Airi:: *outside on the edge of a sidewalk, looking down at her legs and how much better they were from the tending that Dracal had given to them and half-smiling. She startled a little bit and then nuffed to herself* If I keep up these thoughts I'll be a softie in no time
Falain: **sneaks around the corner, trying to find a new place to go since her journeys to the forest and university had lead to a dead end** "Prrrrrrpt!" she squeaked as cars began to pass by quickly, giving her the chills since she didn't want to be runned over. "Stupid moving cars!" she yelled to herself. Moving cars seemed pointless to her, it was the non-moving cars that made nice homes...
Airi:: She turned at the strange "prrrrpt" noise and saw a silver cat slinking around near the road just like her. A slight smale edged her lips when the other cat swore at the cars for moving.. it's what they were meant to do...
Falain: **shakes off her anxiety before noticing a grey scottish fold cat, on the streets as well** "Hm.... she spotted me!" she thought to herself, as she hesitated in taking another step. Flickering her tail back and forth, and wrinkling her nose, she gave a small wave to the girl, pondering if she was at least approachable.
Airi:: *amused by the hesitation, from this much distance she saw her own wariness in the eyes of the other, she thought about it for a moment then waved back, giving an unimpressive wave back but she wasn’t going to be hostile, no. She was getting better about being hostile. One fight was more than enough til she learned how to defend and attack properly*
Falain: **Catching the "wave", Falain slowly made her way closer to the Scottish fold, wondering, what she would be like since she didn't look too friendly, but not too dangerous as well** "Hi lady..." she said and gave a small curtsy. Looking at her style of clothing, they were clearly two different types of girls. Noting some of her leg injuries, she gasped, wondering if that would be her fate one day. "Did it hurt" she wondered .... not realizing yet again she was thinking outloud.
Airi:: *nearly groans. The last child she had spoken to was part of the reason why she was beaten to hell right now… Of course, it had felt amazing to punch that stupid man in the face.. but her legs were unforgiving in the matter. She cleared her throat and spoke softly* At the time… no.. but I had no salve to ease the burn til a little earlier today.. I’m fine now. If I’d been at home I’dve been safe I suppose…I’m Airi, you?
Falain: **wide eyed, she gasped again wondering how Airi knew what she had been thinking** "Oooh.... you must be telepathic or something Miss Airi!" **thinking she was the coolest thing ever, she bounced around her** "I'm Falain!" **Thinking again outloud she added, "I wonder how she knew I was thinking about her leg, she must be magical or something"**
Airi:: *raised an eyebrow, totally lost as to what the little girl was talking about. * What? I’m… not telepathic… *confusion etched over her features, was this little girl demented or something?* “I knew to tell you about my legs because you asked me if it hurt…”
Falain: **points** "See! You did it again! I was thinking how you knew what I was thinking in my head, and you responded! That means you're reading my thoughts, thus a telepath!" **nodding at her conclusion she giggled* "Oh how cool it would be to be able to read peoples minds! Well... ok maybe not that cool.... flying would be better, like the squirrels" she said thinking out loud once more. Little did Airi know, Falain was just being a typical young, imaginative child, still thinking strange magic actually existed, and ninja and pirates were out to take over the world.
Airi:: A half-smile was on her lips now, oh lord… she was totally onto the little girl and her number was up. “Okay.. I’ll prove that I’m not telepathic… Put your hand over your mouth really hard and then think your favorite food and I’ll have to guess what it is.. but I’ll be wrong. I don’t read minds.” *smiling, pleased since she knows that the girl won’t be able to speak.
Falain: **giggling, she decided to play the telepath's game** "I wonder if she'll just guess wrong because being a telepath is suppose to be a secret.... As for food.... it's totally yummy, delicious chicken meat yeaah!" she said outloud yet again, while thinking to herself. "Okies I'm ready!" she replied and covered her mouth, thinking really hard about chicken. **Chikemph** was the strange sound, coming from her covered mouth over and over again, as she kept thinking outloud.
Airi:: *she grinned with delight now, since the child had spoken out loud it was an even more perfect opportunity to make sure that she got it wrong.* She didn’t even pause to think about it before answering, “Your favorite food is liver and if I’m wrong then I’m not telepathic.”
Falain: **nodding** "Gosh! You're so right! Chicken liver is amazing! Nice save by the way!" she giggled, understanding perfectly what Airi was trying to do. "Totally knew she'd get it wrong purposely, but not completely.... she has to keep it a secret! It's all cool though, I know the truth!" stating her thoughts outloud once more. **prancing around Airi for a bit, she was most curious about her life now** "So...... what does Miss Airi do? Clearly you are someone of much importance!"
Airi:: *bites her lower lip to fight groaning* The little one was impossible.. completely impossible and beyond reasoning with. “I meant beef liver, I swear.” *sighs softly and gives up completely, she apparently could now read minds and getting mad at a baby was unacceptable.* “Do? Oh.. I don’t really do anything yet except get myself banged up… I figure I have time to make a life plan.. What about you little one?”
Falain: **snickering uncontrollably, she shooked her head** "Beef liver..... now you're just being silly Miss Airi!" she replied, waiting to hear Airi's story. "Bang up huh..... Oh! I get it! You were on some special mission to destroy someone! But they must've had an immense force to try and stop you, which is why you got hurt! But then with your awesome telepathy, you were able to foil their plans, and really only escape with minimal damage.... Could have been worse had it not been.... well you!" she exclaimed, very proud of her story about how Airi got her wounds. "And me? I'm going to find a more stable place to call home! I've searched the forest, and university, but I'm not sure if they are for me.... I remember this one tom cat mentioned something about the Ruins, so maybe I'll head there next although...... the Ruins....... I'm not sure why it's called that...." she replied and drifted off, as she wondered.
Airi:: *eyes the little one with such confusion it’s almost comical* “I got lippy with another cat ‘cuz he dared touch his weapon around me. I attacked him and we got pulled apart… As I was walking away the one that separated the fight attacked me from behind and that’s how I got hurt.” *trying to erase the look of hero worship on the little girls face, she was no saint.. not at all* “You.. don’t have a home?”
Falain: **Gasps** "A surprise attack! How evil! And yet cunning..... it's like he knew you were a telepath and just attacked you spontaneously...." she muttered, still believing Airi to be super awesome. "And for that other one to touch his weapon around a lady! So rude!" she nodded in agreement. "Although that must mean you are a fierce lady if he had to resort to such non chivalry!" she exclaimed, rather happy with herself once again until Airi mentioned, the no home thing to her. For some reason, everyone always caught onto that the most, "Yeah.... no home for now! But one day I will! Just have to find it! It's my mission, or else I will never be able to grow up as a lady!" she replied before wondering about Airi's home. "Oooh, do you have a home Miss Airi? I bet it's awesome!"
Airi:: *expression of severe displeasure and foreboding of temper* “Are you telling me that you’ve been living on the streets? No one there to take care of you at all?” *forgets about the stuff with the fight, it was old news for her now that she had something to help with all the pain she had been dealing with and a chance to get more salve when the time came to be. She waits as patiently as she can, not planning to say another word til she knows for sure and for certain if the child was running around willy-nilly in the streets.*
Falain: **gulping in fear at Airi's change in expression she nodded slowly** "Owner and her family disappeared one day.... and everything in the house gone except for a bowl of food outside the porch...." she explained shyfully. Ever since that fateful day, she knew she had to find a living out in the streets. "It's not bad though.... I've met many nice people.... just none of their places had room for me" she tearfully remarked
Airi:: *stands up quickly, bundling Falain up in her arms gently even through her burst of temper* “You’re coming with me to the Ruins, no argument either. I was raised on the streets and while it’s nice to meet “nice” people now.. one of these days you’ll end up finding someone that isn’t actually nice and you’ll get hurt. “ *blows a puff of hair up to get her bangs out of her face* “I’m temperamental and need my space most of the time, but you’ll have a bed of your own, a warm place to stay, food, and safety in the form of the house and me.” *starts walking, trying not to jostle the little one around a lot but Airi was a small girl herself*
Falain: As Airi unexpectedly embraced Falain, she blinked, "a home?" she thought out loud once more, "Oooooh, and Miss Airi too!" she giggled and was unable to contain her excitement, bouncing as Airi coaxed her into walking with her. "Eeeeee!" she nodded again and again. "And the ruins toooo! Doesn't sound too bad after all...." she replied as she still wondered what these ruins looked like. "Thank you Miss Airi" she squeaked last moment and continued to bounce as she followed her new sister.
Airi:: *looks down in a mix of confusion and warmth* She had a family now.. The ice princess had someone to look after now and even though she didn't have permission to take the little girl home, the risk was worth it.. No child should have to worry if they were going to eat the next day.. or if that was the day they'd get hit by a car.. or if they wouldn't out run that damned dog... She smiled just a little bit at Falain, "Don't thank me.. it's what family is for."
