This weyr is located near the back of the other weyrs, as if to give the pair some peace and quiet. It is rather humble on the inside, hardly containing anything that would befit a rider of more than 25 turns.

While kept clean and usually tidy, expect a few pieces of discarded clothing here and there during the summer, as H'oun tends to shed in his sleep and not even bother cleaning up after himself. . . .

History: The man formerly known as Haoloun was born to a small family in Iteos Hold, the oldest child of what would turn out to be two children. His father was a quiet and good man, raising his son to be honorable and a dependable no matter the situation. Occasionally stern when needed though gentle when not, the father and son grew together in a tight bond that only strengthened over the turns. When Haoloun's younger sister was born there was much more rejoicing in the family, and aside from being his father's assistant he took on the role of aiding his mother as well. It wasn't a task he was required to do by any means, his mother more than capable, but there was just something about being with and helping others the boy loved.

Not always obedient despite his best efforts, Haoloun developed something of a devious streak in his later childhood turns, playing pranks and running around with the best of them. Always careful to never let the others get caught should their problems run bad he spent a good deal of his time in punishment, sneaking out and away during it to cause more havoc. He quickly adapted to this routine of pranks and punishment, skipping out to do it again, though it all came to a quick and quiet halt when his parents placed their foot down and demanded he act his age lest they ship him off to a crafthall. Not quite ready to leave home at the tender age of eight turns, he decided to step off and behave. His friends wouldn't have it, their companion turning on them, so he decided that perhaps they should change too - even if they didn't really want to.

The next few turns were spent with Haoloun growing into an awkward youth, his time spent doing hold chores balanced well between family and friends. He slowly proved himself to be something of a leader amongst his group despite all their problems as children, his companions willing to follow his lead as he usually got them rewarded in the end for doing something. Many began to look towards him for a figurehead as a way to model things, but little did they know he took most of his directions from the older boys as well as his father, his best attempts to model himself after them never going in vain. He worked hard and was honest, following and giving instructions and orders that were never too harsh or uneasy.

Haoloun stood on the sands and Impressed Brown Pierth at eighteen turns of age, the day forever stuck in his memory. It wasn't his first standing by any means, having stood since he has been searched at thirteen, but it most certainly was the one that changed his life forever, giving him a lifemate and a new name of H'oun. The rest is basically history, as he spends his days at the Weyr riding in his wing and preparing for thread, never letting a moment go to waste. His naturally affinity to lead and or follow has garnered him both friends and enemies over the Turns, but that's nothing he can't handle.

Character Name: H'oun, formerly Haoloun
Age: 43 turns
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft/Rank: Wingrider

Description: Tall and lean, standing at about 6'0" on a good day, H'oun is every bit in his appearance a dragonrider male as one would think. Muscular from his years of working at cleaning his dragon and handling chores, his body is well toned and he looks healthy for a man of his age. Tanned, though not heavily or lightly, his body has a more dusty glow to it.

His hair is approaching the dawn of the age of salt and pepper hues, the once rich shade of brown now thinning itself out to different colors. Fairly thankful that his hair hasn't fallen out entirely he keeps it short in an effort to keep the coloring less noticeable, though H'oun doesn't seem to realize that with his aging comes a bit of rugged handsome that he didn't have in his youth. His eyes are a merry shade of darker green, the spark of his childhood having never left them, and they seem to keep his face all in once piece amongst a strong and square jaw and a slightly sloping nose.

H'oun keeps the the typical clothing types for people in the Weyr, dressing for the weather or when he's in the sky. He does own several fancy outfits, the kind he'd wear to feasts or to watch a hatching, but otherwise he's rather lax in his attire and enjoys being comfortable as it were. He does take great pride in his boots however, always remembering the lessons taught to him by his father.

Personality: Best described as a big mess of kindness and warmth in human skin, H'oun would rather bite his own tongue off then see someone upset because he failed to act on their behalf. Not quite extreme to the point of being chivalrous, he does have a tendency to try too hard to please others and often exacerbates a situation to a point where nothing good is coming from it. Such actions and troubles used to be far more common in his youth, where a slight case of an ego lead him to not back down and continue to think he was doing the right thing, though he has clearly mellowed with age. Instead of rushing into things now he just sits back and acts as the nice older guy who helps out, and he enjoys that.

Probably one of the best things about H'oun other then being a giant teddy bear of affection is his ability to adapt to situations. Having been a rider for most of his life now he has been called into all kinds of different positions, though his strength in fixing himself to better the problem stems from his childhood.

Wanting to be both dependable and independent, he took great pains upon himself to develop into a type of person others would willingly turn to for help or guidance. While this may seem to show that he has a large desire for people to want or need him, the actual truth is that he wants to be able to help others as much as they have helped him. With a policy of "no one is left behind" he ensures that those around him prosper as much as he does, always willing to bring them along with him should he climb the ranks.

Able to serve well as a leader or a follower, H'oun does well in crowds of any size and type. He can step up and take the lead if asked of him, he can lend a hand and back someone up if desired, or he can blindly follow orders without question . . .should they be ones he feels not wrong enough to harm others. He outright would refuse to take the lead or assist in anything that could ruin the lives of others or cause harm directly, but he will bite his tongue and do as he is told if the harm does not come straight from him.

As for dealing with the ladies...well, there's always next Turn right? It's not that H'oun is uninterested in them, he certainly does enjoy the company of the finer sex, it's more or less he's often at a loss as to what to do around or for them. Easily teased into an awkward stupor by any form of advances the man finds it easier to bluster his way through most relationships. He is by no means a stranger to sex and lust, having known them all from the early times in the Weyr, H'oun is just simply not that much of a slave to his desires.

You've done well to lead them this far on your own Haoloun, now I will help you the rest of the way.

Name: Pierth
Age: 25 turns
Color: Brown

Personality: There's something to be said about determination, even quiet determination, and Pierth is just the type to do the talking. Task driven and task oriented, there is nothing more this dragon enjoys then keeping himself occupied. Not the type to enjoy little pleasures like games or goofing around, Pierth would rather be doing something that betters the Weyr around him or the status of his rider - not that he wants to come off egocentric or anything. There is simply just a sense of pride about this dragon that can't be contained, though be the pride good or bad has yet to really be seen even though many turns have passed.

Sometimes Pierth can forget to see the little people around him, but that's okay. He's a Brown and some people expect it so why not live up to what they want? Opinions don't matter in long run, seeing as most dragons tend to forget quickly anyway, and Pierth is no exception - even forgetting that human riders can remember whatever he has said and done. Nothing he ever does it out of pure spite, nearly all of it unintentional and later apologized for, but he needs to watch out in case he should step on the feet of those he needs to depend on later. He's gotten much better at being considerate over the Turns, learning more to pay attention to others instead of just taking them for granted.

Flights were something of an Important Event in his younger turns, Pierth rising after everything that left the ground, though now that he is older and his rider more settled they seem to be more of a novelty. He still rises to give chase every now and then, be the rider of said dragon a good friend of H'oun's or whatnot, though instead of seeing it as a Big Deal it's more or less good exercise. He can't get fat you know, no one likes a pudgy dragon.

Why Me?: It takes a good man to be both a leader and a follower without overt ambition, and Pierth can understand the desire to stay with others and see them through things. A man who wishes to lead yet not leave anyone behind is certainly worth something in his eyes, and H'oun has all of those qualities in spades.

While Pierth may take it upon himself to ensure that he and his rider as always busy at some task, ready to tackle something new, H'oun will be at his side to ensure that they see life for what it really is - something to be enjoyed. Hurrying along to get things done is all well and good, but sometimes moving too fast can make you forget those around you. H'oun will make sure that Pierth remembers everyone who has tried so hard lest they forget their place and lose the trust of others.

Of course Pierth will also be around to make sure that H'oun remembers to have pride in what he is and he rank he has obtained, as well as the fact that they're going to be together until the end of it all no matter what may come their way. Together they will follow one another's leads no matter where it may go, and together they'll prosper.
