Illidan cantered through the forest. He'd found a place to stay by the lake, but was interested in surveying the land and perhaps finding a more suitable den. It was very different here than the valley he'd lived before, peaceful and lush. He slowed as he approached a clearing, walking from the shadows to a patch of grass. True that the green was hardly what he liked best, it would do for now. Folding his wings in close, he lowered his head to eat.

[I too, lack a cert at the moment, at least an updated one Will be updated when the cert comes in.]
The clearing and surrounding forest slumbered peacefully in the time of the late afternoon dancing with the approach of the shift of night. Little animals scurried themselves to head home to get ready for their transition in to sleep, while others stretched out to start their day in the cover of night, the time when "monsters" and dances of darkness ruled the land.
However, the distant sound of hooves and chattering broke through the silence and routine of shift changes....
Just a little faster, just a little longer, that was all Zaitus could think of as he chased after his target of the moment, a raccoon that had stolen his apple while he was not looking. I just need to, "DANG YOU!"
The little foals slammed his hooves in to the ground in an attempt to halt himself as he watched the bandit make his way in to one of the trees that surrounded the clearing that lay by a lake. "You..you know what is coming to you, don't you?" As if the creature did since he did not seem phased at all.
With a huff, the foal stomped on the ground and charged at the tree in anger. Not too much a correct plan since all he got was pain and a ticket to stumbling around before being introduced to the ground.

Illidan looked up at the sound of a young voice, turning blindfolded eyes toward the noise. Arching a brow at the colt that just ran head first into a tree, he moved a bit, shifting weight first and then walking toward the foal, the brief flare of the green flames that marked where he trod lighting up the clearing, if only for a few seconds. He stopped just a few paces from the colt and watched him, his demon sight focusing on the youngster, trying to sort out him out.

The world within the young foal's mind seemed to swirl in pain as he lay in his fallen spot in a slumped heap. It seemed as if every time the little guy would go in to a fit of aggression pain would always been following close behind and make sure to hit him in some form and manner, but it didn't matter to him. As long as he felt satisfied with himself, and or got what he wanted in the end, then all was right in his world. If not, well he would make sure to try again when he felt was right.
He groaned and rolled himself on to his side, his legs curling underneath him as he shook his head. His world was still spinning, but Zaitus still felt as if the Earth was shaking in reality, as if the tremors were getting closer and closer with each passing second.
Slowly, he cracked an eye open and took the chance to carefully search his surroundings. Something told him he might regret it, but another part of him told him to take the chance.
"What the heck!?"
The foal quickly jumped in his hooves and took a defensive stance. Pale eyes scanned the figure before him. It was big, and it was purple, but in no way was it comical, or sweet looking.
"Who, and what the hell are you, some kind of stalker or shadow walker? And..why are you purple? Are your ears really that long and big?"
Zaitus glared as he kept his defensive nature. He wasn't going to take the chance with someone he had no idea about, especially with a species he had never laid eyes on before...

Illidan walked forward a few more steps, brief flames of green marking his trail before dying out. "My name is Illidan. I'm . . . cursed." He looked up to the tree and back to the colt. "Why are you ramming that tree with your head?"
Perhaps the foal was . . . special, though he seemed rather aware of his surroundings. Overly aggressive maybe? Not a good trait in youth without guidance. Illidan smiled to himself. Perfect.

Zaitus' head cocked to the side in an ever so slight manner as his face etched with a look of confusion and curiosity. Cursed? What could the stallion possibly mean by that? Could there have been witches around or something, no wait, those were only part of stories to scared human and animal young alike, right?
The foal quickly shook his head and turned his sights to the glowing foot prints of the older male before him. Maybe this guys was cursed, maybe to always leave a calling card to anyone following him.
Turning his gaze back to the other male, he quickly eyed the smile playing on his lips and made a note to just stay on his guard for now.
"Cursed? What could you possibly mean by that, huh? There is no way someone has the power to curse someone else. That is just a bunch of fairytales and old stories. If you want to be cursed, then you have to be a skinwalker or something. They are the only ones around here who are cursed."
He nodded before he scowled and gave a scuff. "A raccoon stole my apple while I wasn't looking, so...I just thought I would try to get it back, that's all! Stupid thing got away from me though..."

Illidan stepped to side, out of the shadows, letting the colt see him better. "I am kalona, and that makes me cursed. You're awfully young to be out alone." At the colt's explanation of the apple theft, Illidan just chuckled. "There are always more apples. It's not worth being hurt to get what you want, is it?"

With the unshaded appearance of the stallion, the colt's eyes widdened in suprises, and maybe a tad bit of fear as he took a step or two back. The stallion sure looked menacing, something that should not be dealt with or rubbed the wrong way, however Zaitus could not be sure since appearance made no connection to the personality that was being shown to him at the moment.
Zaitus gave a snort and put on his tough fasade once more. "I may be young, but that doesn't mean I can't handle myself! I..I can take on anything that comes may way, one way or another!"
He stomped a hoof and let out a scowl.
"If it is mine, then yeah, I do think it is worth it. I don't want any other apple; I want MY apple. It is mine, so I want it more than any other apple laying around on the ground. It wouldn't be the same. Plus...no one takes something that is mine and gets away with it..."

"Very well, then. Let me show you another way," Illidan said, moving to turn away from the tree the colt had so recently been introducing his head to. Bracing himself, the stallion lurched forward and kicked the trunk, leaving behind brief puffs of green flame. The tree shook and the raccoon dropped to the ground with the apple.
Illidan looked at the creature as it scampered away, tempted briefly to stomp on it for food, but declined so as not to frighten the colt. Instead, he gently nudged the somewhat gnawed-on apple toward the foal. "And there is your apple. Not quite as appetizing now, but yours all the same."

Pale eyes watched with some wonder as the large Kalona used what he would think would only be a sample of his strength to shake the tree and bring the small creature down. He watched as the raccoon scampered off to who knows where. Probably to go find someone else to go steal a meal from.
Turning his attention back to the larger male, Zaitus' pale eyes looked to the apple with wary disgust, but still, he said he wanted HIS apple, the was certainly HIS apple. "R-right then..."
The small foal slowly edged towards the fruit and kicked it as if the thing would attack and poison him if he made one wrong move.
With a sigh, he lowered his head and started to eat around what the raccoon has taken as his share.
"So, big purple guy, why are you even talking to someone like me? Don't you have more important things to be doing with your time? It's not like I could ever do anything for you, right?"

"You might not be able to do something for me now, but given the right encouragement and direction, you can grow into someone I would have much need for," Illidan said, choosing words carefully. "I can teach you how to stop your fruit from being stolen or how to retrieve it without injuring yourself if you wish." He fixed the colt with a blindfolded stare. "I can also teach you when it is best to let something go and when it is best to pursue what you want. Now, colt, what name do they call you?"

Zaitus eyed the male as he let his thoughts swirl in his head. To go and be taught by a Kalona would seem like murder to some, but for the foal his interest was peaked. Someone like the male before him could have much to teach him, and bring in some excitement in his life. Plus, there is nothing wrong with befriending a species most would be wary of, right?
Well that and it would be nice to have a male figure in his life seeing as he saw little of his father.
"Zaitus." The foal said while smirking to himself and nodding. "My name is Zaitus, Illidan."
He took a few careful steps towards the male, his smirk still holding on to his lips. "Now, tell me more about what you can teach someone like me. I might not be something like another one of the feared species, but I can prove I can be whatever you think I can be for you."

A slow grin formed across Illidan's face. Well now, that hadn't been hard at all to convince the foal. "You don't have to be like me to become fearsome. It's merely a lesson of how to exert your will, especially upon others. I can teach you how to have others do as you wish them to, but it will take time and practice." He fixed Zaitus with a blindfolded gaze. "If you don't have the patience to learn to be a dominant force, then I don't have time to waste on you. Do you think you are ready to learn?"

The small wind foal carefully eyed the smirk that painted itself on the purple stallion's lips.
While it did seem he was eager and more than ready to take on Illidan's offer, he was still wary of what would take place in the actual lessons, and how the stallion would go about teaching him what he felt was needed.
Though, he supposed that biggest thing would be what would happen if he were to do bad, or get himself in to trouble. Punishment was never his biggest thing to look forward to in any manner. It didn't matter though, he would just have to use his determination and will to get him through whatever came his way.
He'll prove he was worth his space in this world.
The foal tensed a bit under the stallion's gaze, but still gave a nod at his explanation and word.
"Tch, don't worry big guy. I won't be a waste in any sense of the word. I'll show you that you won't regret your time spent on me! I'm not failure or someone who gives up that easily, so bring it on!"

"Very good," Illidan answered. "Firstly, though, how often are you away from your parents? I'm not sure they would take too kindly of your association with one of my kind, even though I would not harm you."
He moved a bit, walking toward a fruit tree nearby. "Secondly, you have your apple, but you're not eating it. Why is that?" He bumped the tree with his shoulder to knock some fruit down before looking back at the colt. "There. I have fresh fruit now that a raccoon hasn't sampled. You can have some if you're still hungry."
