to his advantage to bully the younger, and shorter, weyrbrats around to take on his chores when he'd rather spend time lazing about. Of course he was often caught and given the chore of mucking stables, something he'd hated with fervor as he'd be assigned the chore when the others his age had their own free time to rest and play.

When he was of age to start standing as a Candidate, he was not expected to really excel in the lessons. Sitting in one room for so many hours a day, so many days a week were never something he'd been capable of before when the Harpers taught them. But something about learning all the ins and ours of Impressing and what to do when a dragon hatched, how to feed it if it did Impress to you, well that captured his attention better than the Head woman's booming voice when somebody was in trouble. His first turn of being on the Sands didn't get him a life partner, but that was okay! He'd seen the dragons hatching up close for the first time ever. He'd only ever seen it from the Stands before, on the Sands it was so much more real.

His second turn as a Candidate ended up being his time. There had been another nearly trampled by a dragonet who was in such a hurry to find Theirs, and the boy hadn't moved fast enough to get completely out of the way. But he'd heal, and Ni'al didn't really know him anyway. The fifth egg to crack from the clutch drew his attention as a mottled blue poked his nose out, and then flailed loose. It was...kind of cute how he'd tripped over his own tail before righting himself. Until a cheeky little voice decided to challenge that as blue-green eyes snapped onto his.
Mine! I am not cute, and it's hard to stand on here. Your Timuth is so hungry mine! Please can we eat? The hunger and.. was that embarrassment? suddenly flowing through himself as if they were his own were more than enough to end all thoughts of teasing anything as he made his way to the newly hatched. "Of course, I'm sorry. We'll get you food."

Timuth's bonding was the best thing to happen to the boy, and he gradually became a much more upstanding member of the Weyr, and started to pull his own weight now that he had someone to look after. Bullying was the farthest thing from his mind now, though the occasional teasing managed to still slip though. But a good little tease now and then can't hurt.

Dragon: Blue Timuth

Description: Mottled. Timuth's hide is a dull blue splotched with shades of a clear, crisp blue in some placed, against larger spots of a deeper blue backdrop. His wings are edged in a brighter blue, as are his tail and his eye ridges. He is of the average size for a blue, if a bit more lean. he is rather picky about what he eats and therefor may eat less than he possibly should.

Personality: Timuth can be a vain dragon in some ways. He really dislikes being in an embarrassing situation, or worse, making a mistake and being SEEN doing it. He is occasionally reminded of his hatching, and each time he gives His a plaintive whine for reminding him that so many saw him in such a state.

Timuth also knows when to have fun. He is hard-working, yes, and doesn't slack off, but when he has his free time, he's thinking of things to do to pass that time that give himself some entertainment. Perhaps a nice new dive into the water that can splash as many people as possible, or a few new tricks in the air, a flip here, or a spin there. But he can't let anyone see him practice, it won't do to not be seen until it's all perfect. He also likes the little firelizards very much, they are amusing and he can always grab one for a bit of 'gossip' or a little game of 'let's hide the shiny thing.'

Timuth is very fond of rules and order. The fact that His had started out not following the rules spurred his choice in the boy, as something to teach him. The rules weren't bad things, they were there for a reason! When the order of things falls apart, Timuth can start to fret and become a bit of a handful, worrying over what happened to make it go wrong and if he could have done something, or had His do something to fix it before it got this far.
