Psychobilly is basically A mix of punk and rockabilly(And other genres is most cases but I'm just teaching you the basics) and is pretty crazy sounding music.

(WARNING: May be offensive or unliked and does have some swearing. It's my musical taste, thank you)

If you watch the video they do a lot of what is "Moshing", which I'm sure is not liked in Buddhist community, and the music is fast, hard, and some may call "violent".

I was wondering if I could still love this music and be Buddhist?
Also If I would be able to play this kind of music and not be shunned from other Buddhists?

i'm pretty sure buddhism would be ok with any kind of music, as long as you don't harm anyone. but i'm no expert.

Dude, I listen to ska and punk. I get in the pits, too, even though I am very devout to my religion. As long as you aren't swinging fists, you're still practicing non-violence. Bumping into your temporary buddies isn't violent, it's just part of the experience of the concert. Also, Buddhism won't tell you that you can't like a certain kind of music. Listen to whatever you want! Expression is key in Buddhism. We have to know ourselves in order to find liberation.

I'm a long time practitioner of Buddhadharma, and I am quite fond of Rockabilly and Psychobilly, although my teacher has frowned when he heard it blasting as I pulled up for meditation class. biggrin But his rationale is that's harder to calm one's mind while they're constantly stirring it up with such music. And in all honesty, I see his point. So I avoid listening to, watching, or reading anything that may cause excitement or otherwise "stir up" my mind for a while before my meditation time.
