Ilori was on top of the world with life. Things were going so well, so well, for him. He had some fantastic friends, a beautiful mate, boys! It was all as it should be.

Almost all as it should be. Older, wiser... Ilori understood now the things that had frightened him so much and caused him to act as he had. Too cruel to his sister, ungrateful to his parents, a selfish little brat that hadn't deserved the family he'd been born into. That was the trouble with great families, sometimes cubs who didn't know anything else had to be shown trouble to understand fully the gift of upbringing they had.

He wasn't sure to think his family still worried and cared, but he guessed they might, with the feeling he had for his sons now. It would be right to visit. It would be wrong to withhold what he had.

Taking up his firstborn, Ilori promised Alex Xander he would be back soon, and went off to find that home, using mostly the water to give him a quicker guide and direction. He wasn't so sure of himself as to just tromp up with the cub, placing him in a soft nest before calling out with a roar.

Ilori jumped up on a higher ground where he could both see and be seen, but close enough to keep an ear out for the cub should he wake.

Naida was sunning herself, enjoying the warmth of the afternoon. She was getting up there in age, perhaps a bit slower than she used to be, but overall she had to admit she was content. She still worried about her children, if she'd been a good mother, and grandmother, to them all, the two who worried her the most being Ilori and Nomis. She'd not seen hide or hair of either one for quite some time, and it broke her heart to wonder if they were still alive.

She was thinking about the two of them when she heard the roar, almost thinking she'd might of dreamt it. It sounded familiar, though...could it possibly be? Lifting her head to scan the horizon, she didn't see anyone off hand, but deciding her muscles needed a little more exercise, investigating seemed the right thing to do. Even if she'd imagined it, still wouldn't hurt to find out for sure.

It didn't take long for her to spy a male in the distance, but couldn't make out details. Wasn't till she'd about halved the remaining distance did she recognize her son. "Ilori?!" she called out, increasing her speed. Could it really be?

It didn't take long for Ilori's searching look to spot the female coming at him in the distance. He jumped forward, as if to make a gallop for her, but stopped after a few long steps. He wouldn't go far with Zandrio lying there. He couldn't risk something happening here.

"Mom!" He called out to confirm her inquiry. "Peace!" A greeting he had learned to call out, living near the loon called Bowser. He waited for her to come closer so he wouldn't have to yell quite as loud, pacing a few steps forward more, then backing up. Older, wiser, uncertainty changed to simple caution.

"You look well! How are you? The family?" The words bubbled out. If he'd been less of a lion, he'd have let it make a babbler of him, but he wouldn't over run his mother with words.
