((This is an open RP location.. Anyone may pop in if they so choose, biggrin ))

Located above the lands of the Jua'nuru is a pass that leads to a large cliff face, which overlooks the mountain's eastern side. As it is believed that the peak of the mountain is tall enough to touch the heavens, this area and everything above it is called Mbingu'mwango, or Heaven's Gate.

Though it is a sacred place and all are forbidden to venture to it, a few who still find themselves in need of divine guidance and sneak away to this place in secret.

As for the weather, the air is thinner and the cold is severe, and as such, no vegetation grows here. Anyone who comes to this place will need to be of hearty constitution, otherwise they might find themselves fainting from lack of air and the bitter cold.

(rp continuing from thread, archived in post one here)

The striped goddess squeaked, in a very undignified manner, as she scrambled towards her new found ally. Ideas were flying through her mind as she bent down to Safi'theluji, things about if the thin air had gotten to her, the cold, or maybe even something worse. The goddess, not a whole lot bigger then the Maliki, nudged at the cheek of the white one, trying to get her to move. She didn't know if she was knocked out or just exhaused, so she didn't want to try and move her, just yet.
"Safi'theluji...Maliki..are you okay?"

Safi murmured quietly and turned over to her side, eyes half-closed. As her head started to fog up, she realized it could only be one of two things: Either the air was so thin that it was causing her to faint, or, she was being punished for talking to the goddess. Either one would be very bad, but somehow lack of air sounded like a better option than smiting. "..I'm.. ..Alright.."

Slowly the white lioness attempted to stand, or at the very least, sit. Now, if only the cliff would stop spinning..

Mo'onasi nudged at her more, worrisome.
"Are you sure? Perhaps we sould bring you down to these caves that you live in. Maybe then you will not topple over like you did..."
General concern crossed the features of her face as she stooped over the lioness as she was lying down, only to move just enough to give her room when she stood up.
"Should I....go down and try to fetch someone?"

((::hands you the prize for LONGEST REPLY WAIT EVAR:: XD;;;;;.. ::cower:: ))

The Maliki dug her paws deep into the snow to steady herself and gave her head a thorough shake before opening her mouth and taking a few deep breaths, her tongue lolling out as she panted. "Perhaps going down a bit would be a good idea.." She blinked at the thought of the goddess actually going into the Jua'nuru camp, and what the others would possibly think should they see her.

After taking a few moments to regain her composure, Safi got to her feet again and slowly started down the path towards the caves. She looked back at Mo'onasi as she padded along, grinning sheepishly. "I'm sorry, what was it we were talking about?"

The usually serious young queen stifled a giggle, an obvious sign that the air was getting to her. "Lost your way and decided to travel upwards?"

The thought of someone getting lost at Heaven's door sounded a bit implausible, but then again, it wasn't any more implausible than Safi'theluji being graced by the presence of a beautiful, napping goddess. After this morning, she was certain that nothing was impossible.

"That would probably be best," she added with a slight nod as she stepped along, her legs wobbling with uncertainty. Just keeping the pride together under normal circumstances was a difficult task.. She had no idea what would happen if a goddess were suddenly to show up in the middle of the main den, in all of her glory. She trusted her pride, of course, but some of them could be a bit.. Unpredictable.

"Mmm, that's right." She murmured softly, looking down at her feet with a gentle and thoughtful smile. "But I'm sure one such as you has traveled many vast and beautiful lands.."

((*poses with it!!!* domokun ))

Mo'onasi took a pause as the Maliki started her way down, the goddess taking a spare moment to 'hide' her wings from a mortal's view. Things might be a bit easier if she looked like a mortal, though her coat definately didn't blend in well...but, there was only so much she was willing to do, and her wings were enough. She loped over to match the stride of Safi, hoping that she could help her friend if she happened to slip again.
"Just....so you don't spook, I hid my wings, so hopefully we won't run into anything...weird. You could just say that I lost my way and winded up here?" The goddess gave off a shy laugh, thinking that it must be the dumbest excuse ever, but hey, she was never good at these sort of things.
"Oh umm....we were actually talking about how you've never left your home, Safi."

The goddess dipped her head. "Well, I'm not too good at excuses. Maybe you could think of a better one?"

The goddess, now looking more like a striped lioness, continued on her focus of keeping Safi'theluji balanced until they could reach the caves where the white lioness lived. She watched her friend with a keen eye, trying to anticipate when she would slip, which was always a failure. her heart was in the right place, but sometimes she could be more of a nuicence then anything.

"I may have seen many lands, but none feel like home. I'm sure...that's a warm feeling. Right?" She gave the white beauty a warm smile.

Safi swiveled her black-tipped ears, a bit of worry on her brow. "No no, I didn't mean it like that.." She smiled. "I don't think anyone will ask too many questions."

As they made their way down the mountain, the white adolescent would loose her footing every now and then and bump awkwardly against the goddess' striped form, with a polite 'pardon me' whispered under her breath. Her tail swished behind her, absently brushing at the snow. "It's one of the few warmths out here.." Her voice trailed off and she looked out over the mountain with a distant haze over her eyes, her pace slowing a bit. "Still, security is hard to find for some.. I always worry that, despite my efforts, it still isn't home. I want it to be.. I want all of the Jua'nuru to feel safe."

((Dood. We should end this with Safi passing out and thinking it was all a dream..~ xDDD))

The striped goddess nodded to her companion, doing her best to catch her when she stumbled, but being clumsy as she was, the goddess didn't help too much. She gave a soft rumble in her throat before speaking.
"I'm sure that they all feel comfortable here. You have such a strong heart, they should all see that in you."

Guiding the lioness as best she could, since she didn't know the way, she tried her best to cheer up Safi, not knowing what was wrong, or why she seemed to stumble so much. A lioness born in the mountains shouldn't be able to blame it on thin air...right?

((Good idea. XDD ))

Safi's mouth curved into a tiny smile. A strong heart? Perhaps, but her body only seemed to be growing weaker by the day. It was true she had spent her life in the mountains, her body acclimating to the cold, yet even as they made their way closer to the safety of dens, her breaths were still labored. "I hope you're right.. Only time will tell, I suppose. I just have to do my best, and hope it's enough.."

As the pair moved further into the Jua'nuru encampment the Maliki's eyes remained watchful for the others, hoping silently that they were all still asleep in the dens. The cave entrances could be seen close by, but no movement was yet stirring in sight. "This is it.. My home."

The goddess gave her a strong nod. "Doing your best is always the best thing to do." Firm in the belief of the heart, Mo'onasi trudged on, confident with her words and advice.

The striped one's eyes darted this way and that, noticing just how the caves were, and that it wasn't quite what she was expecting. Of course, she wasn't totally sure what caves were, but...interesting, no doubt. She glanced around, trying to catch every detail and keep it in her flighty mind. "It...is very nice. Seems homely enough." She gave the other a friendly smile and a light nod of approvement.

Safi bobbed her head in agreement. "It's comfortable." She paused, giving another look around and an inaudible sigh of relief. "I think the others are sleeping, for now.."

Mm, sleep. She had gotten up in such haste to see the sunrise, that she hadn't until know fully realized just how tired she was. Had she been this tired before?.. Her eyes started to close without her realizing it and her mouth opened wide into a yawn. "..If you want to stay for a while.. You're.. welcome to.."
PostPosted: Sun May 14, 2006 6:12 pm

The goddess' striped tail swished on the ground, pondering on what to do. She wasn't too sure if she should hang around if her friend was going to sleep; who knew what the others would think?

"Perhaps I will. But first, I think you might need a little sleep or something, 'cause you sure seem tired." She gave a cautious sort of smile to Safi, hoping that she had said the right thing. She did look exhausted.

The snow-colored adolescent yawned again, her pace slowing as they arrived at the center of the dens. She smiled lazily at Mo'onasi as her legs began to slowly collapse under her, forcing her into a sit. Now that she was safe in the confines of the Jua camp, she finally let herself rest. "Sleep?... I guess I am... A little tired..."

With that, the frail queen settled herself down and closed her eyes again, the sounds around her growing distant as she murmured softly. "Maybe... ..Only for a minute..."
